I've heard nothing but great things about this cafe, so my expectations were high - I'm happy to report that this place is worth the hype! We were gifted tickets for the German Village picnic Giftory experience which gave us two macarons of our choosing and two vanilla shortbread cookies for free. We chose the raspberry chambord and pistachio macarons while also ordering two pistachio cloud matchas. All of the desserts were excellent. The raspberry macaron was very fruit forward while the pistachio was more subdued, but still had a spot on flavor. Even with sugar coating the shortbread cookies, the touch of vanilla made them taste light. I could easily see myself eating far too many of those. The star of the show was the matcha. 10/10! I've never had a pistachio flavored drink, so I was a little hesitant, but wow, I'm glad I ordered it! The matcha base wasn't overly sweet nor was the pistachio foam overly salty. Perfect mix of sweet and savory. Even thought the line was out the door, it moved at a decent pace and our drinks didn't take too long to receive. Overpriced and overhyped! Visited with a few friends when it was still chilly out and waited in line to order a mocha, a ham and cheese croissant and a chocolate macaron. I think the issue is with the chocolate they use for the mocha but it had such an odd flavor that I couldn't bring myself to finish it. The croissant was fine and not memorable and I won't say too much on the macaron because I think I just realized I'm not really a macaron person so I can't fairly judge them there. The cafe is itty bitty and there is absolutely no seating inside so it's more of a grab and go situation. There are a few seats outside so hopefully you can snag a seat when the weather is nicer. Overall, I think there are a lot of other good coffee shops in Columbus that I don't see myself going out of my way to come back. read more

The atmosphere: This is a super cute café with minimal seating. The front display cases are filled with beautiful pastries, and there is a wide selection of macarons, cakes, croissants, cookies, and more. The food: I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte, which came with oat milk already included. It was a bit thicker in consistency than I expected (compared to other oat milks), which threw me off at first, but it was delicious. The matcha itself was one of the better ones I've had. I've been to Pistacia Vera before for pastries but i had yet to try their quiche which i heard was great.... & I will say, it lived up to the hype. I'm a quiche connoisseur and this one is right up there with Lindeys brunch quiche. I paired it with a chai latte which was the creamiest yummiest chai I've had in a while. It's a small place, and it was very busy when I went. However, the service was quick and friendly, so being temporarily cramped for space wasn't a big issue. I've been coming here more consistently over the last month and every time I am very impressed! Some of my favorite items are the pain au chocolate, honey butter latte, and the yogurt bowl. Everything is so fresh! The honey butter latte is addictive, not overly sweet with a little saltiness! The yogurt bowl is also great, I love the addition of the raspberry jam with the fresh fruit. Three words for you... honey butter latte! Came here after brunch with friends and finally got to try the viral honey butter latte. Unfortunately, I found out only then that the latte was made with oat milk. The lovely barista told me that the oat milk flavor was barely noticeable, and that the whip cream does all the work in concealing the nutty taste of the oat milk. I got some of their pastries to take home and after I tried them all they are nothing short of amazing. It's a good thing that I'm not local to Columbus because I would be wicked fat and broke. Whenever I am in Columbus, Ohio, I make a point of stopping by this bakery in the Historic German Village. The bakery is located in a 1930's residential home. The Reiner family first ran a bakery from this location and the business has changed hands over the years. Today, Spencer Budros is the owner and head baker. You can order online but I stopped by to make my purchases. Only street parking is available for this classic French bakery that opens at 7 am and closes at 4 pm. I ordered 2 macarons ($2.50 each), 1 peach & cream Danish ($5.50) and a lemon/coconut slice of cake ($5.50). They were all fresh, delicious and the quality was unmistakable. I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. In my opinion, this is one of the best bakeries in Columbus, Ohio. read more

This is top 2 best bakeries coming from a CA girly. My first time visiting Ohio and we came back 3 times in a week. The minimal design showcasing all the fantastic desserts was beautiful. We had the pistachio tart, chocolate bombe & crème brûlée eclair. I DIED! The eclair was our favorite, perfect execution of texture and sweetness. Its a must if you're debating on what to choose.
