    Shwarma salad
    Britany S.

I'm glad I didn't share the same experience as the previous reviewers lol. Ill admit the man behind the counter was not sunshine and raindrops he was very straight to the point, no pleasantries. However, I don't have to tip him so its something I can easily look past for good food. I had the shwarma salad. A good portion of delicious meat served on top of salad with taziki. It was good but I didn't like the pickled veggies in the combination. Tasted off. The food was good enough that I would eat there if I was in the area but not amazing enough for me to by pass restaurants in my area to eat there again.

less salad than what I was used too . Wish meats were grilled a bit longer

Great tasting food. However the price hike isn't the greatest. I'd rather get a nice meal elsewhere for $15/pita. I'll stick to Lazeez.

Nasty stuff. One of the worst shawarmas I've had in Mississauga. The toppings are bland and the chicken made me nauseous.

I know a lot of people have reservations paying top dollar for just a sandwich, but I'd say the quality of ingredients and flavourful sauces is totally worth it. I always get the holy cow sandwich with vamp sauce, but will occasionally get the chicken sandwich with lunar sauce. I did try the lemonade they had once, but to be honest, it doesn't quite fit my palate. The lemonade has some sort of seasoning in it. If you've had lemonade from East Asian restaurants, you would kind of know what to expect. They also give you a discount card that you can show for an extra 15% off when you visit. If you're in the area looking for a quick bite, I'd give this place a shot.

This was a hearty sandwich, well over a pound on arrival I'd say. Unfortunately, it was delivered rather cold but not their fault. The toppings options were very varied and appreciated but the sauce could have been more generously applied. This sandwich was crazy filling. The bread was fresh, soft, and sturdy.. and the patties were flavourful. I'm not a vegetarian but I was very satisfied with them and happy I chose this over chicken or beef options. Pricepoint is a big high for a veggie sandwich but I truly feel there is high value in their product.. Need to go in and remove the delivery from the equation for a clear review

I got 3 sandwiches for me and my family (4 people including me). What we ordered: Mona Lisa: 8/10 For both of the sandwiches the bread was very fresh and delicious! They make them fresh for each order and you can taste the quality. The flavours in the Mona Lisa worked really well together, I loved the truffle cream and burrata. Torino: 7/10 This sandwich was also good, but the I felt like it was lacking something, especially compared to the mona lisa. The spicy eggplant just tasted like plain pickled eggplant and wasn't that spicy. I feel like both sandwiches were a bit salty due to the prosciutto, and were missing some sweet or acidic element. I added some balsamic glaze and hot honey at home which was great! The portion sizes are HUGE, the 4 of us were quite full after splitting the 3.

Wowowow I'm so impressed…read more Lambo's Deli does sandwiches right. The moment I got my sandwich, I knew. From of the nostalgic paper bag. A sandwich that's packed TIGHT is packed right. No mess, no stress. That is serious business. The best part is, the ingredients taste so FRESH. As we were waiting, the friendly staff offered everyone free ice cream samples. It was 25°C sunny so it was much needed. No one refused! They're testing out flavours, so I think we will expect to see soft-serve ice cream on their menu in the near future! I got the Caprese sandwich and the fresh mozzarella was so refreshing! Geniusly, there was a layer of breadcrumbs added to my sandwich, which I found very humorous... b/c really? A bread byproduct inside of a sandwich? That was a first for me. But y'know what, the crunch element over the mozzarella was a really good pairing and it works! Also, the pesto was so fresh and good.. that I had pesto on my mind the next day and I just had to find something pesto for lunch again, the influence! Honestly, we did not have the intention of visiting Lambo's that day. We had walked past it on the way to another restaurant, but I remember this corner store with bold modern-80's decor caught my eye. After our original plans fell through, we stumbled back to this street corner which turned out to be a fantastic accident because we wound up loving Lambo's so much, we swore to come back to try the rest of their sandwiches!

