Three words....Brisket, huge and YUM. Finally I stopped by Pitt Bros. The menu outside and the aroma wafting down the street caught the attention. This place exudes 'hipsterness' and is overall just a cool spot. When seated we happened to see a delicious looking slab of meat (Brisket) at the table beside us. Wowee, exactly what we were looking for. Got the sweetcorn and bone marrow mash on the side. The meat was tender and busting with BBQ flavour. It was like Heaven in my mouth. Unfortunately I only made it three quarters of the way through my meal as the portion size was very generous. Although I did see a gentleman ask for a 'doggie bag', so I presume you could bring any leftovers home. I'm afraid I've only eaten here once so my review reflects my experience with just the brisket. I'm not sure what the other meals are like. I think my only critique would be that the price is a little high. Maybe if they reduced the portion size they could reduce the price? So my bezzie and I decided we needed some 'man food' on a miserable January Thursday night so we fetched up here. It's a busy place and they don't take reservations so you may need a Plan B in case they're chocca. Which they weren't for us although they were quite busy and people arriving after us were turned away or had to wait quite a while. it's pot luck, really. Anyway, menu is literally a single A5 page with a very limited selection of meat and meat and some more meat. Absolutely perfect. Order at the bar and very pleasant server delivers food to the table. We both had ribs with fries and onion rings. Beer is an eclectic selection but we opted for a Brooklyn lager which, whilst good, was just over a fiver for a bottle. Not cheap. However, the ribs were excellent, the fries sublime and the onion rings on the bacchanalian side of decadent. Dessert was a self-pulled ice cream cone, which we eschewed, but looked the business. We waddled out into the street in search of pints, replete. First time here but I will be back. Very good. read more

SO much meat. It's one of the many BBQ places in Dublin at the moment. I've been a few times and I think it's gotten to the stage that it'll only be a yearly occurrence. It's just grand. It pains me to give such a "meh" review. Especially because I am from Texas and love me some meat. So,let us break it down: - St. Louis Ribs were delicious. But I would not call it Barbecue. I would call them tasty beef popsicles with sweet sauce. - Chicken was tender. And cooked well. I'd eat that again. - Brisket ... the sauce on the brisket just ruined it. It tasted like dirt rubbed in tomatoes. It made me sad because the quality of the meat was so wonderful, and smoked well. - Mac and cheese was pretty good. Nirvana? No. But again, I would eat that again. - The sauces. This was the part that tipped it from a pretty good meal to a disappointing one. I mean, you CANNOT have a barbecue joint without a good sauce. Unless you are doing it Texas-style with dry rubs, then there has to ACTUALLY BE A SAUCE THAT QUALIFIES AS BBQ. Not one that you put lots of smokey paprika in and call BBQ sauce. Vinegar-based, or perhaps brown sugar and apple cider? Pick one. Any one and go with it. A trio of Paprika tomato, Sriracha wannabe, and mayo does not BBQ make. (Note that I am assuming that smokey, dirty flavor was paprika.) So, all in all, there were some tasty moments and some not-so-tasty moments, but none of it would I ever deem to be "Barbecue." read more

This quirky BBQ eatery was highly recommended by my wonderful daughter as a lunch venue suitable for my two visiting teenage nephews and it certainly lived up to its reputation. The minute we walked in the door we were greeted by lovely friendly and happy staff who advised us that we had five minutes to avail of the lunch offer and got us seated quickly. However, this meant that they did not rush us at all and gave us ample time - in fact, over the lunch time limit - to make up our minds before we ordered. Be warned though, the lunch is so generous that you certainly will be skipping evening dinner! What excellent value for excellent food - delicious burgers, pulled pork, and the pitt masters combo were enjoyed by the three of us, served with sides of our choice and in our case coleslaw and chips, plus free drinks of equally delicious homemade lemonade, and to top it all off a whopping 'serve-yourself' icecream cone! Wonderful value at €10 each plus a little extra for the pitt masters combo. The decor, especially, the lighting are well worth seeing with very clever use of everyday implements a of recycled items that would otherwise be discarded. Check it out, very easy to find at the bottom end of George's Street and just a stroll from Trinity College - I would highly recommend the lunch that we savoured. read more

