I recently had a very disappointing experience at Pizza Express on Western Avenue in Albany. After a long day of work and doctor appointments, I was excited to find the only place open late at night. I placed an order through their app for a Baked Pasta Combo Entree with a side of chicken, a salad, cheese fries with marinara dipping sauce, their signature bone-in buffalo wings with garlic Parmesan, and a beef gyro meal with a side of pita bread and rice. The total came to $56.48. I placed the order at 12:08PM and arrived at the store at 12:25am. They said it would be ready at 12:27Am. I walked inside the store at 12:40 after giving them another few minutes as I wanted a slice of pizza to eat on my 20 minute drive home. The pizza was great and I was tempted to order another slice but when I walked in, they had already given me my web order, which was surprisingly already sitting in the corner ready and waiting for me. The containers were steaming hot, which made me question how they could have prepared my food so quickly. When I got home, I was extremely disappointed. While I enjoyed the slice of pizza I had while waiting in the store, everything else was a complete waste of money. The chicken wings were not fresh and seemed to have been reheated in a oven as the aluminum containers they were in was filled of oil. The French fries were soggy and not fresh as if they were made in a oven as well. They lacked flavor and tasted like they were frozen fries placed in an oven to be reheated. The gyro over rice was shaved lamb meat or beef served over plain white rice with green peppers and onions. Despite being hungry, I could only manage to pick at the gyro platter and pick at the French fries. I placed everything else in the fridge to take back to the store for a refund when they reopened the next day. The next day when I called the store, I spoke with Iyahd, who hung up on me mid-sentence as I was explaining my concerns. It appears he assumed I was a college student, given their location across from UAlbany and their late-night hours catering to students. None of the food seemed freshly prepared, and the pizzas sitting in the window for display even looked old. I asked for a refund for the pasta dish and the bone-in wings, but Iyahd refused and called the manager or owner, explaining the situation in their language (not English). I reiterated that I wanted a refund for everything I did not eat, but my request was declined by him. Overall, this experience was deeply disappointing. I would not recommend Pizza Express to anyone looking for fresh, quality food, especially late at night. The owner said he would issue me a refund on Saturday when I spoke with him. I left everything on his counter even the picked at French fries and the half left gyro platter. Today is Tuesday, September 24, 2024 and he issued a refund of $31.58. In essence, he was still charging me for the gyro platter and cheese fries. I will never order from them again and I recommend that others don't.

What the fuck is goin on? Like what is that? One mushroom and a couple cubes of pineapple minced up? Isn't this shit hilarious? I mean honestly come on. Let's talk about the next one with the peppers, we got 1/4 pepper cut up on that fucker. Not to mention the minuscule amount of sausage I've never had a bad review for them, this topped it off. Worst pizza place ever. It was over $40 for this, what fucking thieves

Recently, I found myself walking home very late at night from a long day of social events. I wouldn't say I was drunk, but I had most definitely been drinking. And somehow, I had gone most of the day eating very little. By the time I was getting hungry, pretty much every other place in the area had closed their kitchens for the night. Hello Pizza Express! It was my saving grace. But the pizzas in the display case were clearly not the slices that would make me happy. So I took a long hard look at the very long menu, trying to figure out what might be delicious. The woman behind the counter suggested their pastas and seafood, but I took a hard pass at both of those. Then I saw three words in a row, that could never do me any harm. Buffalo. Chicken. Roll. Without a doubt it was a terrible mistake to eat the whole thing. And I couldn't even do it in one sitting. I was able to make it through about three quarters of the beast, and took the last quarter to finish up on the remaining walk home. It was exactly what I hoped it would be. Diced pieces of breaded fried chicken, tossed in buffalo sauce, and enrobed in melted mozzarella cheese. All wrapped up in a long baked roll of pizza dough. The thing was served with two pots of blue cheese dressing. And eating that monster probably probably took 15 minutes off the end of my life. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. But maybe this time, I would try and split the thing with someone.

The burger was kept on the grill for far too long and I wanted actual bacon and not this stuff.

So I get off work and decide to give Pizza Express on Western Ave (Albany NY) a try because I'm starving after a long day's work. I regretted it IMMEDIATELY. I ordered a Bacon Cheese Burger and the burger had turkey bacon on it The burger was overcooked after I specifically asked that it be cooked medium rare. Lastly, for nearly $15 I expect a halfway decent amount of fries but what did I receive instead? A kid's meal amount of fries. Never again. One of the worst spots I've ever been to.

