The coffee is good, the atmosphere is fun and Sam was great hostess. Stop by for a quick pick me up and also lean about an interesting pirate.

Place was a fun-quick stop. Workers weren't very enthusiastic to help us with our orders when I shared it was our first time. It felt more like a tourist stop, museum exhibition versus a coffee shop--would've loved to see more items on the menu. Still a cute exhibition of all things pirate ‍

What a great hidden gem! Much needed caffeine fix in the morning, and let's be honest, hotel coffee just does not cut it! Luckily we were close and it was lie a treasure hunt! Friendly greeting and a heart! What more could you ask for? Well, maybe that skull and cross bones design...LOL! There's a nice, cozy lounge area with a faux fireplace. But there's also a captain's quarters and homage to Lafitte. My only regret is that I didn't pick up some coffee beans. Great place to come to!

I found Pirate King post-breakfast, as is my goal, to find the local coffee places when I travel. Located in an alley in the French Quarter I had no idea existed, I walked in when foot traffic was light (which I highly recommend) and was festooned with all things pirate related. It was so fitting for Jean Lafitte. I ordered my usual coffee drink, mocha breve, light ice, which was to my liking, not too sweet, and enough of the coffee flavor seeping through. I would definitely hit this place again, if I'm in town.

Everyone here is wonderful - the coffee was extremely good - I seen the coffee sign - thanks for sharing

Yaaaaaaaarr my pirate's booty is not to be taken ! New Orleans what can I say? Thanks for this coffee experience. First time being in the french quarter and we were on the prowl for some caffeine. We wanted some local fare besides the usual chicory from all the beignet places around and this shows up on our yelp list. The corsair behind the counter recommended the naughty wench and i obliged by asking "How naughty can you make it ?" The service was informative , the ambiance of the place was straight out of a ride at disneyland , and the drinks hit so hard like you were getting smacked around by Jean Lafitte himself . Take my advice , and make this a spot to visit when you're here in NOLA or you'll catch a bit of scurvy matey !

We tried this spot out while on vacation because it had good ratings and were not disappointed at all. The coffee was really good, the barista was super nice and friendly, the decorations were fun and they even had a little store. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.

It's so cool! If you like pirates, you have to stop here for a coffee. The decor and ambiance is so well done. Their drinks are very inventive and creative. You can even buy pirate merchandise. We had a fun time here on our last day.

The Baseline: For a coffee shop the baseline involves the quality of the roast, the taste of the coffee, and the preparation of specialty drinks/food items. Food: The Latte and Iced Coffee had a good taste and the roast smelled good. Preparation of the drinks was pretty standard without any extra bells and whistles and I wanted the extra "swords and doubloons" for coming to this themed coffee shop. Service: Service was efficient and quick. No complaints but nothing sure extra. Ambiance: This place advertises Coffee and Pirates and the cafe is definitely themed for Pirates and Coffee. Merchandise is pirates, pirate bedroom, pirate themed decor, pirate etc. ... pirates... I know I am here for pirates. If you want to think of pirates while having coffee come to this coffee cafe. If you are into ninjas rather than pirates then this is not a place you will get ninjas, just pirates. Pirates verses Ninjas... Pirates win here.

I was pleasantly surprised at how cool Pirate King coffee was. I wasn't sure what to expect but when we got there the theme of the entire coffee shop hit the ball out of the park. You actually feel like you're in a pirate ship complete with the Captain's quarters in the back. Such a cool concept and even better coffee. I got one of the specialty coffee is called the Pirates Grog. It was actually delicious. All of the staff was also super nice and accommodating. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Delicious coffee and a fun setting! Very creative way to keep the history of NOLA's pirate scene alive today. Not the most friendly service but not all pirates are nice lol

His and hers hot and iced lattes. The personal pirate touch is epic.

Have you ever had a skull in your latte foam?!?!?! I think not. I am here to tell you, it is the little touches like this that make this place a MUST. While in New Orleans, each day, we made it a plan to try a new coffee spot. After the entire time there, we both agreed this was--by far--our favorite of all. The coffee alone, gets the 5 star experience. The staff, the ambiance, the location, and even the cute little store next to it, would make it 6 stars. They have custom designed in-house pirate flavors to add to your coffee--and they truly are tasty and not overly sweet. I wish we would have tried this place at the beginning of our trip, because now when we go, this would be the only place I would consider. I am confident in saying you will not find a better coffee place than this, while in NOLA.

Look for the sign that leads you down the alley!

Searched for unique coffee shops while on vacation in NOLA. This place did not disappoint. One of the coolest coffee shops I've ever been to. The pirate theme was awesome, the inside of the shop was very cool, the staff was super friendly, and the coffee was excellent! Stop here if you get a chance!

Solid coffee, they fancy themselves a museum more than a coffee shop but it appears to be a vanity project more than a true museum.

From the moment you walk into this space, what you are confronted with is tons of all kinds of great and unique everything. Much of it is not only sold by local artisans, but made by them, as well. French market is predominantly an open air location. What you will find here are small shops that each offer a very unique collection of items that are very specific to their own shop. The items that are sold here span the gambit from jewelry, to artworks, to ethnic pieces that represent the culture from where the shop owner comes from. There is really a lot of everything at the French Market. Meaning, this is a great place to get that really unique gift that you wanna get for that special someone or to find that unique piece of whatever that you will personally use. As there are numerous shops here, each business provides a unique buying experience. Each one represents what they offer, and do it from their own perspective. From this, you'll find some shop merchants that are super friendly, very cordial, and more than willing to make deals with you. Others, not so much. But, that's what makes this location truly interesting. All the personalities that make up this shopping establishment. More than simply a place to shop for gifts, artworks, souvenirs, and the like, French Market also offers some great food stalls. So, if you need a snack, drink, or even a full meal, you can find it here. As this is open air, in the summer, it can get kinda hot inside this establishment. This is not bad or good, this is just something to keep in mind. This is the same during the winter months. You can't get kind of cold in there. But, at least from my perspective, that's a little bit easier to deal with. You just have to wear a jacket. Overall, this is one of the main stays of NOLA. It's truly a must see location. And, for people who know the city well, this is a place to go to when you want to find that truly unique item. Truly, you never know what you'll find.
