Salsa halfway eaten...yummy
Scott M.

Are you kidding me. I have lived near this place for over 8 years and always thought of it as a dive pizza place. Man was I surprised to find authentic Mexican food that was fresh and flavorful. First they brought fresh chips and salsa to the table. When I say fresh they were still hot from coming out of the fresh oil. Next I order the 3 taco meal with beans and rice. What a great intro plate to really test a newly discovered Mexican food place. I have to admit that they taste just like some of the best tacos I have had from Tijuana Mexico. The beans and rice tasted ok, not anything to get overly excited about. Also the crunchy tacos are not a winner stick with the soft shells for the win.

Amazing service!!! Guys had a busy day and ran out of cups for our water so they gave us soup cups. The more water the better! Thank you.

Pizza and tacos you say? This is a dream come true. So I went all on with a taco pizza. It was $12 for a small which I thought at first was expensive but this thing is packed with goodness. Melty cheeses, onions which I normally would not enjoy, tomatoes, crunchy tortilla chips on top and other tasty things. It was like as soon as you had enough of Mexico.... Bam in comes Italy and takes you into more deliciousness. We also sampled a Mexican drink which was sort of cinnamon vanillaish. Reminded me of a cross between a shake and.. I have no idea. But it was interesting. Then if I would have seen it before I finished my order was baklava. I mean tacos and baklava this is too much goodness to have in one place. If I lived closer I would totally be there often. And all the staff was super friendly.

Our server, Blakely exemplified the true meaning of exceptional customer service -from defining the weekly special to being attentive without coming across overbearing, he made us feel like valued guests. The food? Incredible. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell there's real attention to detail in both presentation and taste. Nothing felt rushed or generic--everything came out perfectly timed and exactly as ordered. What really stood out was how seamless the entire experience was. Blakely & Megan anticipated needs before we even had to ask, checked in at just the right moments, and made great recommendations that did not disappoint. It's rare to find a place that nails both amazing food and service, but this spot does exactly that. I'll definitely be coming back--and recommending it to anyone who appreciates a great, Annapolis dining experience.

About a 1-1.5: Sorry, Taqueria El Primo, it's all you, not me…read more We made the trek to check this taco truck out, seeing that they had some great reviews, especially for their birria that's served on the weekends. Their menu offers various tacos, American-style tacos, grilled entrees, tortas, and even kid options. We ordered: +an order of tacos - I liked that they allowed you to mix-and-match, which was nice; we had 2 of the Asada and 2 of the Pollo +an order of birria - you can ask for a taco version or a quesabirria version, in which we opted for the taco version +guava juice - generous pour in the container, but this was super watered down/diluted The chicken tacos were pretty inedible - honestly, it was one of the worst chicken tacos we've ever had from a food truck. The chicken just had an off-putting taste to them, but also that they were super bland and had a weird texture. The carne asada was okay, but it could have used more seasoning. The tortillas that were used were dried out, so we weren't fans of those and sort of picked the pieces of meat out. The birria, on the other hand, was okay, but the consommé had a pungent odor to it, so I was not a fan of that. We also noticed that, even when we were super clear when ordering that we didn't want any cilantro (isin cilantro!) on either the birria or the tacos, and didn't want any cheese on the birria when asked, those were not honored; the tacos were heavily dressed with the cilantro, and the birria had cheese at the bottom and on the exterior of the shells. The red salsa is super spicy, and spice fiends would probably enjoy it. Staff is friendly and welcoming, and there are a few picnic tables set up for those who'd want to eat al fresco. Most seem to get their orders to go. I just wished I had the same or similar delicious experience others have had with Taqueria El Primo, but no dice. Located at the Sunoco station, there are some spots available to park; just watch out for broken pieces of glass that can found all over. +avoid the chicken tacos! +consommé has a pungent odor to it +inaccurate orders/customizations +friendly staff +at the Sunoco gas station

I eat a lot of Mexican food and this is easily the best I've tasted for Miles around. Birria enchiladas were off the hook. And the salsa there is fantastic! Just a couple more notes about pricing though, because I think it's worthwhile to mention: there is no lunch menu. Most Mexican joints have a lunch menu, with smaller sizes and lower prices. not here. The portions are very generous so be prepared to get a dinner menu and to-go box. And I ordered a draft Mexican beer and got a 24 ounce glass for nine dollars. I think this is another attempt to raise your check. Most places will give you the option of a 16 or 24 ounce. Yes these are nitpicks, but I'm not complaining because the food is so freaking good.

The person working in the gas station said it was really good and so I gave it a shot. The food truck is very unassuming, but the service was great. The woman who took my order was really kind and answered all of my questions about the menu. She said the pork was similar to al pastor as opposed to carnitas, so I decided to try that because I love that combination of sweet and heat. It took about 10 minutes to get my food which wasn't a big deal, but it's worth noting as there's no real place to sit down or wait aside from your car. When I got home, I was shocked when I opened the container and saw just how much food they gave. The fries were hot, crispy, and seasoned. The hot sauces they gave me, a roja and a verde, packed a punch. But the burrito... oh my goodness... so flavorful. The pork was juicy and tender and melted in your mouth with minimal chew. The pico de gallo tasted fresh and it helped cut through the fattiness and richness of the pork. The rice and beans were typical rice and beans, nothing to write home about, but everything was really balanced. My only real note was the juices were overflowing so I had to resort to eating with a knife and fork. Also, while I loved that they toasted the burrito on the outside, it gave me store bought vibes; if they used freshly made tortillas, this would be incredible. Not enough to knock it down to 4 stars from 5, but something worth knowing for future visits. I am really excited to try their street tacos and tortas after this!