The quality Pizza express is inconsistent. If I wanted McDonalds quality I would have just went there. Why don't you cook the bacon????

We ordered garlic parmesan wings& (ordered them previously )& sausage rolls this afternoon... Both food items are a keeper on the menu, wings are buffalo style, not the pigeon size...excellent wings, moist/tender...

Rosanna's is firmly in the second category -- and after an exceptional dinner that left both of us completely satisfied and already planning our return visit, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. From the moment we walked in, the ambience set the tone for the entire evening. Warm, inviting and thoughtfully designed, Rosanna's strikes that rare balance between intimate and lively -- the kind of space that feels equally suited for a romantic dinner for two or a celebratory night out with people you love. The lighting is soft without being dim, the energy is buzzing without being overwhelming, and every detail of the room communicates that this is a place that genuinely cares about the experience it creates for its guests. The service matched the atmosphere perfectly. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu -- not in a rehearsed, corporate way but in the way that only happens when staff actually love where they work and believe in what they're serving. Questions were answered with confidence and warmth, dietary considerations were handled graciously and without any fuss, and the pacing of the meal felt exactly right. Not rushed, not forgotten -- just perfectly timed. It is the kind of service that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another table to turn over. Now the food -- where do we even begin. We started with the Shrimp Balls and they were an immediate knockout. Perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented and gone far too quickly. The arugula dip alongside them was bright and fresh -- a genuinely clever pairing that elevated what could have been a simple appetizer into something memorable. This dish alone would be worth coming back for. For mains we ordered the Wild Mushroom Risotto -- elevated with a grilled shrimp skewer addition that turned an already outstanding dish into a complete and deeply satisfying meal. The risotto was everything a great risotto should be -- creamy without being heavy, deeply savory with layers of earthy mushroom flavor, finished beautifully with truffled pecorino that added just the right amount of richness. The shrimp skewer on top was perfectly grilled, plump and fresh -- a brilliant pairing with the earthiness of the mushrooms. Our dining companion ordered the Boneless Beef Short Ribs which arrived tender, deeply flavorful and beautifully plated -- the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes on the first bite. What makes Rosanna's truly special is that everything works together -- the room, the service, the food and the overall feeling of being genuinely well taken care of. This is not a restaurant that relies on one strong element to carry the others. Every component earns its place. Whether you are celebrating something special, treating someone you love or simply in search of a great dinner in wonderful company -- Rosanna's delivers on every level. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. You will not regret it. And the pellegrino soda was great I got the blood orange! And we took the olive oil orange cake to go yum!

The cuisine was Italian inspired, and heavy on vegan and gluten free option, which is a great find locally, if you're looking for that. We were sat upstairs and I enjoy the ambiance here. I had the Corpse Reviver and a glass of wine, both were great. We started with the shrimp balls, which sounded intriguing. They ended up being delightful, almost like loose crab cakes. The flavors were great and I loved the pesto. For my entree, I opted for the lemon mushroom tagliatelle. The pasta was very fresh and chewy, loved that. I enjoyed the combination of lemon and mushroom on the dish, but there were so many different mushrooms of all different textures, that some bites were more enjoyable than others. The snapper puttanesca was gorgeous as well. Overall it was a good meal, but I might have liked it a little more before the change. Definitely a great option if you are looking for dietary restrictions.

This by far was one of the worst meals we have had at Ralph's though the turkey sandwich looked good, tasted good, and was loaded with Gravy. The pasta was disgusting overcooked with watery and sweet sauce. Though what made it so bad was all the oregano in sauce which overpowered the dish. Tied for worst dish of the night was the potato skins. Skins were small, cold with very little bacon bits. And like pasta the same heavy headed chief put tons of Cheese Whiz on skins. I don't care for cheese whiz and in all the years I have ordered skins this is a first that cheese whiz was used rather than shredded cheddar cheese. The cheese spread was globby, overpowering definitely not good. To add insult to injury the skins were not cheap and sour cream which normal comes with skins was extra. At the end of the day skins were more than the Turkey sandwich. Should have stuck with family favorites as the skins and pasta were not it.
