My husband and I also sampled the fried pickles, which are available in a half order, perfect for two. They were very tasty, maybe a lil' on the salty side, but ranch dip covered nicely. I had onion rings and side salad with chicken. Side salad included a great variety of veg, very nice size, and I was able to share a bit with the hubby. He had the lunch chicken fried steak, which he said was a very good, and a manageable portion; no leftovers though. He did share a bite or two, and the flavor was good. Tasted fresh, not frozen. He also had the broccoli and loaded potatoes. The salad and loaded mashed potatoes were a $1 up charge each, but well worth it! Ordered the Rodeo burger well done in takeout. Got home it was raw, so I took it back. Girl who brought me the burger went and got her manager. The lady came up front and as I'm trying to explain, she cuts me off and says she's speaking to her employee and she will talk to me in a min.(Rude ASF) So I told her to just refund me. I am partially deaf so I speak in loud tones without knowing it, it's my handicap sorry. The lady manager takes my food, comes back out argues with me that it's not "RAW" but more like "MED RARE". Then tried to tell me it's a difference of opinion how people view the food and color. BUT IT WAS "RAW"!!! Here's what she didn't know though, I'm a MYSTERY SHOPPER, AND I DO THIS FOR A LIVING!! Service is really great. They were busy but on top of their tables. My fiance got the chicken fried steak and he LOVED it. My fiancé in general loves everything he has ever ate here. For me, this was my first time. Mind you I'm from Baton Rouge and love New Orleans food. So I ordered gumbo and crab cakes just to see the comparison. The gumbo was not gumbo. It's not real gumbo. But it was a pretty good soup. The crab cakes were actually pretty good and filled me up pretty quick. I couldn't finish most of them. There food is good most of the time. I ordered from the through the waitr app and it was not good. I ordered chicken fried steak and a caesar salad. The meal showed up with no caesar dressing. And the steak had no gravy and the forgot the bread that comes with it. I called them and told the girl who answered and she thought it would be ok if they put my name into an envelope or something and they would have something for me the next time I came in. I told her I didn't think so. I called waitr and they said they would go pick up the missing items for free. The manager did send an entirely new order out salad and all. So I will at least give them that. I don't understand how you can let an ordered go out that screwed up when that's what you do. You make food orders, people will not just accept it wrong. Our first visit, about a week ago, we sat at the bar. We were there during their "Happy Hour", although we didn't fond much to be happy about. The bartender, we'll call her, "Miss Personality", was not very attentive or talkative, to us or any other customer at her bar. She never smiled, just looked like she absolutely hated her job. Not very welcoming. They have a pretty ok selection of beers, on tap and in bottle. Also, they have a great looking food menu. We weren't hungry, but we orderer chips & queso, to check them out, and maybe come back on another trip for dinner. It tasted like half burnt cheese just melted and thrown in the bowl. There was no seasoning, no onions, pimento or ANYTHING to give it any flavor. Literally, melted cheese that's been heated all day long and poured in a bowl. The chips didn't even have flavor. It was gross. We got the tab and were surprised at their happy hour prices, considering most other bars and restaurants in the area had MUCH better happy hour pricing. Whatever, we paid and left. While we were there, we noticed a great number of pizzas being ordered, so we decided next trip, we'd give them another shot and try their brickoven pizza. Last night, we went back. We walked in, and noticed "Miss Personality" behind the bar, so we requested a booth. Our server was very friendly and suggestive with the menu! She was great help! Good food. Nice selection of beer. Good prices. My friend and I are at Pipeline just about every other day. We normally sit at the bar and order a few tall glasses of a different beer each time because well...it's always nice to change it up. They always always always have good music playing. Lots of classic rock. Love it! I can't really comment on the waitresses because we rarely sit at a table. However, the bartenders are great and they are awesome at updating their blackboard with new drinks. I've never ordered any plate that I didn't like. I love their buffalo shrimp, chicken fried steak, sweet potato fries, and like 20 more things that I don't feel like listing. I also like the fact that their restrooms are always clean. At least the women's restroom is. I've never really had a conversation with my friend about how clean the men's restroom is, but I'm assuming it is or else he would complain to me about it lol I have nothing but great things to say about Pipeline. This review is LONG overdue. Back in April my boyfriend and I decided to stop by and give this place a try. Keep in mind I'm from New York and he was familiar with the place.. We gave it a try and it was just horrific. I ordered the chicken mornay and it literally made me sick to my stomach. Not only was the amount we paid for this disgusting dish expensive but the chicken wasn't even cooked all the way. It was raw. The pasta had no flavor what so ever and the portion for the price was just plain sad. Next time I visit I swore I'd never go back there and anyone who tries this and is from New York it's deadasss shit bro. Horrible. The service wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Had a great lunch...of grilled Mahi Mahi added to the Shrimp Brochette plate. You can get two sides. The grilled food was absolutely delicious, very moist fish w/o a fishy or dry taste you receive so many places. Even the veggies had a great grill