Mileage may vary, but for me this was more a 'B' tour if we were using school grades.

Here is the review: "Tour was just okay. We didn't stop at things people clearly wanted to stop at and there was a lot that no one cared about. The driver (my wife said his name was Richard) was anxious to get through the tour because there was so much to see in 3 hours... I'm like, okay then let's stop at the stuff people want to take pics of and blow off the rest of this crap. He also zoomed by and barely slowed down long enough to take a photo of something other than the back of the hand of the person sitting in front of you... the hand that was still there because they didn't have time to take a pic either. The driver also talked about Obama and Clinton the ENTIRE tour. I lost count at 8 stories. (This is not an exaggeration.) (Owner denied this could be true... ask anyone else who was on this tour... and I'm sure he uses these stories consistently.) I'm not a staunch anti-dem, but this was simply ridiculous. He regaled us with 38 years of experiences as we made our way to and from the cliffs of Aquinnah (Go. It's beautiful and reminds us of the majesty of nature.) We asked all our questions, got every question answered and laughed and sang with Craig on the way back. The last time I was here, I did the African American history group tour, and it was pretty good. This tour was better because it was a private tour. I would recommend Craig's private tour for anyone.

But succumbing to this tourist attraction was just plain good for the soul. We had a large group with little ones ranging from ages 1-8, and some 40 y/o-ish adults who were child-sized and/or child-like at heart. This made for one of the best memories we've made on this island. There was something for everyone. The 1 yo was saying "Argh" by the end, the 3-5 yo's were thrilled to be in the action, and even my 8 yo who I thought may be slightly too old for it got into his "Salty Dog" character, and asked me at the end, "How did they coordinate something like this??" We adults were laughing the whole time. The crew was fantastic, and props to the newest pirate Riptide who would come check to see if the baby wanted to partake in the revelry ;) My sixth star is for the precision and attention to detail, going the extra mile (personalized kids' "pirate name" tags made in advance), good people all around. Took a day trip to MVI with friends who had planned a tour of the island. Unfortunately, when we…read morearrived on island, she couldn't remember who she had booked with. That's OK. I made a few phone calls and Deedee arranged to meet us for an afternoon tour. She is a very enthusiastic MV host. We got a fun tour of things you would expect and some you would not. The narration, history and stories of local life were non-stop. We had a great time. She really is a pleasure to work with and saved the day for us. She was awesome and knew the history as well as all the stories of growing up there. She was friends with the people at every stop. One new feature was a tv monitor mounted above the front windshield where she narrated old 1800's photos of the places we stopped about the history of the island. The tour bus was clean and neat. We had 10 people on our tour. We stopped at the place where JAWs was filmed and had a chance to get chowder from a store on the edge of the pier. We stopped at a bakery owned by a Native American and the baked goods were delicious. The also stopped at the lighthouse, which was a beautiful location. Great tour.
