*this is a cross posted review* I really wanted to take the time to shout out Pirate Parasailing. This is my 2nd time with them -- but they really went above and beyond to make sure our experience was a positive one. For starters, we had a cancellation so at last minute they worked it out to where we were able to pay a difference to let our other person go from Observer to Flyer! My mother had a stroke last month or so which effected her vision, which in turn effects her balance / way of getting around. As you could imagine walking on a moving pier, a shaky boat, and down some steps would be difficult. However, Captain Nolan, Jack, and even the other two riders that were with us REALLY went above and beyond to help my mom. They assisted her, helped her up, guided her, and really accommodated her. Our main concern was having my mom stand up on edge of the boat while we were hooked up but instead they allowed my mom to sit down and they brought the hookups to her. I could go on and on. The flight and experience itself was great! People were nice , landing and takeoff was smooth, and most importantly we felt safe! Thanks Captain Nolan, Stephen & Jack for really making my mom's FIRST experience a great one. She had a great time and enjoyed her outing. I really cant thank you enough for making her feeling comfortable and at ease. We will be back soon! read more

We had so much fun out on the rolling seas! Sailing high above the shore in the parachute, it was so peaceful and perfect! Once back in the boat, we got to enjoy watching the other three groups of people have their turn. Each group (couple) got to be in the air about 5 minutes, then get dipped in the water toward the end, then back up in the air before landing on the boat. The rougher the water, the more likely someone will get seasick while riding in the boat. The operators provide sick bags and have an awesome sense of humor! And a great playlist! read more

If your a tourist or just someone looking for something new to try in Virginia Beach, I highlyyyy recommend this. I did it in August and it was the perfectttt weather.. I'm going to be honest thoughhhh, you're only in the air for about 10minutes and they go by pretty quick [personally wish it was alittle longer] but the views from 1,000 ft in the air are incredible. Totally breathtaking. The boat ride is total about an hour long I'd also like to add that this is about a 3 outta 10 on the adrenaline scale. Didn't get a crazy rush, it wasn't scary at all and you don't seem that high up either read more

Another adventure checked off the bucket list! My husband and I had a fantastic time parasailing for the first time. Parasailing is a very laid back experience, and though I'm normally one to go for the stuff with more of a "thrill factor," there was absolutely nothing I could think of to compare to when we were gliding in the air, taking in all of the view. We had a great time. We actually saw a small shark and a school of stingrays. And before we got back on the boat we got a couple of dips in the water. Captain Ben and Mate Brian were great and Air America actually has the best price of all of the other parasailing companies on Virginia Beach! Most definitely a place to come back to! read more

Such a beautiful experience! My sister & I are very scared of heights, but the team here did a wonderful job in making sure that we were safe & the rope wouldn't broke. I was already having an anxiety attack just thinking bout it and once it was our turn, the captain kinda tricked me into thinking that something was wrong with my swing, jokingly. Next thing we know, we were up in 3 seconds I'm sorta relieved he did that because I would have backed down. Overall, we was hoping it was going to be longer like 10-15 mins like it says online, but it was only 5 mins parasailing so that was a disappointment. Especially for $80. beware if booking as a cruise tour. Were not able to get off our cruise ship on time to get to scheduled time slot due to a cruise issue. We called, and we're originally told we could be stand by for a later slot. On arrival, we were told verbatim, "your boat sat there waiting for you any nobody showed up." We were then told the wind was picking up and no more boats were going out. No refund allowed, not even a partial refund. One of the poorest business practices I've seen. 0/10 read more

