There are hundreds of sites (most full service with cable) and a ton of seasonal and storage spots as well. Located just off of 31, it was easy to access from the PA Turnpike and there is plenty to do locally if you're into State Parks and nature. Somerset is just down the road as well. We ventured out to Kooser State Park and a couple of the other smaller ones but did spend a lot of time at the campground as well. They have clean playgrounds, fishing ponds/lakes, mini-golf, a fenced dog park, a game room, and plenty of room to ride bikes or walk around the grounds. Pros: Full service (mostly level) gravel sites with cable, fire rings and a picnic table; a lot to do for the kids; clean; nice supply/gift shop; firewood, propane, air available Cons: Sewage pipes are a little higher off the ground, so it was tricky draining the tanks; WiFi doesn't reach the farther sites; close to a couple of roads where we did hear quite a bit of jake-braking and Harleys but it wasn't deafening; sites are a little tight together I know the cons look to outweigh the pros here, but it really isn't that way. I would certainly stay here again and just prepare myself for the sewage issue. We had a great time and were glad that it was so clean (likely thanks to the large team of employees that are constantly driving around to pick up the trash and keep an eye on things. Felt safe and secure the entire trip).

I love pioneer park. Great memories growing up and now. The workers are so nice and a nice little store in the office. Great place to camp.

My recent visit was promising at first, but the rain just kept coming all day long and it "dampened" my spirits completely. I stopped by the main office and got directions to the Jones Mill Dam. Since it was raining so much I gave it some time to clear up, but to no avail. This park is certainly worth checking out and it will be super beautiful later on in the Spring. The wood frogs, spring peepers and other animals will be active. On the same road that this park lies on is two other parks: Kooser State Park and Laurel Ridge State Park, so it is possible to hit those up while in the area. I will certainly make the trip out here later on towards May.

What a great spot for a hike, but an even better place for a swim, relaxing, a picnic on the grass or some sun on the sand by the water. So after we arrived we hit the trail that ran along the water while taking in the small but beautiful lake. We then proceeded to head into the woods. It was a great little hike and the trails were very easy. After we were done hiking we got the huge blanket and the cooler with snacks and drinks in it out of the car and headed over to a shaded spot under the trees. We sat in the grass area in the left corner of the parking lot and listened to music, ate, drank and enjoyed each other's company for a good while. Then after that we packed up our stuff in the car and headed down to the water and enjoyed the lake which is very clean and refreshing and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. I love that they have sand and everyone looked so happy. They also have an area where you can purchase food and beverages but they also have many other great amenities which I am sure can be discovered on here or on their website. I am so glad I discovered this place. I will most definitely be stopping by again when I am in the area. Enjoy :)

We visited mid week so it was very quiet which was fine. Our second time adventuring to a place that was clothing optional. Now the pool was great! Super clean. Mandatory no clothes in the pool. The cameras were bit bothersome. I was completely unaware but I'll own that I'm oblivious in new environments so if someone spoke of them I don't recall but anyways we enjoyed the pool! Later on having some fun in the room and I'm laying on the bed which is right next to the door I mean right next to it! In all my glory on the bed I can hear people like whispering. Laughing. No big deal. Well when my door flung open and I have 3 people staring at me I was mortified. The whispering was them discussing the code which they had the code I had been given not sure if it was a universal one or not. The key pass were being issues so they only did codes no key! Anyways two woman and a man came walking in. They left very very quickly! We barricaded the door so we could sleep and high tailed it out in the morning. Aside from that mishap which is pretty unnerving to me. More precautions and safe measures should be in place! So that's why I went with the 3 stars! Give it a try it may have just been a fluke situation!

The people are incredibly friendly and you feel like a regular the first time you come. The facilities are very well kept and the people there are always creating fun activities and things to do. There are also a variety of lodging options to fit any preference or budget level. It would be nice if there was more as far as dining options since you are so far from any place to find food. We attended last before the "Bare Barn" reopened so perhaps this has improved, but the last time we were there it was just the poolside concession.

The campsite bathroom was clean, well stocked and regularly maintained. All of the employees at the trading post were friendly as well! Park rangers drove around regularly (4-5 time through the campsite a day I'd say). My only wish would be adding closure information onto the website so people know ahead of time. During our visit the main overlook was under construction/maintenance so there was no access to it. Which was a little disappointing since it looks beautiful online! But it was a short 5 minute walk out to the overlook so it was easy to get back to a different trail. (It is clear the individuals who work and manage the park take great pride in it, and take care of the facilities wonderfully!).

The Ravens Rock trail has a beautiful outlook with cool, large rock structures. And the rock city trail was super fun too! The free maps of all the trails are very helpful. Some blazes could've been marked a bit clearer and some signs for trail heads could be adjusted as well. There is limited parking at trail heads so be sure to get there early to beat the crowds. The trading post was a fun addition with Coopers Rock merch, stickers (our personal fav), some local goods, firewood, some camping supplies, and even some ice cream treats! Overall we had a really nice stay!

The owners hide behind their faith and use it as a justification to treat people rudely. From the first point of contact, the woman spoke to us rudely, talking over my husband, and even yelling. They have many strict rules (some of which are extreme, like paying extra if you have over 3 people but can have no more than 6 people). The owner charged us twice for the extra people, then argued that she didn't, until we told her we had bank statements to prove it. The deer pen is really sad. The fence is falling down and in the pen, there are several falling down sheds, the pen itself is small. The pool is not heated (and if you have child that is not potty trained, or a child that wears swimmy diapers, they are prohibited to swim), the playground is subpar, and the grounds are run down. Go somewhere else, where your money is appreciated because you will be paying a lot for nothing.
