Who knew? A five star Coffee and tea house in Paducah KY as good as any nationally and better than 80% including their completion in town. This is craft coffee at its finest. Housed in the beautiful and historic old regional Coke headquarters the staff greet you with genuineness and a smile behind which is a thorough knowledge of coffee, how to make it, and a joy in doing what they do. I had a straight SO latte and pour over. The latte was pricier than some but came with two shots rather than the frequent one that requires you to pay for an extra shot. The latte milk was steamed to a perfect 140 rather than the too hot to drink 170+ I received the next day at a competitor. The pour over was handcrafted with care not by a machine. Peter, the co-owner, and CJ, the barista, were only too happy to discuss their coffee's profile and brew methodology. I am not a tea drinker, but my wife is. Peter explained a couple of their specially blended teas they use in latte's. Wow! I wanted my wife to get one of each so I could experience the taste as well as the aroma. Enjoy your beverage at a table with friends as you read poetry on the board or as you gaze out the window next to a wall sized mural that tells their Coffee story. I am a self-described coffee snob having been a barista in Seattle. I always love when I find gems like Piper's who make extremely good coffee and are knowledgeable about the beans they brew. They had 2 different roasts when I was there. I was able speak with the barista about each of the roasts to both identify which one I wanted as well as how best to have it brewed. A classic spot for tea in a great location! Now, consider: these folks are SERIOUS about their tea. They're not haughty about it, though, they truly have the heart of teachers. These people have a strong affection for tea and they're more than happy to share that with you! Every order is made custom for you, so don't be in a hurry. Besides a huge variety of teas, there is also coffee drinks and some baked goods. Don't be fooled, though, the tea is the thing. In fact, whenever I've been for coffee, it had a different kind of taste to it and I wasn't really a fan. The best drink that I've had there, though was coffee based: the mocha. Yum! The shop is in a restored Coca-Cola bottling plant and it's an icon in Paducah. It's beautiful building in the heart of Midtown. Amazing matcha latte! We stopped at Pipers on the way to Tennessee. I usually stop at Starbucks on a road trip but I saw some amazing pictures of Pipers on Yelp and decided to try it. It is less than two miles off from interstate 24. We parked right by the building. The environment was welcoming.The people were super friendly and helpful. We order mocha, hot chocolate and matcha latte. Nothing is overly sweet. Their hot chocolate is among the best I've ever had. I haven't had a better matcha latte. It's been some years, and since the last time I was here this fabulous historic building has been restored and renovated with a bevy of hip and energetic businesses. While I haven't been able to visit everyone of them during my brief interlude, I was able to visit piper this morning and had two fabulous coffees. Perfect little hipster coffee shop. I'd expect to find this place in Portland or LA. When we came to Kentucky to visit some old friends, we Yelped to find a place open on a Sunday to get coffee and chat. The sitting space is limited and a bit confusing when you first enter the old Coca Cola building but there are benches outside in the foyer. I had the Lavender Mocha (I believe) and it was great. I was more impressed with the types of coffee & tea they provided like a london fog, cortado, turkish coffee, etc. I was very impressed and hope to see more great places pop up in Paducah the next time we visit! read more

We were driving through from Nashville to Minneapolis and needed real coffee after drinking hotel coffee all weekend. This was the perfect location to take a break. The coffee is delicious, the drinks are hand crafted, and they have delicious pastries baked by a local baker. I had the mocha and the olive and banana pepper egg bake which was awesome. My wife had the cold press which was great. My friend had the cardamom latte which was absolutely delicious. The building was fun to look around during our pit stop. If I ever find myself in Paducah, KY again, I'll definitely stop by this coffee shop. read more

I like to find local or even regional coffee shops rather than huge conglomerates, when I can. We were in Paducah for about a day and a half on some family business and about mid-day I was dragging, so, where's the best place to get a coffee fix? It's off the beaten path, but Piper's did things up right for us. The space is very cool, in a rehabbed Coca Cola building. It's broken up a bit, but there's plenty of space to spread out if needed. We were on the hunt for a decent mocha and Piper's delivered. A very nice coffee drink without the overuse of chemical tasting syrups I've had at other places. Prices are a little higher than I expected, but worth it at the time. I'll put on my GPS and go looking for Piper's next time I'm in Paducah. read more

Piper's is a cute little coffee shop located in an old Coca Cola bottling plant. The baristas told me the building was in the process of renovation and that more businesses were moving in, but it looks great at the moment! Piper's has a very hipsterish vibe to it, but it doesn't feel so pretentious that the average Joe would be uncomfortable buying his cup o' Joe there... I ordered a medium iced caramel latte. The espresso itself is very strong, but with a smooth taste. I tasted very little of the house made syrup, which was a little disappointing, but the quality of the coffee was fantastic and I did enjoy the drink very much. On the downside, Piper's is a little expensive. My medium was only a 12 oz cup filled to the brim with ice and cost $4.91. It was high quality coffee, but just be aware you will be paying a bit more for it. Overall I really enjoyed my experience at Piper's and it is great to see old buildings restored and revitalized rather than crumbling to the ground. I have to say this place was a little tricky to find, but so worth the effort! It's in such a cool Building (an old coke factory). The baristas were the friendliest and nicest baristas I think I've ever encountered. Obviously the coffee is just as impressive. I wanted an Americano and the barista made me a long black. Perfect.
