Unfortunately, I got my first citation ever in my whole life at age 40. With a lot of fear and confusion, I went here to ask for some clarification and help. There's two parking lots. I walked in and security advise me what to do. Empty everything in a bucket and walk through the metal detector. The police officer was nice and told me where to go. The lady at the first window helped me. I forgot her name but she was amazing. Answered all my questions and provided the clarification I needed. The only thing sucks is I have to wait maybe a month or two until I receive the ticket to even do anything about it. Other than that, hopefully I'll never have to come here again, lol. Jury duty for my MIL. Pittsburg only took 25-30 min from San Ramon . A Monday late morning . Right off the freeway with brand new STARBUCKS drive thru and a big hotel across the street. The courthouse itself I was real impressed. It is modern and new. The parking was easy we got a spot with no prob. Distance between the first parking lot I parked in and the main entrance to jury duty was short distance . Went thru the metal detector with no issues. There are payment windows to the rink for other payments and court appointments tickets etc. They ask you for the notice reminder blue color they came in the mail with your name and address. Don't worry if you don't have it show them your ID and they will look you up. *Importantly the check in person really emphasizes if you are a Government employee or something of that matter. Probably conflict of interest. If you have a language barrier and don't speak English you will be dismissed on the spot. They do ask if you're a citizen or not . The middle aged African American man was real cool in letting us get dismissed and off we went home. If you don't show up it's contempt of the court and it's very serious. No way we wanted to stay until 5 pm. The judge is upstairs makes you wait until selection; doing paperwork. I personally had a very good lasting impression this court house in Pittsburg . Way better than Oakland but don't know how Martinez is I do know that one is older too. Good luck read more

Got the notice for jury duty and was assigned to the Pittsburgh Superior Court. Just dreading the commute, I found that I could take Bart, transfer and be within easy walking distance to the Court. Once I found a way there without needing to drive, the entire experience improved. I was there for the entire day and did not get picked for Jury Duty but can't really complain. Commissioner Lifter took the deputy's side over a traffic ticket with no evidence , the ticket was for allegedly merging late into a lane but got nothing on video. It was his words against mine. I was also threatened to be arrested for not wanting to sign the ticket with 2 violations because I couldn't find my proof of insurance fast enough for deputy Edward Brady which I eventually did. 1 violation for allegedly merging late and 2 for no proof of insurance. I called my lawyer during the traffic stop and he started treating me better but before that he was telling me " hurry up and sign the ticket, I got more people to pull over." read more

It's my duty to please that de-puty! Yep that joke was about as funny as jury duty, which is likely what will bring you to this courthouse. Fear not - though the courthouse itself isn't in the loveliest part of Pittsburg (wherever that may be), the Richard Arnason Justice Center as it is formally known is a rather pleasant spot to be stuck for however many days, should you get that summons in the mail. Right off the Railroad Ave. exit on 4, parking is not as limited as the summons and Contra Costa website made it sound. I do recommend arriving way ahead of your call time though, to ensure a secure parking spot. Late jurors were also lined out the door to get through security before check-in time, so if you want your choice of chairs in the jury assembly room, don't be tardy. Their jury assembly room is quite nice - lots of chairs, a few desks and a couple tables. There are outlets here and there but they are first come first served. There are bathrooms within the room, and snack and coffee vending. A soda vending machine is located upstairs near the courtrooms along with additional bathrooms. At lunchtime there are a few places in a very reasonable walking distance - I crossed 4 to hit the food court at Mi Pueblo maybe 5 minutes from the courthouse, and also spotted a Jack in the Box and Panda Express nearby, if like me you don't want to lose your parking spot. When the jury summons calls you to Pittsburg, rest assured - you'll be spending a long boring day in a rather spiffy courthouse. read more

Coming from Southern California this court house was a gem. It seems so empty I couldn't believe this was a court house. Clean and the worker seems friends even though I was given the wrong information from the clerk at the window, everything happens for a reason. Clerks at the window sometime don't know what they are talking about just FYI , so triple check if you have too. read more

Courthouse was clean. No problems parking. Couple of uniformed cops at the entrance. They may appear intimidating but generally helpful. I was here for a traffic ticket. I took a number to talk to the court clerk at the window. There was a bit of a wait at 2pm but the court clerk was nice. I plead not guilty and I chose a court date around a holiday and at summertime --- day after Labor Day at 8:30am. On my court date, Judge Richards was nice/calm. Everyone present was sworn in at about 8:50am. Out of about 10 defendants, only one guy's case was dismissed due to citing officer no-show. The judge was trying to be funny about it (or maybe sarcastic, dunno). The next 2 that were called were charged for excessive speed. The citing officer was prepared with his testimony on both cases. He described exactly where he was, how the speeding car caught his attention, that the laser/radar was calibrated/checked and he had training as required, what the defendant said when he was stopped. First defendant argued he was running late to take his son somewhere; "It didn't seem like I was going that fast". (Found guilty) The other said, "I was taking my friend to the hospital/emergency and I didn't know my license was expired until the officer told me." (Found guilty, with license suspended for 7 days unless he takes a class. Judge said call the ambulance on an emergency). I thought both defendants were unprepared and understandably nervous. Didn't really question any of the officer's statements except for "maybe this or maybe that" and without supporting evidence. My name got called next. I believe they call by citing officer then by defendant last name in alphabetical order. I approached with my notes and some photos. I was dressed professionally. The judge said "good morning" and was staring right at me. Maybe because he didn't hear me greet him back. It was the same officer as the previous 2. Officer said this incident happened in April 2012. I have no recollection of this case. He held up a copy of my ticket and said, I did not take any notes on this case. The judge joked and said "and you can't just make something up?". I was smiling at this point. Judge said with no testimony on my case I am found NOT guilty. Thank you, your honor! read more