Loving this place - best to go with meats over buns, in my opinion worth the extra 3.95 for extra meat and extra side. If I could make a suggestion to owners I'd add a combo option for 2 half portion of the meats at same price (i'd like more than 1 option of meat) Although there's a 3 combo option for 20 its too much for most. Being from the heart of pulled Pork BBQ country in North Carolina USA, I wasn't impressed with the sauces or juiciness of either the pulled pork or the beef brisket (which I also love when I visit my friends in Texas). It wasn't bad by any means. It just wasn't that good. read more

This is more like American bbq style, I like the original ribs the most, but the St.Louis Rib has too much fat on it, so would not really recommend for people who don't like fat meat, it's a nice place to get some bbq.but I would not go back again, because it's not worth to visit. read more

Had a great food experience with the Brisket. I ordered it with mash potatoes and coleslaw. The slaw was terrible and comes with no dressing whatsoever but the mashed potatoes was impeccable with lots of gravy. The ice cream at the end is free which is a nice gesture after spending €14 on your plate plus drinks. Something that struck me was the fact that there's no refill for your drinks. Each drink costs around €2 so adding a refill must be considered. But overall, it was a good experience. read more

They don't take reservations on weekends, I believe, so if you're a big group it won't be easy to get seats. I went with a group of 6 once a month ago and was told we'd have to wait 45 minutes for a table, so we left and tried again last weekend. We waited around 20 minutes this time. We weren't feeling particularly ravenous, so an order of the meat combo for €19.95 was able to feed myself and two of my girlfriends rather generously. We got the original ribs, brisket, and pulled pork with two sides of fries and mac & cheese. I liked the pulled pork best but my friends both favoured the brisket. The free ice cream was a pleasant surprise. They have a soft-serve ice cream machine that you can operate yourself, and if you go for seconds in free dessert, no one will stop you. read more

Been here a few times and have tried most things on the menu, never disappointed when I go here! The pulled pork is absolutely delicious and moist, the brisket is tender and we'll flavoured and the burger is good. The pulled pork is probably the best thing on the menu. While the burger was good it tasted fried not barbecued and there was no bacon! The sides here are pretty awesome!! The mac and cheese is delicious and the chips are really good. The home made lemonade was fine, wouldn't recommend getting it though. The restaurant itself is very nice, great setting food hall style layout makes great use of a small seating space. The staff are very friendly and quick, would recommend getting there before 18.30 as it gets very busy. Was looking forward to going to this restaurant ever since seeing it last week. I went last night and must say I am extremely unimpressed. Having paid €19 for my chicken and sides it arrived at my table undercooked and freezing.... I gave it back to one of the staff and asked if it could be re-heated. She handed it to the chef who began dismantling my chicken and sticking his fingers in it to check the temperature. In the end they brought me a new piece of chicken. This piece was hot on first bite but again was freezing come my second bite and also under cooked. My girlfriends ribs that she ordered was a very small portion. So much for their "biggest portion of ribs in Dublin" they were also over covered in tasteless BBQ sauce, and their was as much meat on them as a new born ant! Myself and my husband decided to go here for the first time today. Looked good, minimal menu and staff were friendly. Wasn't too busy so we picked a good time as we had a choice of seats. We both went for the Meat and 2 side option. I had the pulled pork, potato salad and corn on the cob. The pulled pork was good and tasty but i found it a little dry. Potato salad was yum and the corn on the cob was one of the best I've eaten so i was happy out! My husband had the brisket, which i had a taste of and loved! Will be having it next time myself. For his sides he had the mac&cheese and onion rings. He loved the onion rings but was not impressed at all with the mac&cheese. He wouldn't have it again. We didn't know about the free ice cream but were too full afterwards anyway- the portions here are generous! Price wise it's on par with the likes of nandos or eddie rockets. But for taste, value for money and atmosphere, I would choose here. Will definitely be back again. read more

