The husband loves this place. Relatives lived nearby for a while & that helped us visit more often at the Celler. It's some seriously thick pizza, which he loves. I can take or leave thick pizza. But for those who love it, head on down to Rockaway Beach. Don't dress up. The locals are sitting there in jeans and simple shirts. My boyfriend and I were staying in an airbnb close by and decided to go to the local pizza cellar. Let me just say we did NOT regret it and went back several times during our stay. This pizzaria has great pizza, wings, etc! I would recommend coming here for anyone who likes pizza and supporting local businesses. This place is definitely off the beaten path! We went on a recommendation from someone else and it was a pretty cool place. The garlic cheese bread is fabulous! We wanted to order like 6 of them to take with us for the drive back to St. Louis. We ordered 2 pizzas and both were good. It is not the best pizza but also not the worst. It was a cool experience as the atmosphere really makes the place. It is literally a cellar. We opened the door and were caught off guard by that. The service was so-so. When we first arrived, there was only one waitress. While she informed us that she was the only one there, she wasn't overly friendly or anything. I understand the stress that can cause but I don't think she ever really cracked a smile even. If you are in the area and looking for some place local, this is definitely one place to visit! read more

Eclectic is one word for this hidden pizza place in rockaway beach, the restaurant is in a cellar which is pretty cool, they have great pizza, i had the sausage and canadian bacon pizza with a side of cheesy bread. The service was good and the food was delicious, they also make some pretty darn good long island ice teas. read more

Ah, La Pizza Cellar. Yes, it's really in a cellar. In the middle of the washed away and kind of sad little town that has become Rockaway Beach sits this little gem of pizza wonder in a slightly decrepit old building on the lake. Every time I have ever been, it seems to be a prominently biker crown but everyone is nice enough and the pizza is worth it. The crust is thin-ish but still pretty substantial. The service is not 5 star by any stretch, but the food usually comes out pretty quickly and is always hot and delicious. There is a fishing area maybe 5 miles away in Forsyth that is nice to go to before a dinner here. They also have all the old games in the main dining area. Smoking is still permitted here, but it is not smokey during the day! read more

My fiancé parents lived in this area years ago & he was surprised when a cpl of yrs ago we found it was still there. This has got to one of the best pizzas I've ever had! Love the cute atmosphere- the service was terrific- but the star of the show is the pizza itself! This place is off the beaten path but well worth the trip. The pizza is wonderful. Probably the best we have eaten. The cheese covers the whole pizza and all the ingredients are fresh. My teenage boys are wanting to go back when we return to Branson in May. The building looks difinitely plain, and you do go into the bottom cellar or basement of the building. It has a bar, pinball machines, and tvs. Great food at average prices. Will be returning soon. read more

This place is really a cellar, hole in the wall, thick smoke, slow-no food, looked in at the cook - won't eat anything she fixes, dirty place. This place needs to be shut down by the state food inspectors. After waiting so long for food and still hadn't been served I went to use the bathroom and turned around and left. The most disgusting bathroom I've ever seen. Couldn't stand the filthyness, smoke, lack of service, dirty mouthy/complaining cook & dirty kitchen. Goodness knows what you would catch here.... so very sad. Rockaway Beach is such a pretty little town, especially down by the water. I will come back to visit Rockaway Beach, but not to the Pizza Cellar. Maybe in the future other eating places will put them out of business...they need to have the building torn down and start over! read more

The Pizza Cellar is known for its unique location and food. Unfortunately, it is very much a bar. It's smokey, some of the servers can come off as unkind, and it takes a very long time to get food. The crowd can get rough, especially on weekend nights, so be aware if you're looking for a family friendly spot. read more

Great pizza. It's a cool/eclectic place located in the basement of an old building. The service was good and the pizza was great. It's a thin crust type pizza that is cut into squares. One of my boys had the lasagna and it was marvelous. I will warn you that the whole place is smoking. So if having to sit in a restaurant with people smoking turns you off this place is not for you. The night we went it was not crowded, but the table next to us lit up before we even ordered. Fortunately there are 2 sides of the restaurant that is divided by a wall and we went to the other side. There was only a table of six in there and they never lit up. The only other issue was we watched our server make our salad using her bare, non-gloved hands. read more

First I'll start by admitting that this review may be biased. I literally grew up going to this place. I worked my first job there busing tables, and I've been hanging out there about every chance I get when I visit home. The pizza is the worlds best to me. Friday nights are when to go because Rob is behind the bar, and I'd bet money there isnt a better bartender on earth. "The Cellar" is a dive in every sense of the word. Very little has changed since I first stepped through the door some 20+ years ago. The worst part about the Cellar though is that it's in the hell hole that is Rockaway Beach, MO. The RBC still holds a spot in my heart because I grew up there, and I remember it before it was the ghost town it pretty much is today. I highly recommend the Cellar if you want great pizza, and good service (when Rob's working). read more

I moved to sw Missouri from Chicago. This IS Chicago Pizza 100%. I come down here 2 or 3 times a year, get a large pizza, and order 4 or 5 freezer pizzas to go. You will not find better pizza in sw Mo. Only close 2nd would be Rossati's in Springfield. read more

Used to eat there all the time. I admit they do, or did have good pizza. My wife and I went there to enjoy the pizza on a sunny saturday afternoon, and a kind of afternoon get away. We were seated by a very unfriendly women, and after about ten minutes of sucking in second hand smoke, and not being as much as sneered at by the waitress, we left to never return. What a nasty disappointment. 1)The pizza is way too salty 2) Skimpy on the toppings 3)Crust taste and resembles cardboard (I think they add the extra salt to hide the fact the crust is actually tasteless ) 4) The place is WWWAAAYYYY overpriced 5) The way they cut the pizza just leaves you wondering what they are smoking 6) They don't even give you a box for take out????? WTH is with the bags? They want to charge you 20 + dollars for one large with everything but they can't even give you a way to transport it so it won't be ruined by a bag sticking to your food? I mean really? I have no clue who is putting all of these raving reviews with all the positive sayings but I bet its not people who have actually ate here. I have eaten pizza in Maryland,Pennsylvania,Florida,Georgia, Ohio, Arkansas and Washington DC and I have to say ..... THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE. It's hard to give a review when you don't have any food to rate. We waited 1 hr and 15 minutes after she took our order and no food! When we asked how long before our food was ready, she said 5 to 7 minutes. We waited 10 and then left two dollars on the table to cover our sodas and walked out. This is on top of the fact that when we sat down at our table there was a fly alive inside of the Parmesan shaker. She set the shaker aside. She set it on the counter where we could see it and we watched the fly buzz around inside the shaker. She waited about 30 minutes and then took it off, let the fly out and then added more Parmesan to it and brought it back to our table. The Parmesan shaker was never cleaned or even emptied of the Parmesan that had the fly all over it. When she brought the fly riddenn shaker back to our table, she removed the one we had gotten from another table and gave us the one with fly debris in it. The entire place is disgustingly dirty and electrical wires hanging from the ceiling that are definitely not code. It seems obvious that Taney County health Department is not concerned about this establishment or it would've already been shut down. We are not out of towners so we will definitely not be recommending this to any visitors or family. I can't imagine how this place stays in business. read more

Awesome pizza and awesome staff!! At first we were a little put off by the location and exterior, but that was soon dismissed by the great waitress, Tiffany!! The food was awesome! Great place for a low key, off the beaten path meal!! We ordered 3 pizzas for 8 people and ended up taking 1+ home! Love the pizza!! read more
