Came here with my niece and nephew yesterday afternoon. We ordered two chicken platters with hot sauce and white sauce on the side. I also ordered 3 pieces of falafel. It was empty inside, so there was plenty of seating for us to sit and wait. The decor of the restaurant is nice. Can definitely be a date spot. We didn't have to wait too long. The mistake we made was not looking in our bag before leaving. When we got home, we realized we got plenty of white sauce but no hot sauce. Portion wise, it was a good size for the price. The food tasted good. I like that hummus was included in the platter. My niece and nephew enjoyed the meal. No hot sauce added to our to-go order is the reason for one less star. read more

Ah man! I do have a pretty hefty tolerance for hygiene mishaps. More like, out of sight out of mind. But man, this one was a tough one to overlook. The counter guy clipping his nails and sniffling his runny nose like the dam had broken in there. While he did not handle food he didn't handle everything else like sauce pouring and utensils. Food was great, and I wish I could give them more stars. The place is pretty hole in the wall, but that's okay, plenty of small businesses with great food are. We ordered a falafel wrap and a chicken over rice to eat in. While we were waiting, the man at the counter started CUTTING HIS FINGERNAILS. Granted, he wasn't handling food and there is a divider between the food at the front and him, but it's still disgusting. I cringed every time I heard a click of the nail cutter. He was sniffling the entire time he was putting bags of food/trays together. The lady in the back seemed a bit more hygienic as I had a quick glimpse of her, and she was wearing a hairnet. First and foremost the portions were super generous! I ordered a falafel pita and my friend ordered the chicken pita. Both sandwiches were chock full. Initially I thought the sandwich was going to be mostly lettuce (see pic), but after a few bites I reached the falafel, tzatziki sauce, and chickpea topping. The falafel had good texture and was moist. There was a bit too much tzatziki but I prefer that to a dry sandwich. The vibe is nothing special, but it's clean and quiet. The food was decent, but there were some concerns. My girlfriend and I decided to eat here based on the positive reviews, which is impressive for a small, out-of-the-way spot in Piscataway. However, as other reviewers have noted, hygiene is questionable. My meal was fine, but my girlfriend's dish had some unsettling issues. There appeared to be synthetic fibers in her food--too many to dismiss as food fibers. The chicken also tasted off, with an odd tangy flavor and an unusual amount of fat that made it difficult to eat. We initially thought the fibers might be hair, but on closer inspection, they seemed synthetic, almost like pieces of cloth. Even after asking a chef friend, we couldn't identify what they were, which was both perplexing and concerning. Hygiene is crucial, and finding what looked like 100 nylon-like fibers in food is unacceptable and potentially dangerous. While the restaurant may be a small establishment, cleanliness should always be a top priority. I've passed this place a good 50+ times in my car and have walked passed it about 5x on foot. So last night I took the plunge and am glad I gave them a try. I got the cheese meat fries, as they call it, with lamb on top; and it was different to say the least, but in a good way. The lamb was tender and I liked the cheese sauce a lot, weird color but still good. Also got the man and rice platter and I must say, that lamb and rice platter I got was all that and then some, real deal shyt.. had chickpeas and all types of shyt in it, along wit like cut up pita and salad, a lot was under that tzatziki sauce that was like a treasure to the taste buds. Glad to have a certified HMS Halal spot. This shows the owner truly cares about the quality of meat he serves his Muslim customers. The menu is very big and I look forward to exploring it I ordered over the phone and the owner got my custom order spot on. I got a mixed platter with 3x chicken, less rice and every sauce they had, it was pretty good, next time I may ask if they could throw some extra seasoning on the chicken. Was not bad. There's decent seating in the restaurant, the menu is a little all over the place, so I'll be posting new things as I try it. Mixed Platter: Pretty Decent, I would recommend to ask if they could add extra seasoning to the chicken. Came here on my lunch break. When you hear of Pita and Hummus, one automatically thinks of Middle Eastern food. This is not!!! Though it may be middleeastern