taste to them. Others with me had a Swiss burger which was huge and they really liked, fried mushrooms very good( bit spicy breading), watch out if u can't do spicy you might inquire. I love pipeline grill however today was the worst service we had ever received there. Our waitress would never come back to our table. I had to keep asking the hostess for stuff. If you are in Baytown, you need to check out Pipeline Grille! I have been coming here since it first opened and I have yet to have a disappointing meal. For starters, definitely try the fried pickles. They make the best version I have ever tried as the batter is very light and slightly spicy. Delicious! Served with homemade ranch on the side, it is a Texan staple! :) They have a great queso as well although several times we've gone in, the tortilla chips are a little stale. My boyfriend tried the "Swamper" pizza which is topped with shrimp, sausage and chicken. I had never had pizza with shrimp as a topping but it was fabulous! We've gotten this pizza twice now and the quality control is amazing! They make a mean version chicken fried steak. It's a huge portion and fried to perfection! Very yummy. If you are in a dinner mood, try this! I was craving a juicy thick cheeseburger and Pipeline does not dissappoint! They have an AMAZING burger! Its hefty, hearty and the bread bun they put it on is fantastic! The sliders are also great if you are in the mood for a smaller portion. They have great milkshakes too. One of the things I like most about Pipeline is that they serve "Angry Orchard" hard cider on tap. It's delicious and complimentary to any meal. The service we have gotten has always been great and the atmosphere is very inviting. Some of the best food in Baytown! Prices are about that of a Texas Roadhouse or Outback. Decor and atmosphere is similar to that of a sports bar with more emphasis on the grill portion. Lots of old school oil and gas company signs and TVs with the latest game on. They seem to emphasize their pizzas but they're not too special. The pizza bites from the appetizers were a shade dry and we decided not to order those anymore. Their ceviche is spectacular, and my wife doesn't care for it usually! Kind of a cross between a shrimp cocktail and what you would consider a typical ceviche. Comes with freshly made tortilla chips. It's our go to appetizer. My wife prefers the chicken mornay (can't remember spelling). Great pasta with what looks like fresh white sauce. The butter sometimes separates out when she's on her damn phone too long and it gets cold... The chicken is seasoned nicely. Overall, great dish. I've had their burgers, sliders, and rib eye. You can't go wrong with any of those. Their sweet potato fries are amazing and never disappoint. The staff is usually very pleasant. Try sometimes forget to refill or ask you if you'd like refills, but usually on top of their game. The pizza bites were comped since the pizza oven was backed up and they came out after our entres. One draw back: they close early like everything on Garth Rd. unfortunately. Food is fresh and amazing. Hand made pizzas with unique ingredients. Huge portion if you get the chicken fried steak. Excellent mahi-mahi entree. Crab pasta is also great. They currently have crawfish which are a decent size compared to other places in midtown Houston. Beer is great with the good variety they have for a bar of their size. Bartenders are excellent and very courteous. I normally sit at the bar so I can't comment on the wait staff. Baytown is doing it big when it comes to new restaurants and eateries, so when I visit friends I get the joy of trying a new spot! This place was pretty packed, and looked to be pretty satisfying as far as the current patrons diving into their meals. This spot is a huge upgrade for Baytown, as it has a nice bar area and a patio as well. Once seated, I had the task of perusing the extensive menu and trying to decide what direction I wanted to go. They have pizzas, burgers, salads and varied entrees. I ended up with the Black and Bleu burger...a blackened burger with bleu cheese, bacon and fried onions. You know, to maintain my girlish figure. The burger was huge and the bun was super soft and had a hint of sweetness to it. I only managed to get through half of it, but the other half made for a great lunch the next day! Finally tried this place after hearing good things. Saw it was packed on a monday night so I was excited about it. It's noisy and has the all too familiar motif of sloppily dressed waitstaff in untucked tee shirts and jeans. I have no complaints about that, but it reflects the attitude of the staff which seemed pretty nonchalant. My waitress took her time about taking my order, but it wasn't an unreasonable length of time. I'm just accustomed to being tended to a little quicker. I ordered a cup of seafood gumbo and fish tacos which the waitress assured me were great. The gumbo and tacos arrived simultaneously (again, the nonchalant attitude). The gumbo was obviously a tomato based soup with an unpleasant taste, and a very light roux. (Not louisianna style!)they didn't skimp on the seafood but overall the portion was miniscule. The "cup" was actually a tiny four oz. bowl like I use at home to combine seasonings when cooking. At $5.99 I would have felt cheated if it was something I actually desired to eat. The Fish tacos looked good. Nice size grilled pieces of Mahi, but again no flavor. They were served atop normal everyday store bought corn tortillas with a dollop of very run of the mill, unremarkable cole slaw in each. I took a couple of bites and abandoned the taco concept in favor of just eating the fish solo with a little salt so it would have some semblance of flavor. The fries were nothing to write home about either. Soggy and undercooked to my taste, but that's just my personal preference. Some folks like them that way. All I can say is I'm glad I tried it on a night when I was dining alone so it only cost me $23 to be disappointed read more