Came in here on a rainy Thursday night and the place was packed. Great vibe. There was a space for two on the long communal bench but we decided to wait for a table for two and even though they were busy we only waited about 10 minutes. You order and pay for your food at the bar and then take a number and the staff bring out your food. We had a delicious meal of pulled pork in a bun with chips and a coke and 1/2 a low and slow BBQ roast chicken with bone marrow mash and onion rings and it came to a very reasonable €25. The chicken was really juicy and cooked to perfection. The onion rings crispy but not greasy at all and the bone marrow mash so creamy and flavourful. My friend demolished their pulled pork and fries that I didn't even have a chance to try them, but he said they were really good. You get a free soft serve ice-cream with your meal so we both had a huge one of those and it is really good ice-cream, very creamy. I am planning on going back here soon to try the buttermilk chicken as I have been told it is delicious. read more

Went here with 2 grown ups and 4 kids on Saturday , couldn't have been friendlier and nicer. Seated straight away and you go to the counter to order which I always prefer. The food and service was great, came out quickly on nice enamel plates and when the two 11 years olds declared that BBQ was now officially their favourite food, even more than pizza, it was the perfect end. read more

came in here today after reading so many positive reviews and the price based on the menu is good 20 for 3 meats and two sides so expectations were high...... and after eating there it is kinda disappointing....cool decor great beer selection, service naaah could be better came in with the missus lots of free spaces but its all the long tables as most of the ones for two people were taken , waitress told us to wait as she wont allow us to sit down on the long table just in case a group might come in so we had to wait for a couple of minutes till somebody was finished before we could sit down she says we pointed out a table thats empty a high chaired one near the bar which we asked her if we could take but she told us it was taken ( but for the few minutes that we were there waiting it was still empty and by the time we sat down a girl came in and she got it )so after a few minutes the missus asks here how about this table behind us there was a group of people in there 5 of em but they were seating on one side and there was 3 empty spaces on the opposite side which we dont mind seating /sharing the table with em then she agreed to let us sit down ,........ now to the food, portions were huge which is a plus but taste wise... most of the food i've got was bland, ordered the chicken, brisket and ribs with sides of mac and cheese and fries... food was luke warm not piping hot when it arrived and it came out superfast which was a plus but it all makes you wonder bout food prep in this case on how they could produce that massive amount of food in a span of few minutes could it be just a case of reheating , ding ding and off they go .... the chicken was a small leg/thigh and it was just bland, bland bland ,,, ribs ...great portion , but tastes like somebody just boiled it and just slathered thier ''barbeque'' sauce over it with out hitting the grill no char marks no smoky flavour and again bland if you take out the sauce from the equation it is just a bland meat i(ll be talking bout thier sauce later) ...i dont think they marinade/ spice rub them them beforehand ... The brisket was the saving grace , tender, good flavor even without the'' sauce'' compared to the other ones i have on my plate and good portion again, sides mac and cheese ...bland tastes like what i give my 5 year old daughter mac and cheese should be cheesy this one was more like baby food taste wise , chips are a joke they arent even properly fried cmon guys chips should be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside but yours is just half cooked by the looks and taste of it,....... a good bbq place should live and die with thier trademark sauce but this one it aint even bbq for crying oout loud , aussie outback bbq and Bison bar could teach this guys about sauces in my opinion All in all its ok but there are better ones out there ...will i be coming back again? not really as there is a wealth of restaurants in that area. read more

My favourite BBQ place in Dublin (and there are many). The portions are generous, the meat is tender and the free ice cream tops it off. The lemonade is pretty good too. My only gripe is that the service can be very slow. Last few times we were left sitting over 20mins before our meal arrived. However, I can get over that for an otherwise good meal. read more

This was one of the places on my list of restaurants in Dublin to hit up so on Saturday night when I found myself strolling past the place after the game I decided it was fate and we might as well give it a go ! And fate was definitely smiling on us that night as we only ended up having to wait around 15 minutes. I went with the pulled pork and my friend got the ribs. Pulled pork was lovely as was my side of beans and corn on the cob , I tried some of my friends ribs, the sauce was not BBQy (maybe not a word) enough for me but still good and her side of fries were pretty tasty too. The three sauces we found on our table were all excellent: South Carolina, hot and BBQ sauce. The staff were friendly and I love the fact that you can pull your own 99 ice cream at the end which I did despite the fact it was freezing outside. FOR STUDENTS THERE IS 15% OFF something we unfortunately didn't realise until we had a look at the sign outside as we were leaving besides that tip just make sure you are hungry before you go , now I cant wait to try Bison BBQ to see how it compares. read more
