After 30 minutes I finally left and asked for a refund for my remaining sessions. Fortunately he did honor that and refunded me and I am grateful for that. However I was never offered any kind of apology or anything despite the inconvenience to me. I felt it was very unprofessional and poorly handled. It's unfortunate bc I wanted to like it but wouldn't recommend it.

This is not a one-time mistake, it's repeated unauthorized billing. I have full screenshots of the cancellation message and the ongoing charge attempts. Be very careful giving this place your payment information. Monitor your account closely and keep documentation of everything. I've already blocked them through my bank and am in the process of reporting this.

Turns out that's a problem If you buy any sessions they come with a very very short period before they expire. But if the coach you're supposed to be using isn't available when your kid is- well tough luck. Every week we tried to see if our schedule aligned with Chuck's. For the weeks that we could do the sessions - It didn't - and by the time our schedule and his finally aligned the session block we booked expired. Add in the fact that the company website is a pain to use - and you can see why I'm disappointed.

What really drew me in was the floor area - the class alternates between the bags and strength training so I felt like I was getting a well designed, comprehensive workout. The studio is brand new and super clean, I feel fortunate to be a founding member! In addition to Courtney and Mitch, Brian and Manny are awesome! Manny has been teaching members only clinics (free!) the past two Sundays and I've really enjoyed being challenged and learning from a professional in a small group setting! I also met Julia and Rumble's resident pup, Theo today. Everyone has been so kind, helpful and are truly starting to make it feel like a community. Rumble is located on the Peninsula on Newport Blvd near the pier. There is both street parking (which you have to pay for) and garage parking (which Rumble validates). They sell everything you need - gloves, wraps, workout attire and more. They offer complimentary towels, filtered water and lockers. You can also rent gloves for $3 a session. Booking classes is simple on the app, and you have the opportunity to choose your bag and bench. The studio is still new so classes aren't too full yet, but I feel like it's going to be picking up soon. They still have a ton of free intros going on and a bunch of specials for newcomers. Check it out! You won't regret it :)

Bumped into Coach Bryce at a USKO sparring competition a while back where my boy was competing…read more Bryce invited my son and I to visit for some Saturday training and sparring. We took him up on the offer. The experience was great! My boy worked through a fighter's circuit: skipping rope, guided shadowboxing, heavy bag work, pads with Bryce, and partner drills followed by sparring. All the coaches and members are super welcoming. Very chill, family vibe, conducive to learning. No ego. Good times. Legit, highly technical, bad a$$ Muay Thai. My son also has history with one of the other Rising Sons coaches, Coach Yannick (a Peruvian Muay Thai champion), from a previous gym where he trained for a little bit (pre-Covid), so it was rad to re-connect. They have an active squad of killers who are wrecking shop on the local & National scenes. They're also investing in the future by growing a crop of lil' savages who my boy was able to get solid sparring rounds with. Both Bryce and Yannick are really patient, encouraging and positive with the kids. You can tell they understand how to bring them up slowly & build the toughness organically. We've been back a few times on Saturdays, and if we lived closer, would totally have my kid join forces with the Rising Sons crew. Unfortunately we're all the way out in the 626 and it would be too tough to make that trek during the week. That said, if you're anywhere near the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa/Irvine area and you or your kids need/want to get in shape, train to fight, and meet cool people with folks who really know their stuff, Rising Sons Thai Boxing is the place to be. The hours and the selection of martial arts classes are excellent. Every last coach knows their stuff, and they teach both kids and adults classes with professionalism and care. I am also always grateful that the black belts, pro fighters, and other experienced trainees are so helpful during class. Not only do you have knowledgable coaches, but your peers support you here too. I have seen multiple martial arts gyms over the years, especially in Orange County, and while all have nice things to say about them, Rounders just hits every single mark. It's a nice and spacious facility with a great setup, but the people are what make it stand out. My only complaint is that I wish I had started here sooner.

