They learned to sew, make stop animation lego movies, voice recording. They learned how to bake bread, try new international flavors of food and be their own scheduler. They loved the warm, funny, kind staff. It felt like a summer home. The flexibility for us was fantastic! Day to day camp, not week to week. Flex schedule during the day, any time drop-off, any time pick-up. Lunch included! That was a big bonus for those of us who detest making packed lunches every day! I sent my two children to Steve and Kate's Camp this summer and will not be returning. This camp has zero regard for the health and safety of its children. Countless times my children have reported that other campers urinate or defecate in rooms throughout the space and they do not properly dispose of it. My children have reported seeing staff members who sprayed some air freshener on the impacted area and left the waste there on multiple occasions. Additionally, my family and I have also contracted several illnesses from this camp throughout the summer that have piled into thousands of dollars worth of medical bills. We can confirm that the camp infected our family because my husband and I work from home and our kids are the ones that brought home these illnesses after sharing stories with us about children vomiting, coughing and sneezing in their presence. For the past month, my family has been struggling with lice, and we are confident that our children contracted it from Steve and Kate's Camp, considering that we did not send them to any other camps over the summer and school has not started yet. While we know illness is inevitable, we never thought we would be paying more than the cost of the camp to treat these issues. During the last month of camp when I was dropping off my daughter's lunch, I saw health inspectors enter the building. After further research, I discovered that this is not a routine procedure and can only conclude that there must have been some sort of hazard that the families were not notified about, or at least I was not notified about. My children also reported seeing mouse traps in each of the rooms, a visual that disturbs me deeply. I will not dive into the social and operational issues such as lack of child supervision and persistent bullying that my children faced at the camp, but I will let it be known that these issues are also prevalent. To all the parents considering sending their children here: please do not. If I could ask for my money back or be compensated for the thousands of dollars to keep my family healthy, I absolutely would. Save your money and keep your children healthy and safe.

The playground area is large with lots of various slide / tunnel / swing / climbing wall options. My daughter is 1.5 and there is plenty for her to do. In addition to a playground there is also a large basketball court, soccer field and a gazebo. There are always a ton of organized sports going on, especially during the weekends. Parking and benches are plentiful. Simons Park doesn't get as crowded as Central Park, but also has a bit more to do than Watnong Park. Because of that it's usually my go-to, and is the perfect way to get fresh air with my mini.

There are both regular swings, toddler swings, and a see-saw in addition to the play structures. You can keep an eye on your little ones from one of several benches in or around the playground. If you would like to watch like a pro in the shade you can keep an eye on them from the gazebo that is located right next to the playground. The ground cover is made of recycled tires to protect your little ones from little falls. The trees next to this playground provide shade later in the afternoon so plan your sun exposure accordingly. There is a water fountain here between the basketball court and playground that is available seasonally. There is currently (end of Spring 2016) a blue porta-potty near the entrance to the parking lot near the corner of Hillview Ave and Mountain Way. The bathrooms attached to the concession stand are typically not available unless there is a large sporting or community event going on so plan your intake and output needs accordingly.

The staff was helpful, friendly and very accommodating. They kept 25 1st grade boys interested and engaged the entire time!!