Just got off the boat with Ben and Brian. We had a blast. We had to reschedule because yesterday had a small craft advisory. Called and rescheduled was no fuss, no miss. Greatest experience ever! I forgot the three guys names that were in charge but they definitely made us feel comfortable and assuring that everything will be okay! They definitely did crack some jokes though which I enjoyed because not everything can be serious! (That's no fun!). Anyways when we up to parasail it was a smooth and fun experience for a first timer. We were up in the air for 10 minutes or so, the most fun part was when we had a couple dips in the water! So refreshing! After parasailing we were on the boat to wait for others to go, I felt sick from the boat ride but the captain kept reassuring I was okay, which was something small but goes a long way! Want to get a birds eye view of beautiful Virginia Beach, the water, and feel the wind in your hair? My friends and I decided that we were going to go Parasailing during our weekend away here, and it was totally worth the money. I was able to check something else off my bucket list, and it was perfect weather to do so! I was able to see a school? of dolphins swimming and so many stingrays that it kind of freaked me out! This company has the Red, White, and Blue parasail, so if you see it in the sky its Air America! There is so many options to choose for parasailing with different prices but we chose this location for 3 different reasons: 1. The price was the best for splitting it for 4 people- and it went 1000ft which is legally the highest in the state of VA, no prices for different heights. 2. The woman over the phone had such an unbelievable phone presence/ and their customer service when we got there was top notch! ( working in the customer service industry, i was impressed) 3.The owner of the business WAS our boat driver...so we really got an intimate experience..plus it was the red, white and blue! !!! DO NOT BOOK HERE !!!!! GO TO ADVENTURE SAIL This is probably the most unprofessional, uneducated, Inexperienced business. I called 5 hours before booking to get information since I was driving from out of town to parasail with a large group. The information I was given over the phone regarding weather permitting and cancellation was complete garbage. I was told the only way we would not be able to parasail was if it started raining, keep in mind the weather forecast was sunny all day with no chance of rain. An hour away to arriving I CALLED TO MAKE SURE ALL WAS IN THE CLEAR they then informed me the wind in the area was not looking good but I never received a phone call letting me know my group would not be able to parasail. I'm upset because first, nobody informed me wind would be an issue to cancel on us on a SUNNY DAY especially knowing how far I was driving and second if I had never called to check on my reservation I would've been screwed. I understand the concern for our safety but y'all were really about to let me Waist my time driving to you just to cancel and not even give me a courtesy Call !! Thank god I checked the area and found !!!ADVENTURE PARASAIL!!! Who informed me the weather was not an issue and they were much cheaper. My group and I successfully parasailed with their obviously EXPERIENCED CAPTAIN! read more

It was an okay experience. They have a picture package but the pictures they take are mediocre. The staff are friendly so I guess that's a plus. Py have to wait for the while group to show up before you leave, this means that even if you are on time you may have to wait for the others who are probably strangers. Not the best if you are on tight schedule. other than that, I would recommend them. read more

One of the coolest things I've ever done!! This was the easiest experience ever. Sign up was easy and once we got there all we had to do was fill out a short waver and we were on our way. Employees were super nice and friendly and I felt safe the entire time. It was so much fun and while we were in the air we saw a whole group of dolphins swimming right under us!! I was very impressed with this company. The captain and mate were very personable and safety conscious. Of course the day I picked the ocean was very choppy. They were very mindful of the situation and let us know if things were too rough we would go back and reschedule. We were able to get out without issue and the instruction and help was appreciated. I got about 700 feet up - my first time I've ever parasailed. I bought the photo package which was about 35 digital photos. It was nice to have the adventure chronicled for me. Price was ok on that. The photos were average. They give them to you on a disc. They really should consider an online option like Dropbox. Overall I was very pleased with this company. read more

This was our first para sailing experience, for myself and my 15 year old daughter. Everything went smoothly from making the reservation to returning after the trip. Our boat had three double riders. (They do single, double, or triple rides) Everything went smoothly, and the two men operating the boat and flight managed the time efficiently. I did not time the ride, but the total ride was a little over an hour and the time In the air had to be at least 15 minutes. Anymore, probably would be uncomfortable. There was a very smooth take off and a smooth landing. We were offered the choice of dry landing or being "dipped". We opened to be dipped, where our feet and butt touched the water, and then we were reeled in and landed on the boat platform. We were very happy, and even bought the picture CD. For $15, there were about 30 pictures of us. We would definitely go back. read more

We booked super last minute for a ride at 5 pm, and we somehow ended up getting to be the only people on the boat! The girl in the gazebo was sweet and super helpful, and Ben and Brian were amazing. The parasail itself was beautiful, peaceful and breathtaking. Since we were the only people on the boat, we took a quick minute-long swim in the ocean which was super fun. We even saw dolphins! I went parasailing for my first time here. We made our appointment for 11 and as the day approached and weather began to change they moved our appointment up so that the weather would not interfere. Very nice people and very funny as well. Always cracking jokes and making the whole ride very laid back. The only complaint I have is that they seemed to be all about money. They had multiple signs asking for tips and they announced it as well. But overall a very good experience and I would definitely recommend it if you are considering. read more