inspired, the food is just "ok" it's definitely East Indian food. They're no Halal Guys thats for sure. I'm grateful the food was seasoned, but that's about it. I was looking for new lunch choices and I came across this restaurant on Yelp. They had great ratings so I decided to try it out. It's located in a shopping plaza and parking is decent. As soon as I walked in around 1:30pm, there was no other customers inside and no one at the register but I could hear someone in the back talking. I waited about 30 seconds and then loudly said, "hello" twice. Nobody came, then I noticed a bell at the register so I rang that three times and still no response. I finally said hello really loud and a guy came from behind the door, looked at me and did not say a word. I smiled and said hi but he ignored me and continued to talk on the phone. Pretty decent take out place that serves halal food. Their special sauce (literally) is their lime cilantro sauce. Recommend trying the chicken and lamb over rice, and the falafel wrap. I had the pleasure to meet one the owners of this local establishment. Baljeet and her sister opened up this healthy restaurant in the heart of the pandemic and unfortunately their opening was short lived. They recently re-opened again and are offering fresh homemade ingredients for all items! I ordered a chicken rice and salad bowl. I added Turkish salad, chickpea salad, baba ganoush, pickled cabbage, spicy hummus, hot sauce, and tzatziki. Each item had its own distinct flavor and tasted really fresh. Got a side of falafels and grape leaves and they were really good. Falafels were not oily at all and made very well. You really do get a lot for your money. My friends and I had and excellent lunch here! The gentleman behind the counter was patient and helped us order our food and drinks. We all had pita sandwiches that we loved. My chicken was fresh and tasty. The French fries were very good and there were so many in the serving that three of us shared them. The tea was delicious and he even mixed peach and mango for me. On a whim, I thought I'd give this place a try. I'm a huge fan of Hummus and Tahini and had read some reviews on Google - all good. When I went inside, it was completely empty - it was 1:40 in the afternoon, this was a red flag that I unfortunately ignored. I ordered the chicken platter - the guy taking my order was very nice, at first. He told me that the platter comes with "salad", pickled red cabbage, hummus and pita and a chickpea salad. I asked not to get the chickpea salad and he said no problem. I also asked for Tahini sauce, on the side. I asked him how the chicken was cooked and he told me, "Grilled" and I asked is it spicy, he said, "No". The food came through the kitchen door in less than 2 minutes. I got up and went to the counter to see what he was adding to the platter. I watched him add the hummus and then he picked up and large squeeze bottle and started squirt the contents ALL OVER the platter. I tried to STOP him but he had his ear buds in and obviously could not hear me. I stepped to the left and asked him what that was that he squeezed all over the food and he said, "Tahini". I looked at him and said that I asked for that on the side. He just starred at me. I took the food as I had already paid and needed to get back to work. He also had no interest in speaking with me any further. When I got back to my office and opened the container - I was sadly truly disgusted. First of all - the chicken is chopped up in tiny little pieces and NOT grilled. It may have been cooked on a grill but it was far from grilled chicken! The "salad" had no dressing and consisted of chopped lettuce and unpeeled cucumber and the "pickled cabbage was just plain gross. Both the "salad" and the cabbage were drenched in Tahini - which was pretty flavorless. The chicken was quite spicy and also drenched in the Tahini sauce. Honestly the only thing worth eating, after removing all of the "salad", cabbage and hummus and the tiny pieces of chicken was the rice. Pretty pathetic and lesson learned - empty restaurant pretty much means to be cautious or just leave. NEVER GOING BACK !! read more

Simple menu. Simple decor. Simple Pricing. Adds up to Outstanding! I found the food to be abundant in flavor and excellent quality. Nice, fresh ingredients and the combinations you can choose make it perfect, your way. Although some folks classify this as Mediterranean cuisine, it is more South Asian. Specifically, Pakistani, as the meat is Halal. So if you love spices of India, you've got to taste this! I spent some time talking with one of the owners, and she is very friendly and accommodating.