This small shop located in Leslieville serves up some great sandwiches in a space that is primarily take out only (although there are a few bar/counter spots if you'd like to eat there. You're also able to add on ingredients on top of the already selected ones in the sandwiches. Each of Lambo's Deli locations also have a special sandwich, where this time when I went, it was the crispy chicken club. They also have soft serve as well (rotating flavours!). I stopped by Lambo's Deli on a Monday morning before the lunch rush and opted to grab: - Italian trio sandwich (soppressata, mortadella, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, picked red onion, arugula, pesto, Calabrian chili spread) - $18 - Soft serve (flavour was hojicha) -$5 Service was friendly and I received my soft serve while waiting for my sandwich to be prepared. It took about 5 min and it was nicely packed. Staff were great and handed me a handful of napkins as well. I ate my sandwich an hour later and before opening the packaging, the sandwich was pretty heavy! Looking at a cross section of the sandwich, it was packed with ingredients! The Italian Trio sandwich was delicious. The roasted red peppers, pickled red onion, arugula, and Calabrian chili spread added freshness to the sandwich which didn't make it feel so heavy with all the deli meats inside as well as the mozzarella cheese. The sandwiches are big and I could only finish half for lunch. Overall, a delicious sandwich shop in Leslieville. Lambo's Deli definitely packs a lot of ingredients in their sandwiches which make for a tasty meal. Be warned, the sandwiches are huge! Also...don't miss out on their soft serve too!

I have fond memories of eating veal sandwiches. My dad use to get these long veal sandwiches from a…read morefood truck that would stop by his workplace years ago. He brought one home and I devoured it. The bun was soft, the veal was breaded and tender, the marinara sauce was fresh, and it had onions, peppers, and mushrooms that made it the best sandwich. He bought them for me late in my high school and all through my undergraduate years. I moved away. He retired. Veal sandwiches died. Coming back to the GTA, the best veal sandwich I have had is from California Sandwiches. This location is the closest one to my workplace. On Saturday, I had to go into the office and stopped by this location to grab a bite before getting down to work. This location is on Dixie, just north of the 401. You expect tired, hungry truckers around this area on a Saturday. Then, you have folks like me. I wanted a veal sandwich and was hungry. Parking in front of the eatery is limited. I got a spot out of the possible five available. There is also a back entrance where there is more parking. I walked in. There was a woman ahead of me ordering three sandwiches. I already knew what I wanted. This California Sandwiches looks dated from the outside, but is pretty decent inside. I finally got to place my order for a veal sandwich with mushrooms. Technology-wise, the woman took my order down on small pieces of paper. The only modern thing seemed to be the debit machine. Judging by the sign where it said it accepted cash, scribbled in pen underneath was debit. I was armed with both and paid with cash. Everyone there seemed to be Italian. I liked the homey vibe. She asked if I wanted anything else. I got a bottled diet Dr. Pepper. I found out later on that there was San Pellegrino. Oh, well. I'll get that next time. This California Sandwiches is a bit different. You can buy bottles of marinara sauce to take home. Fish and chips are on the menu. If you can fit poutine in your tummy with your sandwich, it's available. Finally, if you feel like pasta, you can get some here. I loved all the choices. It took a bit of time to get my order. There were three orders ahead of mine. Finally, my sandwich was ready. The woman who prepared asked whether I was dining in. I was. No tray. Just the sandwich wrapped in paper was handed to me. I loved all of it! The woman called me sweetie when she handed me my sandwich. It was endearing. I happily sat down and looked forward to chowing down. Why do I love California Sandwiches? The veal is larger than the bun. I opened my sandwich up and felt so happy looking at such beauty. It came with lots of napkins. You need all of them! I took my first bite. I was in heaven. The veal was tender. The breading was perfect. It was light and yummy. I loved the marinara sauce with little chunks of onion. Finally, all those sliced mushrooms got my seal of approval. The yummy bun held everything together. Some have complained that it's expensive to get a sandwich here. With taxes, my sandwich with mushrooms and a bottled drink came up to $14.50. Considering that my sandwich was huge, packed with goodness, and I didn't eat anything until dinner, it's all worth it to me. It does get messy eating this sandwich. After I was done, I washed my hands in the women's washroom. It has two stalls. It was clean. It's dated, but everything works. I'd come back here again for another yummy veal sandwich. It's good reliving good memories while creating new ones. (169)

The service was friendly and they took the time to answer questions from customers. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Meal and the portion size was big. They were quite generous with the serving. I got mine with potatoes and salad but you can opt for rice. The chicken was cooked fresh per order so expect a bit of wait time. The Greek salad was fresh and refreshing. I also tried their Biggies sauce which was similar to a garlic aioli (explained by the server). The garlic flavour was relatively mild compared to other ones I have tried. The chicken was boneless and grilled. It was a tad bit dry but good thing they put a lot of sauce. I'd like to try their sandwiches in the future.

