I might give it one more try without the relleno and potatoes. The service was decent.

I had ordered the Pizza Hut meal pack, so it comes with 4 chicken wings. Well it only had 3 wings, the 4th looking one was a crusty fried piece. I bit into one and noticed the texture was off, I noticed it is not fully cooked so I tore the remaining wing in half and they were all under cooked. I did take pictures of the inside of the wings, with one showing a tinge of blood inside. I also ordered a side salad with dressing, never received the dressing. Needless to say I was furious at the time and I waited for the Pizza Hut survey on this order to arrive in my email. I dinged them on this order because obviously there should be a manager working to make sure everyone is doing their job correctly. I usually never have issues with this Pizza Hut but this was infuriating and the thought of being served raw chicken bothers me. I can't really say I feel comfortable ordering anything else from this location any longer. The fact that no one has bothered to reach out to me about this matter solidifies how I feel this owner and managers do not care if they play with customer's health or provide good service. Extremely dissatisfied.

The better question is, "who has the best brisket, or ribs, or nanner puddin, or whatever." Some places are great and others suck, but no one is the best at all of it. They may be above average or even exceptional, but they will still be better at one meat than another. We had brisket, turkey, beef rib, pulled pork, mild sausage and jalepeno, along with some brisket deviled eggs. Dude! If it were Cajun food, you'd have to slap yo mama. Fortunately it's BBQ so we loosen our belt strap and when we can't eat another bite, we grab the biggest spoon we can find and eat some nanner puddin. It was solid. For sides we had potato salad, cole slaw, mac n cheese and collard greens. Personally, my favorite was the mac n cheese as it was creamy and tasted great, but my friends from Oregon were in TX for the first time and while she had never had collard greens, she couldn't get enough of them and literally went back for thirds. As mentioned, our friends were in from Oregon and had never been to TX not ever had TX BBQ. Shack you did us proud!

As I've been fortunate enough to try several restaurants for the first time in the last few months, I wanted to take time to get them all their due. Powell's Country BBQ was a unique experience that you can't really get anywhere else. First, the food was, unfortunately, not my favorite barbecue. It was mesquite-smoked, which is a huge plus to me, but in retrospect, I would have probably ordered the sauce on the side. I do appreciate that the owner does everything himself including make the sauce. The prices were extremely reasonable. What made this place special was the experience. You truly feel like you're eating barbecue prepared by one of your neighbors, and truthfully, that's what you're doing. The modest building was filled with mementos from the owner's fascinating life. There were no other customers, so once he served the food, the owner sat and chatted with us. I rather enjoyed getting to know him, and I loved hearing about all of his experiences. Take cash, as he does not accept cards, but I appreciate that Mr. Powell allowed me to run down the street to an ATM and return with cash. Apparently this is common, and Mr. Powell said he had only had one customer fail to return. If you take advantage of this wonderful gentleman, I have no place in my heart for you. Overall, the experience was positive. I strongly recommend everyone experience it at least once, especially if you want something quaint, unique, and refreshing

I called ahead and ordered before they closed at 2 pm and picked them up right at 1:57 pm (praise the lord). I mowed down both of them. For two tacos, they are most filling. I would've been full off of one. I am still wowed by what they can whip up. It's to-go only as Jimenez runs a small little shop on 34th Street, but they pack it with a ton of love and might.
