The shop is very cute and has good vibes. I was very excited to try it, especially after seeing that they make my favorite flavor of cake/cupcake: German chocolate. However my overall experience was disappointing. The staff were not friendly and seemed annoyed when they had to find my cupcake order. After they found my order, they seemed annoyed that I wanted to order a drink. I ordered a matcha latte and it was just okay, but pretty pricey. The cupcakes themselves were severely disappointing. They were extremely tiny for the price. The cake was very dense and off putting. The frosting was also dense. I'm an extreme chocolate lover and did not enjoy the chocolate cupcakes and frosting at all. Everything just tasted very heavy. Their vanilla cake flavor and batter was better. It was slightly less dense and more palatable, but for the price I will not be ordering it again. Due to lack of service and food/drink quality and taste I will not be coming here again. This coffee and bake shop in German Village is the cutest! Staff is very friendly and helpful and they have tons of delicious treats to choose from. I got my usual Chia Latte and it was delicious! I've had Kitties cupcakes at events before, but stopped into the bakery today on a mini adventure. They bake about half a dozen varieties of cupcakes daily, and have some delicious treats and sandwiches, too. I tried the seasonal carrot cake and coconut cake mini cupcakes. Both were so good, but the coconut really stood out with fluffy white icing and coconut flakes on top. I know not everyone likes coconut, but I really enjoyed it! The shop is light and bright, with some patio tables outside for dining/tasting. DO NOT ORDER THE CARROT CAKE This was the first time trying Kittie's cakes, and we were excited to support a women owned baker. My partner ordered the 7" carrot cake for my birthday, and she says that the initial ordering process was very easy and the staff was great. However, she was expecting the invoice to be emailed as a confirmation it would be ready for the date of celebration. No invoice came, so she called the business to which we find out they lost our order. They did a good job rectifying the mistake and having the cake ready in time, but only due to us notifying them. As for the cake itself, immediately it felt VERY heavy for a 7" cake. We found it difficult to even cut through because it was so dense. I honestly thought it was a vegan or gluten free cake because it seemed to not have any rise and the texture was like a dense, chewy protein bar. But this cake did not have any special modifications like that. The flavor was okay and I enjoyed the cream cheese frosting. Although it was half the cake since each layer of cake is only about 3/4" thick. For how much money this was, we are quite disappointed. It's hard to believe that this cake is consistent with what they normally sell. The quality is far below what we were expecting and quite surprising for such a highly reviewed bakery. read more

I live in Gahanna. I work in Gahanna. I drive all the way here for a freaking cinnamon roll and the sea salt chocolate chip cookies. This cinnamon roll is all types of amazing and is indeed the best cinnamon roll on the market in the whole dang galaxy i believe. This cinnamon roll is so delicious. That if this business was based in another state like Arizona let's say. I would make weekly trips out there just for it. You definitely have to get it warmed up. It's at its best when you do that. Oh my goodness. Like let's say I had no money or any material objects to barter with to get this tasty morsel. I would probably try to contour up a cross roads demon and offer my soul up in exchange for just one. The chocolate chip cookie with the sea salt is pretty awesome too. I typically become a big ole greedy mcgreedy and purchase the cinnamon roll and this to wash it down with . The consistency of the cookie and crispy to chewy ratio it possesses is quite astounding. Kittie's Cakes is pretty good. After reading some of the reviews I was a little nervous as some Yelpers complained about items being sold out early. I'm happy to say that wasn't the case for me when I went. I went on a Sunday and they open at 8 or 8:30 AM and I got there at around 11:15-11:30 AM and they still had most if not all items. I was really coming to try their Jam & Biscuits and was excited they still had them when I came. I was helped by the awesome and sweet red head guy with a British accent. He was so nice and asked me if it was my first time in the bakery. I said yes and he proceeded to explain all the treats to me. He gave very good customer service and was very welcoming! The bakery is also very cutesy-modern! I loved it and thought it was a pretty interesting layout. I ordered a Peach Jam Biscuit, Oreo Mini Cupcake, Chocolate Mini Cupcake, Bacon & Cheese Scone, & a Chocolate Chip Scone. The biscuits from what I read are what they are known for. They were actually pretty good and I liked the concept of the Jam being baked in the center. Pretty good and cool. Yeah it sounds like who cares but let's be honest, which one of us actually thought to put Jam in a biscuit before we baked it? Yeah exactly, known of us, that's why we go to Kitties and complain when they run out. Lol! The cupcakes are interesting because I have never been to a bakery that sells minis as their actually size. This was different. The cupcakes were both good and moist. The chocolate was my favorite and was really good! The Oreo was a white cake with an Oreo mini baked in. It had white icing Crusted in crushed Oreos. The chocolate was a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache in the center and chocolate icing topped with chocolate curls. My only thing I wasn't sure about and kind of threw me off was the price of these. They were $2.25 each. I feel like some cupcakes at other bakeries are $3.00-$5.00 for the regular size. I feel they could be more like $0.99-$1.25 each but it is what it is. The scones were both good. I use to not like scones but in the past months I have been coming around to them. Of course the Bacon & Cheese was Savory and the Chocolate Chip was sweet. I love Chocolate Chip muffins or breads so this scone was right up my alley. I honestly don't have