I am squeezing out a three rating by the hair of my chinny chin chin. Prices are reasonable with good sized portions. We ordered an assorted platter and it was dull in comparison to the plethora of choices with the same cuisine in the area. The meat was a bit dry and over spiced with (allspice?). It was hard to taste the meat itself. The chicken was a bit charred and dry. The accompanying dishes were fine but nothing to write home about, except on Yelp of course. read more

Authentic food and vibe. Promptly greeted with a friendly welcoming smile. I ordered carry out and my food was ready in 7-10 minutes. The interior decor was nice and spacious. Modern Arabic music was playing in the background ground and the hostess was singing along as she worked which in my opinion promoted a happy festive vibe. The food was excellent tasting, generous portions at a reasonable price. This place will be my spot when I am in the area. read more

The name of this restaurant is not deceiving. It truly is tasty! I ordered the lunch chicken over hummus with lentil soup and a strawberry/banana/honey smoothie. Everything was delicious! The hummus was smooth and creamy. The chicken was juicy with a nice char-grill on it. The soup was full of flavor. And the smoothie was a perfect. The service I received was friendly and inviting. I definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

I ordered a chicken shawarma platter and I got grilled chicken ! That's not a true chicken shawarma, shawarma meat - lamb,beef,or chicken is cooked on the rotating wheel... Shawarma - is meat that is cut thinly into slices and stacked in a cone like shape turning slowly on a vertical rotisserie or spit. Well that's not what I got! I will not be going there again ! I am half Palestinian I know how it's cooked ! I called and they tried to tell me that only lamb is cooked on the wheel well they wrong, they woman told me she middle eastern and has been doing this for a long time .... WELL your wrong ! I am so glad I decided to order take out from this place yesterday! My dad and I got the chicken shawarmas, they were huge! I also felt like having some salad, the medium was a lot, I had it left over for dinner. I saw another review recommend the mint lemonade and I'm sooooo glad we got it to try it we absolutely loved it, so refreshing! I can't wait to order carry out again from here! read more

Very bad service the cook in the back got mad because the way we ordered are food started yelling at the waitress we asked if everything was ok we heard him cussing and slamming things in the back we got up to leave he came out he wasn't even apologetic he told us leave I don't care they should fire him but we think he was the owner read more

I feel like I should be writing 3 separate reviews for this restaurant: one for the food, one for dining in, and the other for take out service. In terms of food, this is a 5-star place. Food is what brings people in, and it's excellent. The service is what brings people back, and in the restaurant, it's very good... good service and comfortable atmosphere. For carryout, this is where they struggle, in my opinion. My order is wrong seemingly every time I order carryout, and it seems there is something different wrong each time. From missing items from the order, getting the wrong meat, ordering and paying for specific add on our things in the side but not getting them in the order, etc. Unfortunately when I call and inform them that my order was wrong, they have casually apologized but made little effort to correct or resolve the issue. 2 different areas with 2 different experiences, but the constant is the great food! I say 3.5 starts overall, but due to no half - stars, I'm going with 3. The carryout experiences have been quite frustrating over time. read more

Lamb shawarma was excellent. Got a tray to serve up 4 ppl. It came with 2 beef kafta, 2 chicken kafta and lamb shawarma. Rice soup salad This place is 19 minutes away and they make Deliveries. with a charge of a 1$ per mile. No big deal. Awesome right. It took them an 1:36 minutes to deliver my food.i was already starving b4 I ordered now I'm mad and hungry. Wen they arrived and paid. No tip. I Opened it nd it was still hot warm. Good. First time here, carry out order. Had the medium chicken fattoush. $9 for a huge salad and lots of chicken. Great deal. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. The chicken was juicy and tender. And the garlic paste was so good. I loved the fact that salad wasn't mixed already so I didn't come home to a soggy salad or a car with salad dressing all over it. My opinion is , you cannot get a better professionally Prepared middle eastern meal in the area at amazing reasonable prices. The meals are always fresh and hot with nice presentation for a small restaurant. Service is excellent with the staff and the Chef always greeting you with a smile. To give you that warm small Town atmosphere feeling. I recommend Tasty Kebabs for lunch or dinner any day of the week! For hot quick and fresh food for dining in or Carry out. read more

