We were guests at the LaPazCountyRVCampground Spot 4 from 11/13-11/21 (reservation was supposed to end 11/22) however, the morning of 11/21 we woke up to raw sewage running out of the septic tank & leach field in front of our rig, the driver's side of our car & down the passenger side of our rig. Upon discovering this, I immediately called the front office to report it. There was also a tidal wave of cockroaches that were escaping the box & running under our rig. They did send someone out, determining a toilet had been left running. The staff's answer to the problem was to pour a small amount of bleach on the raw sewage & stated water would be used to rinse the area later. We did immediately pack up our stuff & pulled out of the rv spot as our spot was in the process of being flooded with raw sewage making it difficult to exit our home. I asked the office attendant if we would get a credit or a reimbursement & was told no, they would let us use the dry camping spot for the night as we were scheduled to leave the next day anyways. We did pay for a electric/water sight & this was not acceptable. We did park in the lot across from this sight while we loaded our vehicle for about an hour & nothing was done about the raw sewage in this timeframe. The raw sewage was puddled down the road in front of numerous rv's with people/animals walking in the area unaware of the biohazard risk. Yes, I notified the county, No, I haven't heard anything back. read more

Enjoy going there on week days, weekend visitors are pigs, don't clean up after their pets do their business. No dogs are on a leash they just run lose, no supervision. No river Rangers on the weekend, nice park The guests like myself, no boat, no jet ski, just want to enjoy the great Colorado River. read more

At one time it was a hidden gem. During the past five years it has become an overflow of Quartzite snowbird's. It is difficult to get a space with water/power, it's now common to get assigned to dirt overflow areas. The northern guests bring an array of toys that are beginning to give the park a storage unit look. Prices are still reasonable and shower areas clean, though busy. read more

We have a family trip planned for next month which was all put down on one credit card and one email. I have been coordinating with the family to ensure we are all close together. I called today to try and get my uncle closer to us and got Alyssa who says she is a supervisor. When I first called she right away was snappy. I almost hung up on her instantly. However, I stayed because I know we are coming on the 30 day mark. Right away she wouldn't give me any information on the trip I booked. Since we put 6 different spots in each individual name. I really can't believe this lady is a manager she is very rude. She doesn't even answer the phone. I have called multiple times over the last month to get more spots or move us closer. This is the first time I have experienced such a rude attitude. Horrible. I hope she doesn't make the trip miserable as well. read more

The place is nice enough, they have some nice sites at a decent price but no store within miles. And their electric bills are astronomical. I only run my air and my TV the rest is run by battery and my electric bill is 3/4 of what I pay for rent for one month. They said I got Wi-Fi which is non-existent or barely there it takes maybe 3 hours to watch an hour show and usually doesn't work at all. But I've seen this at other campgrounds too they'll gouge you and lie on the brochures and say you get things you don't and it's too late for me to get out of here now so I'm going to start going around and asking every other camper to leave their plastic and aluminum with me so I can recycle it and pay my electric bill. The dark haired lady in the front office is outrageous she is so nice. read more

Large sprawling park along the Colorado River. I haven't stayed here but when I'm in Parker, I take my dogs to their dog park that has two large sections one with a cooler filled with cold water. It's right across from Emerald Canyon Golf Course also run by the county and the course is just amazing and the staff at the park is amazing as well. Way to go La Paz County! read more