Tips: - The porchetta sandwich is divine!…read more- Biggies is beside Pizza Pizza and a few doors down from Kung Fu Tea. A recent Yelp elite experience put Biggies Gourmet Foods on my radar. For years, I have visited this plaza that has Biggies, but never noticed it until now. Biggies used to be called Porchetta Roll. I dropped by after work on a Wednesday. It was roughly 2:30 pm. This eatery is roughly a ten-minute drive from my workplace. It's in a plaza that I visit regularly. It has Cora, Kung Fu Tea, and Lezzet Shawarma that I like. It's easier to look for Pizza Pizza. Next to the orange sign is Biggies. I found an available parking spot fairly close to Biggies. I backed into the spot and walked over to the eatery. A female customer was ahead of me. She picked up an order and left. The nice man behind the counter cheerfully said hi. I reciprocated. He asked me what I'd like. I had looked at the list of sandwiches and mini meals before dropping by. I had the porchetta sandwich on my mind. After all, if it was a part of the original name, it must be good, right? He went ahead and made my sandwich. I saw him lightly toast what looked like a kaiser bun. The place smelled good. The porchetta is roasted for a good twelve hours. It has garlic aioli, mustard, sautéed onions, and arugula. He saw me looking at the Biggies cap. I loved it so much with the cute bear logo. I let him know that I'd be back for it and the meatball sandwich. The photo alone of this sandwich made me salivate hard. He handed me my sandwich in a paper bag. I thanked him and wished him a great day. He hoped that I'd like the sandwich. I left and headed to my car. I was still stuffed from lunch. I ended up running a bunch of errands before heading home. I had this sandwich as a snack watching the Winnipeg Jets game. This sandwich was massive! The man had wrapped the sandwich such that it was upside down with the arugula at the bottom of the top bun. It was interesting. I loved how tender the porchetta was. It was so flavourful and yummy. The garlic aioli and mustard were the perfect pairing of condiments for this sandwich. I loved the sautéed onions that brought out the natural pork flavour while providing some sweetness. I normally don't like using arugula in salads or anything because it tends to overpower everything with its peppery, bitter, nutty taste. I feel like the baby arugula chosen for this sandwich wasn't as in-your-face in boldness as it can be. It was a light peppery flavour that worked well with the other ingredients. This sandwich was so good. I am still thinking about how awesome it was. The porchetta sandwich goes for $12. It is packed with a lot of love. I'd definitely return and get another one. It's worth it, as the sandwich is massive. I had a great experience at Biggies. I'll be back for more good eats. (110)

You can really feel the care and personality behind the space, which added so much to the overall visit. We tried a variety of items, but the Pizza Caesar Wrap was easily the standout and our favourite thing we ate. Crispy, cheesy, messy in the best way, and packed with flavour. Even better, $3 from every wrap goes toward supporting Daily Bread Food Bank through their $30,000 fundraising campaign, which made ordering it feel even more worthwhile. We also really enjoyed the Spicy Ham & Cheese, which had the perfect balance of spicy, creamy, salty, and savoury flavours. The Gourmet French Hot Dog was another highlight with its sweet and savoury flavour combination wrapped in a buttery, flaky croissant. The Four Seasons sandwiches were a fun concept inspired by the Blue Jays, and while the Chef's Choice wasn't our personal favourite, some people at our table enjoyed it more than we did. For dessert, all of the cookies were freshly baked in-house and surprisingly good for a grab-and-go style spot. The double chocolate chip was rich and soft, and the white chocolate cranberry and macadamia cookies were both solid classics. The iced matcha latte with oat milk paired especially well with them, and the iced vanilla latte was smooth and easy to drink. The space itself is bright and open with big windows that bring in lots of natural light during the day. Seating is cozy, but the layout still feels spacious and comfortable overall. Overall, a playful comfort food spot that offers catering with genuinely friendly service, creative menu items, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back.