any complaints about the scones. Overall, My experience was good at Kittie's. I'm glad I didn't experience any of the negativity some of the other yelpers encountered, but with any establishment you win some and you lose some! I've been looking for the best breakfast sandwiches in the city and Kitties was mentioned multiple times so trying it was exciting. Parking is the worst at this location but once I was able to find a spot I was happy to get inside. The bakery is very cute, and from what I could smell through my mask the aroma made everything seem appetizing. The cashier was nice and my order came out moderately quickly. I ordered a jalapeño cheddar biscuit with hot honey and American cheese. Once I grabbed it and went to eat in my car I was super disappointed to put it politely. The biscuit was mealy, dry, and while it was hot the flavor and texture gave stale. This on top of a dried out sausage patty with a menial amount of hot honey for 11$ damn near ruined my day. Workers have enough to put up with so going back inside seemed useless. I tossed the sandwich after one bite and made my breakfast coffee. Unfortunately, I arrived a few minutes too late to Kittie's, for the two bakers on shift were cleaning up shop. Apparently, the previous customer bought the rest of their stash, and since they run on a "Open till 6, or till we sell out for the day!" operation, my luck for the evening had run dry. Michael and Erica (spelling?) were such a delight. I had a nice chat about the flavor offerings for their cupcakes. Did you know they bake 6 flavors a day, as based on previous demand? Of course, if you want to buy some fluffs, best to preorder a few days-week ahead, and your set. I really loved the setup of the bakery! The fully functional and widely used sliding ladder is pretty freaking awesome. My mind wondered back to the old English library ladders - too cool! Long and narrow space. I'm a sucker for white trim and darker walls. The openness alone completely consumed my imagination. According to Michael, their (new) 2nd location in Bexley has a bit more to offer: Breakfast sandwiches; lunch nibbling, but only offers four of their cake flavors per day. Note to self. The decor, the smell of freshly-made delicacies. You name it. The fact I was leaving a coffee house a few doors down is *completely* coincidental, I am sure, to my enthusiasm in devouring sugar-based doughy delights. Be that as it may, the lady behind the counter was SUPER helpful and even inquired if it was my first time there - my natural state is one of good-natured befuddlement, but in situations where it is genuine it becomes more pronounced. I nodded in confirmation, she smiled, and guided me through nigh-Wonka levels of indulgent items. Actually, I was back in my car by this time, belly growling searching for a treat! The store is super cute and opened on April 5th, 2013. Very whimsical and contemporary, all at the same time. A great photo wall even includes a picture of the business's namesake Kittie, all aglow in her high school photo attire. And the owner Mollie is as sweet as her mini cupcakes and so is Kelly. Hand made from scratch with loads of love. They actually use real ingredients, namely butter. They also craft yummy breakfast baked goods, layer cakes, cookies sandwiches and COFFEE! Along with greeting cards and candy. This store is a great stop. As for me, I had to have a cute little mini chocolate malt with vanilla bean malt buttercream topped with a chocolate covered malt ball. I am a malt ball fiend. And when I floundered for a number two choice, Kelly suggested I go the opposite direction with a white out. That's a white cake with vanilla bean buttercream frosting topped with chopped bits of white cake. The two mini cupcakes were amazing. Absolutely delicious! They don't have a huge variety of anything but I appreciate that they do a few things really well. The Bexley location has more options. They also have a decent coffee selection to go with their treats so that is nice. It's not a big place so I recommend taking your pastries and coffee to go or sit outside as they have a few tables. Now that I have sampled almost everything on the menu, I can confidently give Kittie's a 5 star rating. They deserve it. Let's start with the cupcakes. I haven't tried a cupcake that I didn't like. The Ooey Gooey Chocolate is hands down the best chocolate cupcake I've ever eaten. It is a chocolate lovers dream. The Cookies & Cream might sound boring, but it is amazing. My boyfriend isn't a sweets person, but he is obsessed with this cupcake. It has a cookie baked in the bottom with a fantastic vanilla bean buttercream. Speaking of their vanilla bean buttercream, it is seriously good. I wish it was sold in a container so I could keep it in my pantry and sneak a spoonful of it late at night. SO GOOD. I could probably write more about all their cupcakes, but it would take forever. Just get there and try them all! They have breakfast cupcakes, biscuits with jam and oatmeal/cookie sandwiches sometimes. The breakfast cupcake is fantastic. It's like a cinnamon roll in a cupcake form with icing in the center. YUM. I've tried the oatmeal cream pie and the Cookies & Cream sandwich. Of course, they were both delicious. The oatmeal cream pie has a marshmallow-like filling inside two soft, chewy oatmeal cookie. The Cookies & Cream sandwich is two chocolate cookies filled with wonderful vanilla bean buttercream. The two ladies inside are some of the nicest people I've ever met. They seem to genuinely care about each and every one of their customers. The decor inside is just perfect. It is such a comforting, cool space that makes you want to stay a while. Based on our love of the cupcakes here- and the scones, and cinnamon rolls, and oatmeal cream pies, and biscuits and jam- we asked the fine folks at Kittie's to handle our wedding. We ended up with a spread of two kinds of cupcakes (buckeye, and black and white, both for fairly obvious reasons...) They also made a small two-layer coconut cake for us (another of our favorites,) and delivered everything to our venue. We already knew the baked goods were amazing, and now our friends and family do too- the cupcakes were gone in minutes, and the cake didn't last much longer.