Craving some Middle Eastern food, decided to hit this place up for the second time. It used to be Pineland for years, which I would go to all the time. According to the waitress which has waited on me for years, the owners brother took it over so the food is the same. When there is like 3 of us we usually get the huge Tasty Kabob plate which is a ton of food. But this visit I decided to get the standard combination plate so I would have leftovers for a couple days. A lot of food for just $24.99. I got the Fatouch salad with it and it was very large. Ask for extra garlic sauce its yummy! Food was hot, and plentiful. Service as always was great. This is definitely going to be one of my usual stops. My last visit I had the lunch special which was a pita sandwich and salad. Was very filling. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma pita and fatouch. This place has recently been redone and is under new ownership! A few things have changed on the menu. Prices have changed I believe spices and ingredients have changed as well. The decor inside has changed. We are after and got carryout from this location before but the prices started to go up, once under new ownership this place has seemed to level out quite a bit. I am excited to see any other new improvements they may be working on. My mom really likes the kibbie. My personal favourite is the grape leaves. I also like the desert they have and the rice is very good and the garlic dip always seems very fresh! I love home-made garlic sauce! Fresh bread and friendly staff is always a great place as well! Where always excited to visit this local restaurant. The last few times I have wanted to order juice or smoothies they were either out of ingredients or the machine was down. On my last visit I managed to get a smoothie I believe strawberry of some sort? It honestly tasted very Syrupy and not very fresh. They may just use are use and a prepackaged juice flavour. Went in last night late cause in just wanted to get something small. Got the chicken shawarma and a small baba ganouj. Probably the biggest shawarna sandwich known to man and it tasted great. Went for lunch, got the shawarma combo. Chicken lemon soup was bright and colorful. Small chunks but I personally enjoyed that, might be better if you ask for lemon to squeeze in. Combo itself was delicious. Fries were a bit bland but they were crispy and still decent. The garlic paste here is light and airy, like it's whipped. One of the BEST Lebanese restaurants in the Detroit area. There are a lot of them. They've been in business for 25yrs. In the restaurant business...thats a lifetime. They were formerly called "Pineland". They are under new ownership. I believe the new owner is the brother of former owner. I lived in Westland 19 yrs ago, but a lot of my family has lived there for my whole life. So Ive been eating here for as long as they've been there. Just went last night after dropping my mom at the airport. The portions are enough for 3 people. I live in Lansing so there aren't many options here. Very few are authentic. Have ordered the carry out about 4 times now. They never get the order right. This last time called and the woman who answered was rude when I explained I didn't get the French fries I ordered and that I had gotten 2 salads when I asked for no salad. I ordered two meals one with rice one with fries. Upon telling her I didn't get fries but got salad she said it comes with either rice or fries and salad. I said yes and I ordered one with fries. At that point she hung up on me. The half deboned chicken is simply chicken breasts sliced thin and grilled. Not a true deboned chicken. Will never be ordering from here again. read more

I want to give less than one star! What a croc of s%^#!!! Spent way to much money on food that was half ass, half missing and burnt!!! Wait, the cherry on our Sunday? Some of it was burnt and we call (as we had to go back for parts of our order) and they began to argue with us about how it was "not burnt." The woman said "she looked at it." Wtf? I was very excited for the rest of my meal when they served us complementary garlic on the house(which was delish)We ordered the Tasty Kabob Plate which was suppose to feed 2 to 3 people but we ended up taking left overs! The waitress was very attentive checking up on us every 15 minutes. The quality of the food is the real deal! And they are not cheap with the food! The shish tawook was my favorite. It was tender and juicy yummm. Tasty Kabob is definitely my to go place from now on. I was looking for a Middle Eastern restaurant around my area and I finally came across one. They have very large portions, affordable prices, and the food is always fresh. The inside was not ornately decorated as some of the fancier places in the area that serve this type of cuisine. Between the booths and tables, my estimate was that the seating capacity was around 50 customers. The menu booklet contained several pages of offerings across the categories of appetizers, soups, salads, sides, wraps/subs, traditional dishes, and seafood/chops. For beverages, there were juices, smoothies, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. My friends each chose a different type of wrap for their meal. I picked one of the entrees from the traditional dishes which was the Gallaba over Hummus. In my hometown, I don't see gallaba as often as items like shish kabobs and shawarma. My order consisted of a choice of meat (lamb was my pick) sauteed with green peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, and carrots with special spices added. The mixture was served on a bed of hummus with my choice of rice on the side. A cup of chicken rice soup (instead of lentil) also came with this traditional dish. While we were waiting for our food, a basket of warm pita bread and a cup of garlic spread were provided. The spread was very pungent so I used it sparingly. An extra dinner salad was mistakenly added which I saved for leftovers. The gallaba was essentially a Middle Eastern version of a meat stir fry. The pieces of lamb were tender and not gamey. The spices added flavor but not saltiness. Between the bread, soup, rice, and gallaba, it was a generous portion size that also became leftovers for later. For the quality and price of my meal, I gave a four star rating for our visit to The Sheikh Restaurant.
