Gyro with Feta cheese on it.
Sherryl B.

We got 2 gyros and a small Greek salad. The salad was good. But the gyros were terrible. I used to get them a lot but the last 2 times (today was no exception) the meat is dry and overcooked. Did not taste good at all.

Greek Salad with Gyro Meat
Adam P.

The perfect place for an authentic Greek salad. Clean and friendly establishment with a good sized menu. I was tempted to get a big breakfast but came in for their Best Greek Salad and stuck to my guns. Plenty of real food with the lettuce - feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, chick peas, and tasty olives. (Ask for extra olives) I added the gyro meat and had to sample several pieces dipped in the dressing before diving into the salad.

Good food, clean restaurant, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Gyro and eggs with a side Greek salad is my go-to.

I always appreciate a good fast-casual style restaurant that offers an easy menu with good and healthy options, so I was looking forward to trying out The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill in West Bloomfield! Upon first glance, the restaurant looks very chill, well kept up, and has tons of seating options. The staff was also very kind and continually offered to help with anything during our visit. However... I have two main qualms. One is that the price per item adds up very quickly here. You essentially have to factor in that you can probably get 1.5 meals out of a portion, because otherwise, you're paying close to $20 for a single meal of fast-casual food. Keep in mind that most other locations of this caliber in this area would easily have 2 meals worth of food in one entree at a lower price. The food itself was pretty ok - I'd say it met our expectations of what a standard mediterranean restaurant should be. That said... they definitely disappointed us with the wait time. We went in on a slow Sunday afternoon, and though there was only 1 other family in the restaurant, we ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes for our food. Ultimately... I'd probably recommend you try somewhere else -- The Great Greek Mediterranean is definitely casual, but nowhere near fast.

Inside, it's really welcoming. Clean, comfortable tables and chairs, and it looks like they recently refreshed the place with updated walls, art, and lighting. Nothing fancy, just done right. We started by sharing a Greek salad and it was very fresh, with an excellent dressing. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was out of this world. I honestly do not know how the chef did it, but the chicken had this incredible crispiness and freshness, with a perfect crunch that still stayed juicy. The portion was extremely generous. The pasta was excellent and the sauce was exactly what you want with chicken parm. I could not even come close to finishing the whole plate. I heard a certain renowned Italian restaurant owner loves to come here for the parm! She says no one makes it quite like Ardiana's chef. The owner, Robert, brought out a carrot cake for us to try. He said it was all organic. It was fantastic. Moist, with a great caramel sauce and walnuts. At that point I was waving the white flag because it was just too much good food. Robert also mentioned they are opening a small bar soon, which will make this place even better for a casual dinner. If you are in Novi and you want a great Italian and Mediterranean spot that over-delivers, put Ardiana's on your list.

The shape of the fry was curly, not like the typical curly fries, but thicker on one end, so a bit dry and bland. I wouldn't order this again. Although the aioli was good. The b- was delicious. This was my first time at the uptown (sister) location and I was pleasantly surprised at the interior. It is beautifully decorated and welcoming. The staff are the same hard workers you found downtown. We especially liked our server - he used to work downtown and we really liked his attentive style. He made sure everyone at the table was taken care of. We started with Saganaki - so good! - but my very favorite dish is their Fried Artichokes with Scordalia. I can't get enough of the garlic in this dish! I also had the Chicken Meatballs but they were served on lettuce and that's not a positive thing right now so I was disappointed that they didn't leave that off. In fact, I was too afraid to eat the meatballs, even after we removed the lettuce. I didn't want to chance anything. One thing I will warn patrons is that the floor is incredibly greasy. You can't see it but you slide right through the pedestrian areas so be careful. It's due to the Saganaki - all the Greek restaurants downtown suffer the same problem as that dish is so popular.

One by one, the knowledgeable Greek waitstaff disappeared--along with their deep understanding of the cuisine and the personalities that made the experience special. A symbolic example says it all: the statue of the goddess Athena was removed because the new owners "could not stand her," much like the long-standing Greek employees who were pushed out. While the new owners certainly have the right to make changes, those decisions have alienated the very Greek customers who once supported this place. If you want a true measure of authenticity, look at whether Greek customers keep coming back. Returning Greeks are the best certification of genuine ingredients, proper preparation, and cultural respect. Common sense says you don't drive away your most loyal--and most qualified--customers.

You can tell from the sheer number of reviews that I've written that I am partial to it. So I was anticipating both the meal and more importantly, the company of a good friend and mentor. Le George sits in our tiny downtown, amidst some good dining options (Table 5, Toria, Lucy and the Wolf). Both indoor and outdoor dining choices are available; I would have chosen outdoors but it was brutally hot to even contemplate. The restaurant offers a number of apps, including hummus, falafel, grape leaves, and spinach pie. I had the latter and was glad to try a different recipe. The spinach was boldly flavored with lemon and nutmeg and wrapped in a puffy crust, not the usual phyllo dough. I had wanted the whitefish but it wasn't available that evening. Instead, I went with the chicken tawuk and my friend had the shrimp gallaba. Chicken and beef shawarma, brochettes, and lamb chops are also available. The chicken tawuk consisted of 4 chunks of grilled chicken, seasoned rice, and a few veggies. Compared to other restaurants, the portion sizes are significantly smaller here. My chicken was inconsistently cooked (which is weird). Half the chicken cubes were perfectly tender and moist. The others were drier - though not inedible. My friend appreciated the flavor of her shrimp dish. We both appreciated the energy and positive attitude of the staff.

We went to Northville on a beautiful Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. All of the other…read morerestaurants had waits of 45 minutes to an hour except this one. We should have known there was a reason. First, judging by the menu, they don't seem to know what kind of cuisine it wants to be; there is a lot of middle Eastern food on the menu, but their Sunday special was French, and other dishes seemed to be Italian. My sister and I both asked for iced tea, but they did have any! Seriously, how hard is it to put a tea bag in water? So, we just got water. They apparently only had the dinner menu available (they didn't give us actual menus; we had to scan the QR codes with our phones), so we were expecting full meals. When our food came, that's all it was -- no salad, no vegetables, no bread. My sister ordered chicken shawarma ($16) that was supposed to have come with rice, but the waiter didn't tell us that they had run out so they substituted some anemic-looking fries instead. The chicken was a little pile of chicken. She asked the waiter for vegetables since there was no rice & she didn't want the fries, and he did bring some, but it looked like a frozen mix. There was also some kind of garlic dip, but it was not the delicious garlic dip that most places have, this has a sharp bite to it. She asked for bread (twice), and she got a few triangles of pita bread -- in a baggie! I ordered a chicken and artichoke dish ($18). Gordon Ramsay would have been disgusted. The large, flat chicken breasts had been pounded pretty flat. The chicken was dry (although I don't actually mind dry chicken, so I didn't send it back) and had a kind of bitter flavor, and what I assume was mashed potatoes was served with it. Completely flavorless. And the whole thing was swimming in what I think was butter, but it was also flavorless. The server was not particularly attentive and didn't refill our water glasses at all. All in all, the best thing about our meal was that we we enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors and someone else took care of the dishes.
