I came by recently for lunch and didn't realize I dined here years prior. So many Pita Way restaurants opened up since then and I think that's a great thing. The food here is fresh, delicious and of great value. Endless customization options make it so that you'll never get the same thing on subsequent visits (unless you want to). I'm not the type to finish food in one sitting, but this was one of those rare exceptions. 6/30/23 After getting picked up at the airport, I told Zach I needed to eat something since it was a long day of traveling to Michigan (I caught a red eye + had to do a 2 hour layover). As he was driving, I picked out Pita Way due to the high ratings. Pita Way is located in a plaza with other small, quick bite restaurants. We parked right in front. It's a small establishment with some tables for people to sit inside. The person helping us that day had a super strong accent so it was kinda hard to understand what he was saying. We originally wanted to order two gyro sandwiches, but after some back and forth, he ordered two lunchbox combos... Zach and I were confused as to how he got that and when he was ringing us up, we tried to clarify with him that we didn't want that...He insisted that was what we ordered so we gave us and paid for the lunchbox combos. Either he was new and untrained or just ignorant of what we were saying with no customer service skills. I can't remember what the meat was in the sandwiches, but it wasn't good compared to the Mediterranean food I've eaten back home in California. The chips in the lunchbox was brittle. I love Pita Way. It's one of my go-to lunch places. You can build your own bowl or pita sandwich any way you'd like and there are plenty of options for toppings. If you do it right, this is one of the healthiest spots you can find a lunch, but you have to be careful with what you pick. Service is always pretty speedy at lunch for both walk-ins and online orders. My wife and I also love this for a quick dinner when we don't feel like cooking. read more

Sadly this place was a disappointment. I am a lover of middle eastern food and I have to say Pita Way isn't authentic at all. I ordered a bowl and "the Dearborn" which is pretty much a basic chicken shawarma. All the ingredients in the bowl tasted pickled and not fresh or maybe like they were soaked in too much lemon juice....therefore making everything in the bowl sour. There was nothing I could do to fix the taste. Portions aren't anything to rave about especially for the price. The shawarma wasn't bad but definitely not the best I've had. One of our friends suggested we try this place since it was quite similar to one of our favorite Mediterranean fast food spots - in Southfield. We decided to try it this weekend as we had to grab a quick lunch in this area. The place was clean and looked like a well kept Qdoba. We were 4 of us and I ordered the Sandweech with Gyro meat (made it the Pita way) ; my wife got the quesopita with Falafel; my kid got a kids meal with the dark meat chicken and my wifes cousin got a pita way bowl with dark meat chicken as well that comes with chipotle sauce. We also got a fire fries for the table and that was the best thing of all of what we ordered! Service was fast; the kitchen was clean and the meat was fresh and food quite tasty. I wanted to love it. I like that you can create your own bowl. I would not pick shish kafta again. Their shish kafta is odd. There is a hole in the middle of it. It's just not shish kafta the way I know and love it. It was a tad oddly spiced and off texture. It wasn't horrible or anything it just wasn't...good. The rest of my meal was great. A side fattoush salad with super zesty dressing. Happy, big portion and fantastic taste. All the choices and variety in my bowl, also awesome. I liked both hummuses and the garlic sauce. They were generous with portions on rice, meat sauce and veg. I just could not get past that kafta. Next time I'll try chicken. read more

We hit this Pita Way up at least once a week. It was out go-to today to beat the 87 degree heat and stay out of the kitchen. We were greeted friendly and offered friendly service right away...the only issue I had was that the tabbouleh was at the bottom of the container and most of that was scooped up for our first rice bowl BUT when they were preparing ( and I say BOTH because both of the prep people did it...) our 2nd bowl there was barely any tabbouleh left and instead of bringing out a fresh container of tabbouleh the 1st prep person put down the scooper and started scraping the scrapes left to form a ball with his fingers and once he had his form he sprinkled it on top of my rice!...then with those same fingers spread it out to make a covering over the rice. Once he did that and passed it down to the next prep person I stated that I would actually like a bit more tabbouleh and as I was just forming the words to ask for some out of a fresh batch she was offering to do just that but then once she pull the virtually empty container out, instead of getting a fresh batch and transferring whatever remained in the empty container with a spatula to the fresh batch, she too just used her fingers to scrape up any essence of tabbouleh that may have been left WITH HER FINGERS and put that on top of my rice! I couldn't believe it and I should have rejected the bowl but we paid and left. I tried to eat and enjoy my food but the image of both of them using their fingers like you would to get the best crumbs and seasoning dust nestled in the corner of that bag of bbq potato chips haunted me and I couldn't eat it. I recognize they are wearing gloves but they are handling utensils which were put down and picked up and just visually it was VERY DISTURBING to see. PITA WAY if you are reading this, PLEASE provide you staff with a spatula and guide them to replenish containers of food that are almost empty before serving your patrons. As I replay what they both did with my food I just feel like I am not interested in visiting your establishment any time in the near future. It just wasn't a good look for food handling ...and I left a $5 tip even though I didn't feel they prepared my food with care - they were very welcoming and friendly. read more

I first had Pitaway at a luncheon at work about a month ago and absolutely loved it. I finally figured out where it was ordered from. It wasn't from this exact location, but I figure they'll all be just as delicious. Such a great experience from the moment I walked in today. Customer service was phenomenal. I wish I'd had asked his name. He let me try ingredients that I wasn't familiar with and I ended up liking majority of the recommendations. Delicious! I ordered a 50/50 chicken and gyromeat bowl with almost all the toppings. My bottom layer was yellow rice with shaved almonds and golden raisins followed by hummus, garlic, tabbouli, various pickled veggies, beets, feta, tzatziki, and topped with a spicy feta type sauce. Okay, I was admittedly a little skeptical of the 5 star rating, so I finally tried the place for myself. It was very busy, but overall excellent, so I came back the following day to try something else on the menu. There were some minor throughput issues with order processing, but nothing extraordinary or unforgivable for a relatively new staff, so (and this is where I might seem a bit creepy), I came back for a third day in a row. I swear I'm not stalking the place, it's just really good and fits in with my New Year Resolution diet plan surprisingly well. Not at all creepy, with that in mind, right? I will say it would be nice to have access to the nutritional information, which appears to be unavailable on the menu and online. That's something the owners are going to want to address, hopefully soon. Anyway, it's still a relatively new restaurant, so some kinks in the process are entirely within reason and easily excused by the friendliness of the staff and their desire to do well. That part will only get better, I'm sure, and the truth is, this place can be packed for lunch. Your patience will be rewarded by surprisingly fresh and good food. Think of a simplified Mediterranean Subway. Yes, the highly customizable assembly line of fast food concept is getting routine and, to be honest, a little tired. However, at least this one offers something other than boring toasted sandwiches! So, after three consecutive days of eating lunch here, I find I'm the Duke of the place and still haven't found any serious or legitimate complaints to address. I came in here for the first time to pick up some lunch and I was thoroughly impressed. It was extremely clean and the employees were very nice. I got the Pita Way Bowl which I made mine with: lettuce base, tawook, cucumbers, tourshi, black olives, beets, hommus, garlic and fattoush dressing. Next time I will take a picture and upload it...seriously amazing!!!! My boss and I were in awe with how yummy the tourshi was too, so definitely add it on if you stop in here. read more

We had been wanting to try this place for awhile but we really didn't know how it worked. It's basically like a Chipotle concept for Mediterranean food. Since I wasn't exactly sure what to get, the person assisting us was helpful with picking vegetables and dressings. I have to say that it was really tasty but I feel like there were maybe one too many flavors going on at once. I think that comes down to perfecting what tastes well together.
