Before we hired him and Brian I made sure he had a bond and license. He kept saying I was just supposed to trust him. They did the work and the tankless works fine but when I did a call back on an issue I left several messages and when I didn't get a response I called Navien. When he finally came he kept saying to call him not the company and I told him that I did. Brian was supposed to take over the business but there is no way of getting ahold of either of them. It was bumped up against a copper wire and literally melting. He quickly repaired that, explaining as he went along. They offered to come out that night, but it was late, so I just turned off the water main to the house for the night and asked them to come out the next morning, which they promptly did. They made the repairs quickly, showed me what happens and what they did to fix the issue and turned the water main back on for me. Had us back up and running with no water damage in what felt like no time. Communication with them was great and the price was fair and reasonable. Will definitely contact this company again for any future plumbing needs I may have.

We had Hart Plumbing come out. (They are one of the few plumbers in Kitsap County willing to service Bainbridge Island, so we were excited about that.) Thomas Castrataro came out to assess the job. He could not tell us even a ball-park estimate of how much time the job would take. He also could not tell us how much money it would ultimately cost. Finally, with considerable prompting, he said it would cost us $1500. If the job was going to take a max of three hours (more than enough time), that meant Hart Plumbing's Thomas Castrataro was hoping to charge us $500 per hour. Thomas came back with a second offer of $1000, but the $500 difference between the two offers, coupled with the fact he was going to drive to Silverdale (rather than just go to ProBuild or Ace Hardware on Bainbridge), charging us for that time and 21 miles driving (each way) also shook our confidence in his professionalism and his acting in good faith. Despite the fact that I had articulated that it was the sink that needed fixing, and the fact that Hart had a very spacious van, Thomas didn't have the materials necessary to re-attach the sink. He said he might have to drive from Bainbridge Island to Silverdale, because he didn't have an account with ProBuild or Ace Hardware on Bainbridge. Does that sound professional? We appreciate that Hart comes out to Bainbridge Island. (Other plumbing companies do not.) But frankly, we felt completely used, and will never recommend Hart to anyone. We had to hand Thomas $75 (plus tax) for no service (Hart's policy), which was painful. We thought Hart would at least have sent a plumber reasonably priced and acting in good conscience. We know there are many affluent people who would be willing to pay $1000 or even $1500 for this 3-hour max job. But frankly, we felt taken advantage of, and will NEVER call Hart Plumbing again: This company is a big red flag.

Right on time Saturday morning we have two Rooter Tech, plumbers here and ready to go. After explaining the scrub head sucking, toilet situation and for asking to add a tank rebuild to the estimate/project, they got to work. It didn't take too long before they came back with a price that was fair, to do the work. Rooter Tech, was the third plumbing contractor we got an estimate from and it was worth it to hold out for the right people. Everything about this project was efficient, stress free and I'm throughly satisfied. The toilet is working great, no complaints!

One aspect of their communication that particularly stood out was the consistent updates provided through both text and email, including photographs of the technicians and notifications regarding their arrival times. I made an appointment online (a huge mistake) to investigate draining my water heater and replacing the sacrificial anode rod. The first inkling that something was wrong was when I was not given an approximate arrival time. The day of service I used their chat feature (100% AI I'm sure) to try and narrow a time down and was told I'd get a call from the office about a time, but no one called. Then we called their office number (and again 100% AI I'm sure) we were again told we'd get a call from the office, but again, it never happened. This must be a common complaint because checking on arrival times is one of the numeric options when you get the menu. That menu option told me the visit would occur between 11 AM and 11 PM! Really? So disappointing. At 2:50 the technician called to give me a 25-minute heads up he was on his way. When he got here, he informed me that the cost to drain the water heater was over $1,000 and that that did not include the anode rod. I couldn't believe it. With an average lifespan of 8-12 years and almost 6 yrs already gone by, I didn't feel it was worth a $1,000 gamble that we'd be extending the lifespan of the heater. I declined the service. I think information about the cost of water heater flushing should have been shared with me before the appointment. Someone should have picked up the phone and warned me about the exorbitant cost of flushing a water heater. But maybe Springer is in a position where the $129 service fee is worth more to them than repeat business. If you make an appointment with Springer, call them (don't book online) and ask if they have any idea of the cost of your needed service before they come to you. Also, be prepared to remain a hostage in your home for the day.
