This pirate cruise was great. It was as "authentic" as possible. The boat did look like an actual pirate ship, the kids were given vests, a pirate tattoo and face paint. The staff really catered well to the kids and the kids had a great time. The staff may have been actors since the skit seemed professional. The all stayed in character the entire time. They also had a new activity for the kids every 15 minutes, creating a map, finding the pirate, squirting the pirate with squirt guns, finding treasure and eventually a limbo dance. Amazing experience! Our 6 year old absolutely loved this adventure and the "pirates" really put on a fun and interactive show. I saw someone else mentioned it would be cool if the captain/pirates had more of a pirate look to them and I agree, but they still did such a great job regardless. This ride was just ok. The experience would have been great (as you can read in other reviews) except the folks running the experience did not make sure all kids got to take turns. for example, during the ride they get to shoot water cannons. They do this 4 times. The older and pushier kids didn't let the younger kids get a turn and the "pirate leaders" did nothing to help. Another example is when kids find the treasure. Kids are told to just take a handful. The older and pushy kids ran up first taking more than one handful. Then when my kids did finally get their turn if they dropped anything on the floor the bratty kids picked it up and took it from them. the parents are in the back so it's hard to monitor this yourself. The pirate leaders need to do a better job of making sure all kids get their turn. Everyone pays the same amount. Very disappointing and my kids actually cried after. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Our 4yr old daughter had an absolute blast! The staff is so great with kids. Before you board the boat you can have your face or hand painted with a shark, mermaid or crossbones. You get a pirate vest to wear for the ride and you can buy a foam sword for $4 or eyepatch for $1 to wear. They do songs, dances and search for treasure and avoid a sea monster on board. Love love love! My son is into pirates and this was so perfect and cute for him. All the kids had a great time on this interactive pirate adventure. Get their 15 minutes early to check in, get your pirate name and face/body painting! Board the pirate ship and enjoy the storytelling and ride around the harbor. Best part was using the water cannons!! One thing that would be nice is to have everyone in costume. Only the captain was in costume and the 2 storyteller/actors were just in shorts and shirts. Although we went on the early first trip and it was already crazy hot so I can understand why they wouldn't want to. Expensive but worth it! Especially if your kid is into pirates. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of five is that their listed appropriate age is for kids 3-12 years old. My 7 year old loved it, but my 10 year old found it kind of boring. The crew was amazing. Funny for the kids and added adult humor. I found myself smiling and laughing the entire time. This is a must do in Hyannis. It's the best attraction in town for a 4-year old and the jokes and whole production was great entertainment for the parents too. We are in love with this boat trip (it's really an incredibly well choreographed show that will keep your kids attention for a full hour plus from the time of departure to when you get back). Although the actual attraction is a lot of fun, I can not recommend it based on my most recent experience. Our grandson was hospitalized the day before our scheduled ride on the pirate ship. So we called to inform Pirate Adventures so they could fill our spot. No one returned our call so we drove to the dock early in the morning to let them know. Despite our efforts, we received a phone call that afternoon asking why we weren't there and informing us that our tickets were non refundable. We explained that our grandson was at Mass General Hospital in Boston and very ill. We understood the no refundable policy and said they could keep our money, we needed a rain check for a new date. The response was "no way"! Seriously?! Who are these people who cannot make an exception for a seriously ill child? Extremely disappointing to say the least!!! read more

We had made reservations a week prior for a 10:45 cruise on a Monday, since it was on our way off the Cape. On the Saturday before, we decided to see if we could switch to the 12:15 cruise instead. They called me back on Monday morning at 7:30 and said, 'no problem. we'll switch you to that cruise'. They called back an hour later and said that they were canceling the 12:15 cruise and that all the other cruises were sold out for the day, including the one we had just switched from an hour ago. They stated they were canceling for weather, though ALL the other cruises that day went out and it was a beautiful sunny day. They also said that we were the only people on that cruise (a party of 5). So - first off - tell the truth. Don't say you're canceling for weather. Secondly, don't let us switch and say no problem and then cancel the cruise! My child and his cousin (3 and 4 years old) had been carrying around the pamphlet for 3 days. They cried and didn't understand why they couldn't go on the pirate adventure. We were leaving the Cape that day right after the planned 90 minute cruise. They broke their hearts. It was extremely rude and when I told them they basically screwed us by saying that it was no problem to switch and then canceling 60 minutes later, she said 'no, you screwed yourself when you switched your reservation'. We had the greatest time on the Pirate Adventures. There is activities from the kids right from the start and they were entertained the entire ride. The kids sit in the front and the parents get to watch from the back of the boat. It was so fun watching them engaged and truly excited about the adventure. The water cannons were a blast. This activity was just OK - maybe the prior reviewers were in the back of the boat on their cell phones and thought it was fine because they were on Facebook and not paying attention. I was looking at all the kids reactions and while they were not bored...can't say they were all the excited consistently. One reviewer saying that they stayed in character the whole time? Is being in character wearing a floral swimsuit and a t-shirt? Captain got us out and back safely and the views were nice but I wouldn't strongly recommend or consider this a Cape Cod must do with kids. read more

We happened to spot this pirate ship while we were on a ferry headed toward Martha's Vineyard. I quickly looked up the info because every single child looked ridiculously happy. I called up and spoke to an incredibly helpful woman to book our adventure. She took the time to ask my child's name and age and explained in great detail what the pirate tour would include. Very important to get there prior to the sail to take part in the skit/pirate activities. Customer service over the phone was amazing... very friendly and very informative. My child had an amazing time... she was involved and entertained throughout the pirate adventure and cannot stop talking about it. The people on the ship were amazing... never broke character and kept all the kids happy. We had to pay extra for a foam sword and pirate hook but it was no big deal.