Only because I have to give a star to write a review. It must have been a long time since I have been to the Pittsburg courts. Unaware we are made to take off our shoes I was appalled and asked about the procedure. While maintaining her position as a law enforcement officer a woman stated they did not make the rules. I appreciated that answer however Officer Reed decided to tell me "you don't like it bye-bye". It was just rude.. And for no reason. I simply asked a question. Geez. What happened to the good ol days when my bald headed guy was back there to let us know the whats what. Mr. Reed, you get a thumbs down for a very poor attitude. Treat others how you would like to be treated. Thats why I will still remain humble letting nothing and no one pull me out of my character. I hope you understand what Im saying as constructive criticism and nothing more. You could have easily stated the same thing your co-worker did. The worst part about all of this were the comments made after you thought I was out of earshot. I listened as you tried to make me (in your mind) sound as if I was going to be insubordinate & you thought you had every right to treat me poorly. You didnt, & being that I have been all through the system, I know the risks I am taking even writing this. However I think you can take a look & see that your on the FRONT end of a secured building. Of course you will deal with irrational people, we as the public understand that. But there is NO NEED to be rude or disrespectful to someone asking a simple question, it is a part of your job to be knowledgeable about the rules you are enforcing. If a member of the public asks questions regarding these rules why on earth would you not want to explain? I dont want a bunch of cop or law enforcement bashing going on either. Judge Charles treat wasted the state's time and money on my court date on feb 25. My wife and I were assaulted at our house by my wife's ex husband and 2 other asian guys. Antioch PD was too lazy to do anything and so was judge treat. I explained what had happened then at the end he proceeds to tell me "i should have stopped this hearing half way thru and pushed it to family court".... Then why didn't he?! What a waste of time! I was seeking a restraining order because I didn't feel safe in my own home and didn't receive anything. I had to go to the emergency room due to the assault and lost 20 lbs from the assault date Feb 5th and court date Feb 25th due to all the stress. What more proof is needed?? I've lost my sense of security and have since been forced to move out of Antioch due to the lack of justice that has taken place. Pittsburg is no better apparently with judges like Treat around. There was a hearing before mine where a man went to another man's house and harassed his wife and child. Treat said "yea that's ok". What?! Apparently, people can go to others homes and do whatever they like and it's all good! I'm disgusted with the lack of justice. Judge Charles Treat was useless and I'm sure nothing has changed. read more

I had Judge Lowell Richard , Unfortunately. Like many others who goes to court challenging the traffic ticket. This judge will always side with the police officer. The Brentwood Police Officer Greene , TAILGATED me at 3 am in the morning. Not only that the police officer NEGLECTED TO TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH. He did not bring the video as evidence. Just gave a GENERIC TESTIMONY that I sped. As I gave detailed testimony what the Officer Greene did. The judge still ruled against me. And suspend my license for 2 weeks. First of all I did not speed when he saw me, HE WAS TAILGATING me the whole time, his testimony was that he was 3 cars away. NOT True. He was 3 feet away from me, I had to sped up because he was to close. And he was more like 2 cars to 1 and half car away from me. STALKING the whole time. At 3 am, anybody would freak out. As soon as I step on the gas, he pulled his siren on me. people calls it BAIT or ENTRAPMENT. read more

My problem is regarding a small claims issue and collecting the payment from Pittsburg Superior Court. I was award a judgment in the amount of $5000 dollars and to my surprise the judgment debtor paid the full judgment with in the week after the trial. I'm finding out that the direct payment made to the Pittsburg Court was processed in the Martinez Superior Court. Now the interesting part is no matter how many weeks before when the judgment debor made her payment to the Pittsburg Court I have to wait 6-8 weeks after I signed a document requesting the funds awared to me though judgment be paid. Clearly an unnecessary step created by the court to delay making a judgment payment to the creditor. It has now been 8 weeks and no check just another excuse and more run around saying I should call back in a week even though I was told by Suzie Dailey who works for the Pittsburg Superior Court that the checked had already been processed on December 7, 2015 There clearly is no accountability or follow up with in the management or supervisor positions from the Pittsburg Superior Court House or from the financial department in the Martinez Superior Court House. More than disappointed with the courts services. I'm actually thinking about filing a civil suit against the courts finacail department because no one can tell me where my money has gone or when or if I'll ever get it. read more
