The pamphlet they gave us says El Loro sightseeing tours, but on Yelp they're called Miami Aqua tours and also go by this name, so I guess my review will go on both? Anyways, my friend and I were at Bayside and some guy at one of those little booths asked us if we wanted to go on a pirate ship and tour of fancy homes, about 1 hour for $25. The speedboat tours were $75! So, Absolutely! I would have loved to do the sunset tour, but unfortunately my friend had a flight to catch a flight so we couldn't. Anyways! The tour was cheesy, of course, but it was fun. The host said everything in English and in Spanish, which makes sense (when in Miami). They played a good mix of very loud music (Spanish, oldies, etc). The music went along with the tour (Miami Sound Machine for Gloria Estafan's house, etc.) They had drinks for sale but we didn't purchase any. The "pirate" was extremely rude and screaming at us when we said we did not want a picture. He stated "it's mandatory, for safety, I have a job just like you so just take the picture" and began yelling at us after we walked away (after we reluctantly took the pictures). We asked for a manager but he conveniently had stepped away. The picture is so they can attempt to sell it to us later. We didn't enjoy our tour due to him leaving a sour taste. Ended up on this pirate boat last minute because the kids saw it and wanted to check it out. 3 and under are free which was a huge plus so we went for it and took a tour of the bay where we were shown homes of the rich and famous. Everything about our tour on El Loro was great at first. The woman giving the tour was very lively, fun and had a great personality. There were alcoholic beverages available for purchase, as well. Everything was great until we get to the end and were told we won some sort of prize. We were taken to the bottom of the ship and the prize was some sort of scammy time share they tried to sell us on. It was so tacky and completely ruined the entire experience. read more

Looking for a mighty fine vessel to commandeer, my eyes swiftly landed on the hard to miss- bound to strike fear into every man, woman, and child - red ship drifting just off shore. It had been so long since the last time I raid, pillaged and plundered that I felt it creeping up on me like an annoying mosquito. So, I enabled my able body crew and we fiercely took the ship for ourselves! Destined by a fate that had yet to be revealed, we set sail! Destination unknown but we didn't care, we let the wind take us where it wanted us to go! To all the riches and pleasures of the world....or, possibly our deaths. Ok.... So that's not quite what happened exactly. A family member wanted to go on a sight seeing tour so hey, why not do it on a pirate ship?! Makes things ten times more interesting already. Be on time though, it is the only pirate ship tour so if you miss it, chances are you won't be able to do it later that day. As you're boarding, they snap your mug shot with a fellow pirate crew member of the ship. A nifty little souvenir that you can purchase later if you're into that thing. Our tour wasn't overly crowded so we sat where we wanted to but I suggest to at least get a seat near the rails. That way you can look out at the sites and sea. You never know what you might see out in that big blue ocean. I'm a little peeved that on the other side of the ship there supposedly were some dolphins living it up. -_- Those elusive little suckers just seem to have something against me and have forbidden me to lay eyes upon them. What is it going to take?! One day though.... Once you're ready to set sail, the emcee for your lovely experience pledges you into a pirate for the trip. You give your oath to do all sorts of dastardly deeds with your new found title and we hit the open water!! Ready to sack any port we saw! Bring your camera, although there's one on your phone, the zoom feature might not work as well. There was this cool submarine shark thingy out skirting around in the water. That was neat, I've never seen something like that before. It was riding on top of the water and then it would dive down and its fin would be left sticking out just like a shark! I bet that's pretty cool to drive! :) We sailed by some fancy looking houses and were told the big fancy pants that lived in them or used to live in them. Our guide had his stuff down pat and was talking the whole time from beginning to end. Occasionally he played a few songs to liven things up. Especially his theme song which was played about every five minutes because, why not?! They do offer refreshments and I highly recommend you bring cash. **Cash Only** I don't think they accept credit cards so you might be one thirsty pirate if you don't. Alcoholic and non-alcohol available for what ever is tickling your fancy at the moment. The tour was about an hour long and I give major props to the captain who parked that massive ship back in the exact same spot we left from. That was a tight, and practically little room to move that sucker and he did it effortlessly. Bravo! If you're in to all that going around and looking at these gigantic houses that you'll probably never be able to afford, then you'll like the trip. Me, I was more in it for the pirate boat. Would I do it again, probably not.... Maybe if it was another themed type boat. Perhaps Vikings, I mean, that would be a cool looking ship and who doesn't want to be a Viking?! =D read more

I really don't know what this is called a pirate tour.... it's just a ran down pirate looking boat that plays inappropriate music for kids that shows you the millionaire homes. They try to sell you pictures and then ask for multiple tips. Avoid and take something else. read more

3.5 stars. We had a good experience overall and my son loved it, he chose to go on that boat because it looks cool. Staff was nice also. However, the boat was packed on a Wednesday and there was no 6 feet social distancing. Actually, the section we were sitting at had a capacity of 22 and 26 people were sitting there. I also wanted to get a drink, but all the liquors they had were in plastic bottles and brands I have never seen before, so I passed on that, but no big deal. Overall a nice way to spend time, my son is asking to go again so I will likely return. read more

We purchased tickets a day in advance showed up checked in early and showed up at the gate 30 mins early and they told us they over booked the boat and we would have to wait a hour and half for the next boat! Decent boat tour for a reasonable price, but there were a few negatives. Some boat goers believed the music was too loud, and no he is not an elderly man, he just acts like one. It was about an hour and a half and you get to see a lot of the nice mansions on the Miami islands... HOWEVER they tell LIES! The pirate man said that one of the houses was the house from Scarface, upon further review we found out that the actual house is in CALIFORNIA, not Florida! Waste of time and money! Falsely advertised as a pirate adventure by day and party boat by night- was nothing but a cheap tour! Other than the ship looking like a pirate ship there was nothing else pirate-related. The music was bad. They forced the kids to dance because there isn't space for adults to dance. The ship moves so slowly that at any of the tour times you will get baked in the sun. And they claimed that you won a raffle prize then tried to scam you into buying a timeshare! A total waste of money. Not kid friendly at all. They didn't let our 3 year old stand to look over the rail. These people told us we had to have him sitting the whole time when it's a 1hr and half tour while the rest of the tour group were all standing. Which in the end resulted in my son having a melt down. On top of that they charged $3 for a bottle of water. The announcer was boring and couldnt pronounce his words well at all. We purchased our tickets the day before then showed up early for the cruise. We had our tickets and confirmation but they told us they didn't have a reservation and our cruise time was overbooked and that we would have to wait for the next one. My parents, two brothers, and I all went on this boat and it was wonderful!! The music was great, the captain and the ship host "Pirate No Beard" were all amazing and gave a wonderful tour of Miami's bay. Many beautiful celebrity homes were pointed out as well as informative commentary about Miami. We had an absolutely wonderful time and will definitely do it again the next time we are in the area. read more

It was a really nice tour when you have family with young kids around. As a local I know that ALL (not just this one) tour boats and buses lie about what you are looking at, like this home is owned by this person, this by another person, when in reality its probably just some Miami lawyer or doctor. But they ALL do it. Its a great way to have a nice time on the water in Miami and see the homes, skyline and Bayside. Especially great if you have young kids with you, and even better if they are fans of pirate ships and adventures! read more

The actually tour itself was decent. However, all of that was ruined when my husband and I "won a raffle." Come to find out it was one of those scams where they take your money. We should have known better so that part was on us but we did not expect them to be apart of the tour boat. It completely ruined the whole tour for us. We can't believe that this touring boat would have scammers working on them. Please whatever you do if you "win" a raffle do not accept anything, even if it sounds legit.