Bullhead City, Davis Camp is better. Downfalls: 1. A lot of drunken morons! Some guys were hitting on the 16 & 17 year old girls I was chaperoning, BS! They even invited them to the bar & were constantly ogling them. I should've reported them. Same drunks up til 3:00 am yelling, screaming & shooting off M80's, going by our tent saying: Oh look it's tent campers, SHHHHH! Then letting out loud screams on purpose. A**holes! 2. July 4th weekend the heat was too unbearable. 3. EXTREMELY LOUD, LOUD BOATS as early as 5:00 am! No noise ordinance and management has a anything goes for the most policy. 4. Overpriced. I was told before leaving that I would pay $42.00/night for 3-teen girls, myself and my boyfriend by a guy named Ray who answered the phone. When I got there I was immediately charged $56.00 for the first night and then when my guy showed up later they charged him $140.00 for the additional 2 nights! BS! 5. Dock was not completely padded and when my jet ski stalled and I was pushed by current into the dock the bumpers did nothing and my jet ski suffered a lime size chunk out of the fiberglass! More BS! 6. The boats overtook the river which made sh*tty riding for jet skiers with all the wakes. Also, the wakes made getting in and out of the water no fun. 7. Hispanic moms taking 10-12 year old boys in to use the women's bathrooms where showers, etc are! Not cool. Good things: 1. Memorial Day was more fun and we had cool neighbors. I would say go anytime around May, June or Sept. but, not in July or August. Too d*mn hot! 2. Showers are clean and so are bathrooms. 3. Circle K is not that far away and friendly people and staff. 4. Wal-mart not too far either for all your needs. 5. BBQ's, running water, Canopy for tent/dry camping. Also, has RV spots, Cabins, and RV's for rent. 6. Very pretty scenery, water looks clean and blue and grassy areas right outside your camping area. 7. Loading dock was close to our camp spot # 203. 8. Electrical outlets to charge your phone (2 by dock on each side and 1 by recreation center). There is one in the restroom but, it didn't work well for the phones. 9. Ice at the check-in area was about the same price as Circle K. read more

Beware!! Staff is rude and very unprofessional! We made a reservation for 6 spots with hookups a month and a half before our arrival date. We also confirmed 4 days prior and was told yep they are reserved for our group.. when we showed up the lady at the entrance was Extremely rude and told us sorry we gave them away on accident and there are no other spots available.. we had people drive 8 hours to just be told sorry nothing we can do ... they wouldn't even try to find us another spot .will never stay here or recommend this place to anyone.. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights, the first day checking in was hectic, but we were given a good spot facing the direction we requested. The camp host, Darrel is new (5 days) was already very knowledgeable of the sites and what would be best. Considering there was a few different big events happening; Poker Run for rock trail crawler, Blues and Brews Festival and the Snowbirds coming and going they remained calm and professional. On our second night we moved spots to a waterfront spot we saw while walking the scenic boardwalk area. When we inquired in the office, they suggested an even better one. We paid the difference and were on our way. Darrell even offered to give us a ride to check it out before we committed. That was not necessary, we trusted him because he helped us out the day before. The new spot even had 50 amp service. Darrell and his wife were fantastic camp hosts and because of them we will be back again! Wish we could have stayed longer. read more

The website advertises $2 showers so I went by for a shower. When I arrived, I discovered they didnt double the price or even triple tge price for a shower, they quadrupled it! $8 for a shower in a cold room. My friends said no and walked away. When you are on a limited income you cannot afford $8 for a shower. I will go to the truck stop and get a nice warm shower, fill up my motorhome and grab a bite to eat. I dont know why these places get so greedy. Back home I can shower and have a gym membership for $20 a month. Most counties are not this greedy when some just wants a shower. read more

Summary: Clean, "safe" and well maintained (especially for the price) but lacks basic safety measures and cell service which can (and HAS) actually cost lives. I've been going here every summer for many years and until 2016, there's never been an issue. The campground, facilities (bathrooms and showers, etc) are generally always clean and functional. Sure there's the odd heathen who clogs one of the (DOZENS of) showers with their hair in the drain, but otherwise things work smoothly. The staff is friendly, the camping/BBQ areas are some of the cleanest I've seen and the power is good. Security patrols at night and in MY experience, they've always done a lot to control the noise levels in the wee small hours however the occasional drunk asshat will get out of hand. If you're a woman or have young (teenage) daughters in your party, please be careful and keep a close eye on them. WI-FI does exist, however it's extremely spotty and on that note, don't for a moment expect to get cell service the majority of the time for any reason. I'm talking internet (4G, etc) OR making phone calls. Now I realize the issues with dialing out are in no way the fault of La Paz, but it bears mentioning. Unfortunately, there are zero lifeguards on the premises nor is there any sort of "rescue" equipment available. There also exists no sort of barrier to protect campers/swimmers from reckless boaters and drunk assholes, anywhere on the grounds I know that's not even the norm at most of these sites (Emerald Cove, etc) but La Paz is situated along a big stretch of the lake and this actually poses a major safety issue. I won't go into gory detail but last summer a teenager was swept underwater in the wake of -some irresponsible idiot speeding way too close to the shorelinein - a speedboat and drowned here. It took 20+ minutes to get a rescue crew out, partially because none of us could get through to 911, and none of the staff had any safety equipment. I know that it's not their responsibility but it was jarring to discover that. He lost his life because of this. This is a wonderful campground and great for the price, especially for holidays and special events, but this place may be better suited to the 18-35 crowd or at the very least, strong swimmers and very watchful parents. read more

