Pixie Nail Bar has honestly become my go to spot in Hampton Va whenever I want to get my nails done. The nail techs are really talented and confident in their work, which makes sense because they always seem busy. One thing I've noticed though is that when it gets busy, they can work a little too fast which leads to over filing or being a bit rough on thinner nails and cuticles. I've found that speaking up and asking them to go gently usually helps, and going during less busy times makes the experience even better. My partner and I especially love going there for pedicures because it feels super relaxing, and they offer drinks while you're getting serviced which is a nice touch. Overall, everyone is accommodating and good at what they do despite occasional small misunderstandings. I personally enjoy the pedicure experience the most there, but for manicures I just make sure to over communicate what works best for my nails. In terms of design I have always gotten what I had in mind, which is why I go back. read more

I had a very pleasant experience here! I was able to come in with no appointment and be serviced right away. I got a pedicure, my nails done, and eyebrows waxed in about 2 hours! Ask for a man named Hayden (he told me his real name is Suy). He was able to do the exact design I wanted based on the picture I showed him! I've been a regular at this nail salon, but unfortunately today changed that. Two weeks ago, I brought my daughter with me. My nails still have polish on them, but hers have completely come off. When I came in to address it, I spoke with the gentleman at the first table on the left as you walk in. He told me they would not repaint her nails because it had been over 10 days, and instead offered 20% off. What made the situation worse was that I felt like I wasn't being believed. I actually had to pull up my banking statement to prove that we were there and paid for the service. Meanwhile, they have a rewards system tied to your phone number--so I'm not sure why that couldn't have been used to verify the visit. That response was disappointing. When there's such a clear difference in how the same service held up, I expected better customer service and accountability. American manicure style(I think that's what it's called) a in between of a French tip and ombré. They said they can try but might not be perfect and I said we can see. Went back here with a group of friends who wanted to get their nails done for the first time. I recommended this place due to my pleasant first time experience with pedicure. My friend called in for an appointment days in advance but ultimately it meant nothing. I don't know why they bother doing appointments when you basically have to wait like a walk-in customer anyway. We sat there for 30 min past our appointment waiting for a nail tech to free up, and there wasn't lot of place to sit so a good portion of those 30 min we just stood around, taking up space. Every single one of us went for the same service and yet we came out of it missing one or two things. One friend didn't get lotion on his hands, one other friend got both lotion and cuticle oil, but then was asked to wash their hands and arms after it was applied (???). I didn't get cuticle oil on my nails, and the person that did my nails was very persistent in convincing me to get gel no matter what I said, and thankfully he gave up, though he was a bit cold. We didn't know those services were included in our manicures until well after the fact. Since neither of us are frequent customers to nail spas, we evidently got bamboozled. ‍ Really disappointed and bummed that this is the experience my friends get to have for the first time. :( read more

I absolutely love my nails. I love that I was able to walk in and get my nails done. They did a great job. I love the designs they did on my nails I was able to get in and out. It does get packed so you have to be careful when you're going, but it's a guarantee you get in there get your nails done and they look nice so I appreciate it and it's not that expensive and yeah, try it out. read more

I used to live this place but the last couple times I have been here I get rushed. I work on my feet so a rushed pedicure is not what I'm expecting when paying for quality services. pedicure was fine. then when it came to having my acrylic removed. i can tell they were rushing to take their break. girl wasn't paying attention when using the grinding tool. she kept looking around. i had to be cautious of when she was switching back and forth with moving my hand back in the bowl i was afraid she was gonna get my skin. it looked like she was in a hurry. she was trying to peel off the acrylic quickly, then she ripped half my nail off and it bled. i felt like she had some sort of hatred towards me for no reason. she didn't even apologize, just tried to find an excuse why or how it happened. i don't speak viet, but what it seemed like she was saying is that she wanted to blame the thickness of the acrylic tip. then she just kept looking at it and she asked me if it hurt. at least she had the decency to put a band aid over it later on. sucks. i don't think i'd return again. update: i was wondering why my nail on the other hand was having some nerve pain here and there, i just noticed the nail was slightly cracked down the middle. The work they do holds up well and is competitively price- and they take walk ins. Nobody is mind reader, so everytime ive communicated a preference they have accommodated very well without much hassle. To further explain my confidence in this shop, I've recommended them to my bridal party. I'd say they're definitely worth the visit. read more

I saw them online and their pictures on IG are really good, looks like they are good on designs so I decided to give it a try. I went to get my nails done for my birthday trip. I didn't wait a long time to be serviced but that is where my nightmare started. The guy that did my nails was new or not very well trained he failed my nail so much on the side making my actual nail go like close to the skin. While filing with the drill cut me multiple times on the cuticle area it has been a week and the nails are already lifting. After gluing the tip he did not file to blend immediately applied acrylic and then realized and filed the hand that had no acrylic. He only did one acrylic coat. I asked for a very simple design it was some vertical lines different colors he didn't pick the same colors as I showed him in the picture and he told me oh you have to wait i don't do design so I had to wait for another guy. Barely put you cuticle oil too. And charged $15 for just some lines that anyone could do. Worst $85 ever spent in my life. (Seems like the owner or the main girl in the front is the one that does really good job, so if you can't get it with her, do not go) read more

So I came in for a quick underarm wax and when I stepped into their waxing space small flies were flying from their supplies. I also don't think the girl washed her hands, she just came in and started- without gloves at that. So then she started off on my right under arm then someone else came in like the person didn't know what they were doing or needed help. I'm used to getting my under arms waxed so I know how the process goes. In all, they didn't do the proper method to waxing and they could have did a better job. read more