I came to Pixel Punch, which is run by Juan, with absolutely zero experience in boxing and any another sports. I'm also a small chick at only 5' and 100lbs. I started taking some of his classes and I'll tell you right now his workouts are serious, and you will probably feel a little overwhelmed and beat up the first few times. But like anything else if you just keep pushing yourself a little bit each time and stick with it you will get better in no time. Juan always motivates you to put in 100% effort, and he always switches up the classes so you don't ever get bored doing the same thing. From never working out at the gym to now training and beginning to spar, that's how much Juan has inspired and motivated me to get out of my comfort zone and take care of my health. Juan is simply the best. He is passionate about boxing and it shows in his one on one training sessions as well as his classes. I have a very tricky work schedule and he is always willing to see when im available and when he can squeeze me in for a training session. Juan is great trainer for whatever your trying to achieve. He can help you with losing weight, learning the fundamentals of boxing, more advanced sparring techniques, and he will even let you punch him around when you are having a bad day. I typically believe that hell is other people and so I have never felt the need to leave a comment about the awesomeness of one. However, in this case I make an exception because Juan is not only a great boxing instructor, but also a surprisingly relatable, motivating, and entertaining human being. I had no training before I met him, but now I feel like I would survive in a dark alleyway, and even if such a scenario never arises, I still have a blast at our sessions. i was looking to up my cardio game and try one on one boxing. what was i thinking? LOL. working out with juan is challenging, fun and is a physical and mental workout. he is a great teacher, really patient and wants us to have great form (and a great time). he also wants us to love boxing and respect the sport. he has a semi-good sense of humor (incase he is reading this don't want to give him a big head) and i enjoy our workouts. i love coming early and watching him with the kiddos. if you are a parent looking for a great exercise and self defense class for your kids, he is your guy. the kids love him. read more

Juan is an awesome boxing coach and a super fun guy to train with. Lets face it, boxing can be a tough sport to learn. On top of that, boxing gyms can be an intimidating atmosphere for newbies. Juan is extremely good at teaching the fundamentals of boxing, helping explain everything so that it makes sense, and planning training sessions so that your skills improve week by week. Before I came to Pixel Punch Boxing, I had been to couple of the boxing place around the area, but this place is the BEST. I had recommended many of my friends to come here. 1). Juan is a very enthusiastic trainer with great skills and personality. 2). reasonable price for one-on-one training. 3). intense workout but Juan keeps me motivated all the time 4). Boxing is considered to be the best calorie-killer, much more interesting than boring cardio running. Juan is awesome. Boxing is highly technical, but he does a great job of breaking everything down and communicating the training. He is very savvy at pushing students through intense workouts, but doing so in a way that you learn the fundamentals at the same time. As an instructor, he's phenomenal. As a person, he's hilarious. As a coach, he's reliable, and always goes out of his way to be available. Juan is an amazing instructor! He is very good with the children and really knows how to get the kids motivated and working hard. I have been working with Juan for years- in his classes as well as personal training sessions and 2 on ones. He is so attentive- he cares what I want to work on and also challenges me in new ways all the time. He switches the drills up a lot so I never get bored... and I always break sweat. I am so happy I decided to try something out of my norm. Juan caters each session around your goals and pushes your ability. It is truly an amazing workout while maintaining a fun vibe. Juan is one of the best! I used to go to a kickboxing studio and realized I wanted to learn more mitt work combos instead of what the studio was teaching me. A friend referred me to him and Juan definitely does not disappoint! He kicks my butt with incorporating cardio and abs into it as well so I get a full workout. After trying to do 3 5 min rounds on the heavy bag he took the time to train me a few rounds and teach me. He even let me use his own personal gloves and laced them up for me. They also do a partnership with a local powerlifting gym which is great because I like going to the gym too. I am super stoked about moving a few doors down to a super legit gym. Oh and the price for a membership was lower than any other gym that I've trained at. Which is a huge plus for me because I like money.

I have always been more into striking and one of my heroes is Marco Ruas. I have always wanted to learn Ruas Vale Tudo from the days of his instructional videos and the early UFC video game days. I had no idea where I was moving when I took my Job in HB, and assumed I would live in Santa Ana. I immediately found out about Tomacelli Academy and continued to "bother" Master Tomacelli on IG. I told him about needing personal training and he was the nicest person to me. He answered all my questions and made me feel at home, unfortunately, I moved to HB and haven't found really anytime to go check out the gym. But in general, it seems like a family and you get top notch training. I'm hoping to get there soon and just see rye greatness for myself. But in my experience, this is a great gym!

The classes are small so everyone is pretty tight nit, although there's not a lot of time for talking once the class has started. Class times work perfectly with my work schedule since they offer morning and evening classes. Parking is a bit of a hassle, but if I'm going to work out, I don't mind the extra 10 yards I have to walk to get in. Weather you're just starting out (like me) or you've been boxing for years, Chuy, Rey, and the rest of the crew are there to whip you into shape.