Paid $16 per night to drycamp here. Nice location, right on the river. Location is a short drive from downtown Parker, the dam, and Havasu. Clean showers and a good sized dog park were a plus. Fellow campers were awesome, willing to loan us their gear such as kayaks. Would definitely come back again. read more

My wife and I stopped by the park on our way back to California to check out the park and see if we would like to pull in and camp with our motorhome but when we talked to the woman in the office she would not let us into the park. I would have liked to see the park and stay there but the office nazi was rude and on guard. Oh well we stayed in the casino parking lot for free and we,re back in California never to return to La Paz. Thanks read more

What a dump! Dirty, mismanaged, if you are there when it rains prepare to live in mud. So dusty when people ride by in cars, UTVs or golf carts dust is everywhere. Waterfront sites have good view of the river, but not worth the price because you don't even have full hookups. The park doesn't inform people that their water is not fit to drink and in fact, is so bad it will damage your rig pipes. I won't let my dog drink the water. Need RO system to stay there. Seems as though every year this park is in worse shape. read more

We have been doing overnight stays at this park for many years. No reservations for overnight stays, but we have always found a site with full hook-ups available for us. This is a huge park and there are many long-term campers. For overnighters, you take what you get. We are happy that at least we can find a site available to us. The Annual trip to Parker Arizona has just come to a conclusion. im sitting here at home, and what remains of my memory, from the weekend is replaying in my head. Every year, a big group of us guys, leave our women behind, and head out east, to La Paz County Park. It is there that we set up our camp, Stoke our campfires, and sleep under the stars. We sit around the fire, knitting, and sharing our feelings. we pass the time by reading the bible, and discussing the life implications of the verses. Shhhhhhhh!! *whispering* thats what we tell the women folk!! how else do you think they let us do this!? Heres the real deal. The second i set the truck into park and dismounted from a 4 hour drive, i was handed a beer and shotgunned the hell out of it. The bottle of Wild Turkey was flowing like it had no end. Have you ever tried to set up a tent while buzzing? its definitely an adventure in itself. We had a fire raging within 10 minutes, and i dusted off my 6th beer(i think). There are about 15 of us guys, and all of us are readying ourselves for the coming shenanigans. We start the night by filling up some glass Sobe bottles with gasoline, and then setting them into the fire..The gas boils, and then blows the frail aluminum cap off, igniting a huge plume of flame. Even though its about 9pm, its still a wafting 90 degrees. The site is almost primal. 15 guys running around a big fire, all shirtless, hooting and hollering at the moon. Later, as the alcohol begins to squeeze itself out of each pore of our skin, we make the trek down to "Roadrunner's"( http://www.yelp.com/biz/roadrunner-floating-dock-bar-and-restaurant-parker#hrid:BvHqWFY0Q9FuC-PosYfQ-g ) Somehow, all 15 of us make the stumbling walk back to camp, the only way we know how to, Loudly. Crooning loudly to Flogging Molly, and Dropkick Murphys, and of course Neil Diamond, and the vocal styles of Journey. I'm writing this review as a big thank you to the people of La Paz for putting up with our drunken debauchery, year after year. We have always met nothing but the nicest people, and had the best times here. I'm hoping to continue to be welcomed back again, and again..and as of the writing of THIS review..362 days remain, until the next Sobe bomb is lit. read more

