Loved this casual and comfortable restaurant buzzing with happy people coming in for Taco Tuesday! We sat and started with chips and salsa, which we enjoyed. Their menu had a lot of really good options. We decided on the tacos, it was Tuesday, and had our choice: the steak and the carnitas! But I knew this was an authentic Mexican place because with our beans and rice on the tacos platter, there was lime! Loved the grilled onion and jalapeño on the platter too. We thoroughly enjoyed the tacos.. Lastly, the service was good. We were greeted by our server right away and we were always checked on by other servers. I'm overdue in updating my review, but it's needed. This place has definitely grown on me! The food somehow got better! The chips and salsa are free now, and the salsa is way better! It can be spicier than other nights depending on the ingredients, but it's always delicious. Taco Tuesday is so worth it! Just be warned, it can get crowded! But for $1.50 select tacos and pupusas, you can imagine why. The salsas continue to be flavorful and vibrant, the food is delicious and filling, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I've decided that when I need a wife to cook for me this is where I will go. The food is fresh and the prices are reminiscent of pre-Covid times. Checked it out for a moms note out, went back with daughter, then back again with both kids. What caught my eye the first time was beef tongue tacos, beef head tacos, and a side of cactus. I don't consider this to be your Americanized Mexican restaurant. The service was great considering how busy they were with carry out orders. My second time there I thought I would try the ceviche... I have been to ElCabrito several times before. It was always pretty good. Prices are pretty good. Food pretty good. But. Just went and got a steak burrito, like I always get. I found a FINGER NAIL in my burrito. It was actually in my mouth. There's no possible way that was an accident. The only thing I can think of is that someone did this on purpose. Forewarned by reviews, I knew that I had to order at the counter, so that was no problem. Then DGD and I just picked out a booth and someone brought paper napkins with silverware. I wish I had thought to ask for water; DGD got a bottle of soda & I didn't have a drink. Not a big deal, just something to know in future. I ordered 2 carnitas tacos & was very pleased with them. I only ate 1 because the order of chips & guacamole came first & I *may* have pigged out a little. ;) The carnitas were perfect: slightly crispy edges, moist and tender morsels with just the right spices. DGD loves birria, so she ordered a quesadilla, not realizing it was a combo meal. The plate was huge & filled to overflowing. I benefited from the dollop of sour cream, which she doesn't eat, just to augment the already yummy carnitas. As expected, she only ate about half of her food so there was a lot to take home. She ate some rice (it was OK, nothing special) but no beans. The dollop of guac was added to our leftover from the appy. The birria was excellent & she enjoyed some the next day. I must say, we were both impressed by the guac; it was, as she said, "Like when we make it at home!" Hearty chunks of avocado instead of blender-smooth. I really want to love this place as their food is very good, but it seems like a mission of theirs to mess up my order just a little bit each time. I'm not sure how it happens but out of the 6 or 7 times I have been there my order has been incorrect 90% of the time. They are the nicest people and the restaurant is always clean and kept up, so maybe that's why I keep going back. The food is good, but the service sucks. Twice I've been here, and it's awkward from the time I walk in until I leave. They have seating, but i'm not sure if I seat myself or wait. First time I sat myself, and then had to walk up and go get a menu. Right before I walked up to order the waiter came. The second time they just looked at us, and my wife was able to ask them in spanish. My son looked at me and stated that our waiter seemed as if he didn't want to be there during our meal, and i totally agreed. Hopefully they get it together. The parking is difficult with the 7-11 and liquor store neighbors, but after your first meal you will overlook it. So far, we have had carnitas, barbacoa, birra, al pastor, and chorizo tacos; chips guac and salsa; pork papusas; and chicken tinge tostada. Sides of slaw, and rice and beans. Everything has been delicious and filling. Do not expect the heat to be turned down for the American palate, spice and heat make the food all the more memorable. Most dishes are mild hot until you use the sauces or bite into the grilled onions and jalepenos served with most dishes. Those who love a real hot dish should try the chicken tinge, flavorful and spicey. Don't miss Taco Tuesday where papusas and a select variety of tacos are only $1.50 each. During my first visit there was hair in my food. I ordered the Birria tacos and the steak corn tortillas tacos. I called to inform the restaurant and was treated very nicely and I could tell that it was a genuine mistake. My food was remade and O received accommodations so that when I picked my food up I did not have to wait they were also very apologetic. This restaurant is a family oriented place with a comfortable environment for people of all ages. It is a very busy restaurant but the staff , owners and the food is more than worth the try. It is authentic and the comfort that the staff provides is beyond exceptional. Despite our small mishap I highly recommend this place ! read more

