motorhome owners be aware. I stayed there with my 4x4 club from 10/26 - 11/2 2025. Very long 5th showed up and parked on the concrete pad where most people put their easy chairs and tables. when opened his slides, he was only few inches from my window awning. later he added very long trailer, his big truck and few quads. I complained to Trish the new manager. For what ever reason she cited with the new comer. (he came for 6 months). apparently the owner give her free hand to do what ever she wants. I never saw her smile, and seems that her judgment is in question. after my review, she cancelled my reservation for 2026. She also lied, sending me email stating that I cancelled my reservation. when I confronted her, she said " it's a standard procedure" to write that way. I come almost every year with my club at the same dates and I reserve a spot a year in advance just before we leave. so, I hope you have better experience and you won't have a reason to complain.

The best part of this resort was the view. Which it not a fair thing to rate it on. Bring lots of money if you want to roll in here for a few days. We had a waterfront spot. Beautiful view. Nice walking path. The daily rate here is very high. Then they add $20 pet fee, $5 daily electric fee, lodging fee and taxes. The cost for 3 nights almost $300 dollars! Where there monthly rate is $595.00! Seems like robbery to me! They do not provide a pet area. You have to go to the next park ran by the county. Advertised to have WiFi. A park of this cost should provide adequate coverage. WiFi never worked in 3 days. People in park said it has never worked. Also no cable tv and no cell service! The restaurant had ok food but worst service anywhere. Totally unprepared staffing. The bar cute and enjoyable happy hour. Probably won't be back. A lot of other choices in this area.

I rented a 10 seater pontoon boat last weekend , I was on the hunt for weeks and called every day until one miraculously became available. Paid the $100 to hold and called when we were running late for our 8am picked up , because we were coming from California. This boat cost $4 shy of $500 to rent for 8 hours . When we arrived they promptly got us on the boat - Great! When we saw the boat it was in horrible condition . Dented , holes in the siding , ONE cup holder for a 10 seater boat , the anchor wasn't tied and had padlocks on the hooks so it was almost impossible to get the anchor to stay , cigarette burns in the leather, impossible steering wheel when it came to turning, every gear shift made a loud thump , and ANTS!!! A infestation of ants came crawling out of the steering wheel box when we started driving! They ended up getting In our cooler and into our lunches . But they stressed if we hit rocks with the new engine we would be charged . Over and over to where we were so nervous to even enjoy ourselves . No deck hands available. And the ladder was screwed into pieces of plywood that would crack when you were stepping up . Ridiculously expensive for a pos boat , and rude customer service .

Sunset at the Pirates Den Late December 2020...

The Pirates Den Resort experience can be summed up in one word -- AWESOME! We just got back from a two-week stay over Christmas and New Years' and had an absolutely wonderful time. This was our second visit to the resort in 2020 and the first since COVID, and the facilities here (already quite clean) were spotless. Lori and the rest of the office staff were, as usual, helpful and friendly. They have a marina with boats for rent and a terrific bar and restaurant on site. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this resort -- the jewel of the river! Just an overall great vibe here -- it really feels like "coming home". Do yourself a solid and give this place a try -- you will NOT be disappointed!

The sunsets are phenomenal. Bonnie Feigt's photo Nov. 2020

We were so…read moreexcited with our new purchase that we quickly started looking up campgrounds in our area. That's how we came across one of CRA's sites called KQ Ranch. Being first time campers we absolutely loved the campsite in Julian. We agreed to the sales meeting during our free stay and of course fell for the sales pitch and bought in. I wish I would have taken the time to read the reviews on the member services and reservations system they have in place. For start, the girls that handle the calls are definitely not customer service oriented at all. When you drop a call with them or get disconnected (it's happens often) nobody bothers to call you back. So it's back to sitting on hold again. One girl will tell you one thing and the other has a power trip and makes you call back on a later date. Then if you're tired of being treated with disregard and ask to speak to a manager. They tell you the manager is busy and send you to somebody's voicemail that never calls back. If they had a better member service system in place I would definitely change my review.

I called because my check had not cleared my account and the person answering the phone said they have problem getting their mail. Just a way to scam money from people. Glad I only purchased 7 year not a lifetime membership. Glad I'm paid off. Never again!

A sign in the window said "be back soon". After waiting in the heat for about 20 minutes I called the number I had for them and was told to use the microphone by the building and someone would come help. Well ok nice to know. We got checked in and were told they had no power or water. It would be on before 9 pm. And then they put us in the second row and said no one but members get the front row. Well you would think if they are trying to sell you a membership they would try to really treat you. There were several spots open in the front row. Our neighboring RV in the 2nd row was about 15 feet away from our front door. Their sewer hose ran right next to our picnic table. By the time e finally got settled in and were able to turn on the AC it was time for bed. The next morning we took our dogs down to the dog beach. Where exactly is it? Had to walk thru other people's camps to finally get to it. It was a pretty good walk from our location which was a bit hard for seniors with mobility issues. After the dog park we were pretty much ready to leave. The park has no shade and unless you want to sit outside and smell your neighbors sewage you have no other choice than to just sit in your RV. With dogs, we didn't want to leave them in the RV to annoy our neighbors who would surely be able to hear the if they barked. So we packed up and left and found a beautiful Arizona state park to stay at. Emerald Cove might be okay for some but it just wasn't it for us.

Before posting, here's a draft you can edit if you'd like:…read more I hate leaving bad reviews, but this experience deserves one. First, let me say that I'm not a high-maintenance traveler. I stay at budget motels like Motel 6 all the time, so I'm not expecting luxury. We stayed at Fox RV Resort last year, so we knew exactly what we were booking--a dated RV with 1990s decor and basic amenities. Last year, our only issue was that the grill had no propane. This year was a completely different story. We arrived on an extremely hot day only to find that the RV had no power. It was unbearably hot inside, and after checking the breakers ourselves, nothing worked. We called the main number, and someone came down to turn the power on. He even acknowledged that it should have been turned on before we arrived. Once we started unpacking, we noticed the back window was covered with a piece of cardboard to block out light. Then we discovered the bathroom smelled like raw sewer. After reading older Yelp reviews, I realized this has apparently been an ongoing issue with this same trailer for years. Next, we found out there was no grill, even though the website advertises one. We had brought a cooler full of food specifically to grill during our stay. We called and were told someone would bring one over. Forty minutes later, still no grill, so my husband called again. The owner answered sounding irritated and basically snapped that it would get there. Later that night, around 9 p.m., the Wi-Fi wasn't working. We weren't upset--we just wanted to make sure there wasn't a switch or something inside the RV that needed to be turned on. Instead of helping us, the owner answered the phone by saying, "Do you know what time it is?" He then went on a rant about how we'd already called twice that day with complaints before telling us to "pack your shit and go." My husband stayed remarkably calm. I honestly would have hung up. The owner also told us, "This isn't the Ritz." No kidding. We weren't expecting the Ritz. We were expecting the amenities that were advertised and basic customer service. The issues with the RV were frustrating, but things happen. What made this experience completely unacceptable was the owner's attitude. I've never been spoken to by a business owner that way in my life. If you value even basic customer service, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