Been going to this place since 1988. I'll keep going back too. Have progressed from a giant dirt lot, into camping with hook ups, great river front access, a couple of launch ramps, clients range all over the spectrum, always fun to meet new neighbors, walking distance to Roadrunner. Evenings can get quite loud on the big weekends but then again that's why you go to the river on the big weekends. Off peak its real nice and quiet. read more

I was there this past weekend for the Parker 2013 Float, what an amazing time I had floating down the Colorado River! Been coming here for nearly 20 years, and have always been happy. But not this year. They are trying to switch from "First-come, First served" to a "maybe sometime soon" reservation system. But with the resulting confusion, no one seems to know what's going on. Each set of park hosts has a different take on the system. In past years, we arrived, waited in the overflow, or took whatever was available, then when a spot we liked opened, we moved to it. Not now. The first host showed us sites that would soon be open, and told us that we could move up when available. Now another host says we can only move after our first month is up. So if a new arrival gets here before we are allowed to move, they will get the good spot. So much for "first-come, first serve"! If the park wants to go to a reservation system, it should be done with thoughtful planning, and instituted during one of the seasonal changes (between winter/summer or summer/winter.) AND they need to do all possible to publicize the changes coming. read more

Stayed here for the 4th of July weekend and was mostly happy with my stay. Family friendly, sites close to the water, clean and maintained bathrooms, grill and shaded picnic table. My downsides are no store just ice, the river had a lot if waves due to all the boats, and very VERY loud boats at all times of day even at 5 am!! read more

There is plenty going on at this park or nearby and thats what I gave the 4th star for. A golf course right across the street, a full restaurant next door, a great dog park, communtiy garden, mini race car track, baseball and volleyball, plus its right on the river! and a casino 9 miles away. The facilities were kept up but the bathrooms needed remodeling. No trees for many of the sites and no sewer hook ups. One thing that is very evident is the campers here are very happy and love this place! The cost was reasonable for a one night stay - $23. The hosts were very nice to us and helpful but they were bickering with each other and made it a bit uncomfortable. I would stay here again. read more

Looks like a real nice place unfortunately we will never find out because they do not take reservations and I can't really plan a family vacation based on a five hour drive while towing a boat and hoping for an opening. I called on February 17th and they were at max capacity so what do you think they will be like during the busy summer months. I don't know how people plan a vacation that way but I can't. The hubby and I arrived in Earp in early January 2015. We were going to stay at the Emerald Cove resort and were excited at the prospect. All it took was a mere 24 hours for us to realize that this was NOT the place for us: untidy, cramped, no supervision, no internet to speak of, snotty staff, and a ruthless time share presentation to round it all off nicely. Plus it SMELLED. Smelled HORRIBLE. Raw sewage is not an endorsement, people. My husband and I had our Harley and were going to do a fair amount of riding. Once the majority of the campers saw us and our bike, it was kind of like a dividing line had been drawn: we weren't weekend warriors, we were a Bad Element. The couple whose RV was next to ours recommended La Paz - they said it was free, easy, mellow and fun, with plenty of good-natured bikers. We went across the river to check it out, loved what we saw, booked a spot then and there, and went back to pack up and leave Emerald Cove in the dust. La Paz was GREAT: lots of wide open spaces with plenty of room for us and our bikes and toy hauler; clean bathrooms with excellent showers; lots of friendly campers. Best of all are the owners: unlike Emerald Cove, these people care about the campground and the campers, and we distinctly felt the difference. We had wonderful day trips to Quartzsite and Swansea (the ghost town). Our vacation was made perfect, thanks to La Paz. read more

Nice park. Nice people. Been going there for years. On Saturday they have a swap meet in the winter time. They use to have a pretty good food vendor there. However....... I went this morning (3/12/16). I had a breakfast burrito, wow it was not very good at all. It was basically potato mush. It was pre-made in a croc pot type warmer and scooped into a tortilla. I hope they get a good vendor back in there for next year. It would be awesome to see Chili-N- More in there. Real food, prepared fresh when you order it. read more