Newly opened Mexican/Salvadoran place located next to the 7-11 on Davidsonville Road. It's more of a carry out than formal sit down restaurant. You order at counter but there's tables if you want to eat inside. I tried them for lunch recently and find that their prices are reasonable for tacos, pupusas, etc. Their taco meal comes with rice and tasty black beans. Included in my order was a grilled onion and jalapeño, very nice. I ordered the carne asado taco, Al pastor, and shrimp. The tacos are very small as they are street tacos and quite good. I would have preferred more sauce and pineapple for the Al pastor and the carne asado was a little dry but it usually is in these types of tacos. Don't make the same mistake as me and drag your feet on giving this place a shot! This place is a real find. Great food. Excellent value for money, and friendly service! We grabbed takeout and ordered a random selection of items. First was an order of the chips, guacamole, and salsa. Delicious! Chips tasted fresh. The guacamole was smooth and buttery, not overly seasoned, we fought over every last bite of it. The salsa is sooo good! Perfectly spicy and I literally dipped everything I ate into it! Next, we tried tacos. The chorizo wasn't bad. The shrimp was good, but a little bland. Both these tacos reminded me of the ones I've had in Cali. Corn tortillas, diced onion and cilantro, and radish/grilled onion. Thirdly, we got a birria taco. I've heard of these but had never had one, and omg have I been missing out!!! I don't really eat a lot of red meat, but I'm more than happy to make an exception for these! The meat is crazy tender. The grilled tortilla with melted cheese is like next level good, but then you dip that thing in the consomme and it will literally make you see God (okay maybe not literally). We were supposed to be sharing this meal, but I devoured that entire birria taco without regret, lol. And I'd do it again! They had pupusas on their breakfast menu, and even though we ordered in the afternoon they were happy to prepare 2 for us. I haven't had a pupusa in years, and these didn'tdisappoint! We tried the queso, which was yummy, and the bean/pork/cheese which was equally delicious! And I was so excited they provided the red sauce and slaw- it's the perfect bite!! Lastly, we ordered a torta. I'd never had one before, and again this has been a major oversight in my life. I believe we ordered the Cubano and I think it was $11 and it weighed as much as a baby, I kid you not. It was packed with meat. You simply cannot find value for money like that in this economy. Again, this sandwich was loaded with the most tender, juicy meats. And melty cheese. It was so good. The food was perfectly packaged. They didn't skimp on anything, we got tons of sauces, etc. This entire order of food only cost us $24. I tipped them $10 because I absolutely couldn't believe how cheap it was. But beware if you ask for salsa be ready to be on fire! The green sauce with avocado chuncks was hot but the red creamy one was hotter! Came here fir dinner. The cueritos tacos were really good. There's not a lot of Mexican restaurants who offer it. I wasn't a fan of the red pozole soup. The pork did not taste fresh. I wouldn't order it again. The rice & beans were really good. I will definitely come back and try other dishes. I like that they have lots of tables to dine in. Expected so much more. Since this spot was recommended I made it over to Crofton as i was really looking for a good spot to get good Mexican food. We ordered take out so that went ok i guess. I ordered the Carne Asada plate and one chicken taco and the hubby ordered two shrimp tacos. Bill came to 27 bucks and was asked to tip (annoying for take out). Anyway, the shrimp tacos were ok according to hubby but the onions that are added are raw. Had we known we would have asked for sauteed. The Carne Asada plate was not a plate. If fact they just put the chicken taco in the plate with the Carne asada taco. No rice no beans. And all the onions were raw. So in essence we paid almost 30 bucks for 4 tacos. The best thing about the entire meal was the guacamole. Yeah wont be going back for that. read more

They can never get an order right. We ordered take out from here multiple times and they gotten our order wrong time and time again. I don't understand how either because I place my order in Spanish and they still get it wrong. I always try to order stuff with no onions and they always add onions. Really enjoyed our first visit to this very authentic/very affordable place. It's very casual and when asking others (yes as indicated in another review there's a number of Hispanic folks patronizing this place) and they say it's GOOD, I asked). I saw the chefs making fresh tortilla dough at 7 pm. The order taker recommended the flautas and they were crispy, full of tasty tender chicken and covered with fresh avocado and lettuce. The Burrito Enchilado was awesome too. Ordered steak and chicken tacos. They don't seem to have ground beef tacos but the steak was tender and delicious. The green sauce with fresh cilantro added a lot of flavor. The orange sauce has some real kick. The coconut shrimp was good but it just doesn't rise to the same level as their home cooked chicken and beef. Will definitely be back. read more

Small, new and a hidden gem. This little restaurant was squeaky clean; the waitress was really nice and helpful; several Hispanics were eating (sign of good, authentic food). The prices were excellent and portions huge! The food was tasty and hit the spot. I had fajitas, rice, black beans and salad. There was way too much sauce on the beef and it was very salty (to my taste). Reading the menu items was a big challenge - they were mostly written in Spanish and had little or no descriptions. I'm sure the waitress would have helped me, but she would have had to read the whole menu for me! I'm looking forward to visiting again soon. There was more meat on the leg than the breast (very little meat on the breast, and it was fatty. The mole sauce was a red sauce without even a hint of chocolate, and the rice was mush.
