We have been searching for good pizza since we moved to the McMurray/Peters area and have been disappointed. Pizza Al's was a wonderful surprise. Thin crust, good toppings, good cheese, and a good price point. We ordered Cari out, so looking forward to eating in the next time and checking out the atmosphere. Recently we tried Pizza Al's. I have to say it's very good. Especially if you enjoy thin crispy pizza with "No Flop". As a certain pizza reviewer says. The menu is basic. The building is basic. The simplicity of Pizza Al's is very welcoming. They have a nice, understated dining area right in front of the pizza counter with a big screen TV on the wall. No frills whatsoever, and it is actually a nice vibe allowing you to watch the football game with enough room for kids with lots of energy to stand at the table and eat some pizza then run around - all without bothering you whatsoever. I ordered pizza from Pizza Al's during this heatwave we are having..... my pizza was cooked perfectly and was done in a timely manner. I got 2 20 inch large pizzas. My only complaint would be that we ordered sausage on one of the pizzas and it was a tad skimpy. Tons of cheese though. Huge pizza for an awesome price! I'm a thin crust kinda gal and I don't like sweet sauce- this is just right for me. I love the mini pepperonis, and their sausage is spicy which I like. We've been a pizza al's family for years; my dad used to bring it home from the original Morgantown location when he worked down there. We've been coming to the McMurray location ever since and have never had a bad pie. Gotta respect the consistency!! Delicious, fast, and cheap- what more can you ask for? Wow! This place reminds me of being a kid and getting pizza in the city. No chain b.s. NY style pizza that is thin and crispy. Light on sauce but that is how I like it as too much sauce ruins pizza or pasta in my opinion. They also slice onions thin for the pizzas as where every other place puts diced onion on theirs and I hate when places do that lazy crap. Another good pizza shop in the McMurray area. Stop by say hello to Albino. Read his Italian newspaper as you wait for your order. The shop has about 10 tables but the parking lot has less spaces so if it gets crowded you may have to use the fast food lot next door. The crust was thin and baked to a golden brown and tasty, not sweet like a few other places. The pepperoni in top was a little sweet though. Al and his staff were very friendly. read more

A few things to note about my recent order. The price is great for a 20" pizza. Can't beat $12! When I picked up the pizza, it smelled awesome! However, upon tasting the food, the crust was burnt, had zero taste, and had zero sauce. I wish the pizza tasted as good as it smelled. Big disappointment! read more

It's fine. Would I come again, probably not. The pizza is a great price but overall we didn't think it had much taste. As in, no taste, it was basically tasteless. I am also not a huge fan of sweet sauce, and I appreciate how Pizza Al's pizza is not overly sweet. I feel like this is such a little hidden gem. They don't deliver so maybe why they are not so well known but the pizza here is excellent. Nice thin, not too thin crust baked with a perfect crunch. Perfect sauce, cheese melted perfectly. Probably in my top 2 of favorite pizza joints ever. Also, you'll probably like the prices. $8 somthjbg for a small, $10 for medium and $10.75 for a large. The pizza was very good, but the sausage topping was more spicy than I prefer. The two young men staffing the shop were pleasant and made a point of telling me that my gratuity was appreciated. I recently tried Pizza Al's with my son. We ordered a large even though it was just the two of us because it was only $10! We kept it simple, plain cheese. Everything about the pizza looked and smelled perfect when it came to the table! The crust was just how I like it; thin and crispy. There is very little sauce on the pizza but that worked perfectly for me because I'm not a fan of a lot of sauce. And the cheese looked perfect. However, I was really disappointed because the pizza had very little flavor to me. I was really surprised at the lack of flavor because it looked & smelled great. I love pizza. Almost all pizza. When I moved back to the south hills of Pittsburgh (having been spoiled by the quality and variety of food in Las Vegas), I tried several different pizzas. Pizza Al's quickly became my favorite. Minimum of once a week. Their pizza is a thin crust, almost NY style, with a sweet and tangy sauce that doesn't overpower the flavor. They use the small pepperoni that is flavorful, again without overpowering, and the cheese is the perfect blend of just a bit gooey, and slightly chewy.
