Been stoping in for years, absolutely stunning selection of cheese and charcuteries for our small area. They also make great sandwiches. Service is good, they let you try anything before buying and are patient.

    so many cheeses.

Seriously, get off the highway for this place! We debated whether it would be worth adding the time to our already long 10 hour drive when we saw a review saying "Totally worth getting off the highway." We took that as a sign, and I am so glad we did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop looks small and unassuming from the outside, but as soon as I walked in a woman working behind the counter said, "Would you like to try a weird cheese?"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And in the moment she became my new best friend. She introduced me to several new cheeses from their extensive collection, and then served me the best grilled cheese I've had in ages, and I literally wrote a book about a grilled cheese chef, so I kind of know a lot about grilled cheeses. This place is so legit it will become a regular stop every time we drive the New York Thruway.

This place is an unforgettable gem! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We like to stop into unique places on our travels and have to admit that we weren't sure about this one upon arrival due to the unassuming facade and empty parking lot- then...we opened the door and were met by two lovely ladies that educated us on the myriad of delectable offerings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A cheese board and charcuterie lovers paradise is what this is! This place is small but the variety of cheese is amazing and extensive! They also have a selection of local meats and pickles. Don't hesitate to stop here if you can- they made us feel right at home and we got personalized attention as we were the only ones there. We wouldn't hesitate to stop here again and highly recommend that you stop and try it out as well!

A MUST stop for cheeses and cheese paninis! ++. Ambiance is an out of place WELL CURATED cheese-shop. Inside is bright and cheerful. +++. Along with imported and domestic cheese, they have a little of everything you need for charcuterie boards, picnic or a take out. CT also makes delicious and interesting cheese sandwiches! Saw oil roasted Marconas I've not seen for a year! I tried their Smoked Duck with aged alpine lace cheese and blueberry jam sammie. It was phenomenal :)). They carry local Saratoga Springs mineral water and Pellegrino. +. Price is fair for the quality +++. Service is warm and accommodating. Mary the owner was very knowledgeable and nice. She kindly offered to change the cheese on my sammie for my dietary needs without me even asking :)). +. Parking is a small private lot shared with another merchant. It's free with a tiny garden. Cheese Travelers is a gem and worth a stop!

The Cheese Traveler is that unimaginable high 5 star local micro-store! This cheese store is behind some shrubs, in a corner mall, near 4 car spots. Really though, it's the name that intrigued me. Cheese is a past time of mine. I've palated and paired cheeses in numerous countries; cheese made by goats, cows, sheep's, yaks and many more. I have eaten cheese with snake meat. Fondue. Cheese on sticks. Cheeses out of the fire. Cheese balls. String cheese. Mozzarella. Cheese eaten with white wines. Parisian cheese. You name it, I've most likely tried it! I'm the Rebel Chef after all. So of course, my nasal flavor-fluency had to come and give this shop a try and I needed to leave a manly review. The Cheese Traveler has it all. Coming in there is a 'cool' shelf in the front and room-temp display on the left, as well as wonderful charcuterie, hand sliced salami, pancetta, olives, capers, shelves of wine, breads and heaps and heaps of beers. Bottles of beer. Cans of beer! They sell anything associated with cheeses, snack hours and picnics: wafers, crackers, chips, wines, aperitif foods. And then. There's an islet in the middle - just a small stand, not much frills - where there are a few 'end' cheese bits (odds + ends), all price marked but just random stuff, for sale. My heart beat jumped, because I hate spending $50 bucks on a pound of cheese I won't like. There's a FRENCH word - un bon mot Francaise - for an idea like this, this little 'bargain-stand': 'Degustation'! When I came around, this place stunned me with the level of friendliness. Not trying to make a sale, not stepping all over me, not watching over me. The women were unbelievably friendly, happy, gracious. They gave me some pointers on local 'stinky' cheeses and ran some meats thru the cutter. All the while I had a wonderful and long-lived customer convo with all of them; about food, sandwiches, Albany. This is one of the places you don't miss. They make real thick, real mean sandwiches for satisfying lunches and they have tables inside to sit and snack and talk. For a small local 'cheese shop' The Cheese Traveler has the right name and place. Five stars all day every day here - it packs a real Yelp-punch. Great low prices too! Fantastic micro-store/butcher. Rebel review: 5+

With a cheese connoisseur for a dad, I found this place and thought it was a must. It's a hole in the wall but arranged beautifully with cheeses, dried meats, drinks, sweets, and what felt like one-of-a-kind items. They offered a variety of cheeses and the attendant was incredibly knowledgable. They make pressed sandwiches, which we all ordered. When we visited, there was no place to sit inside but with a decent drive home, we sat in the parking lot to save the integrity of the food. The sandwiches come with a pickle which was great and we added the tomato soup for one of them. The idea is great, a sandwich with fancy meats and cheeses paired into hot sandwiches. Unfortunately, the pairings were super salty and greasy and the cheese was obliterated by the panini press. Has SO much potential but I wouldn't go back for the sandwiches again. Also was kind of sad to see local cheeses priced higher than I've found in other locations. Mixed bag overall but still worth a visit.

What an amazing shop! We were on our way to a concert at SPAC and decided to stop by here to get some treats to have at the venue. Some decadent, fancy, delicious treats. The cheese monger there was able to help us select a few cheeses and some duck prosciutto and duck pastrami (no pig for this girl). The meats were SO good and the cheese equally as delicious. We only wish we could have gone back to get more. Staff here was friendly and patient. They have cookouts every Friday and the burgers on the grill smelled delicious. Definitely stop by here if you're in the area and love cheese!

I just had the greatest grilled cheese in my life. The blend of cheeses in the simple pleasure is anything but simple. The pickle was great too. Glad I found the place on a random search of Bring Fido

Last weekend I had a feeling they would be at a different food expo. I was willing to go buy tickets to enter the expo just to see if they were there. Fortunately my hunch was right. They were there I ran over to them like we were old friends. Even gave me a hug. I knew I had to stock up on the spreads but the only lady I open for 3 months and 3 weeks once open. The 8oz pack is $8 and worth every penny. I settled on 2 -Maple Cheddars. This down come off sweet from the syrup but the flavor is addictive. I have some as a snack at night. I also bought 1 -Great Garlic Parm. The most kick you in the face with flavor. It's really potent and I find works best spread on good warmed Braided semolina Bread. They go higher in the summer since they need to keep it cold and costs more. I will be a customer for years to come.

When I asked to be moved, I was simply relocated to the other side of the same section, where the surrounding tables were still dirty. On my way to the restroom, I noticed there were plenty of clean, available tables in another section just beyond the wall. Given the condition of the area where we were being seated, my husband and I decided to leave and dine elsewhere. I understand restaurants can get busy, but first impressions matter. Being greeted by a distracted hostess and then seated in an area full of dirty tables made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. We were very disappointed with this experience. I was at the Co-op the next day. A variety of their breads are located in a shelf display across the aisle from all the other breads. I saw sandwich rolls, French baguettes, plain sourdough, three seeds sourdough, whole wheat sourdough, plain challah, everything topped challah, and a couple of variations that I don't recall. Some of the loaves are also available in half-loaf sizes. I purchased a loaf of 3 Seed Sourdough ($8.69) and a loaf of Everything topped Challah ($7.29). Both are excellent in their own right. The 3 seeds on the sourdough are organic dry roasted pumpkin, organic dry roasted sunflower, and organic golden flax seeds. Anicca makes a point of stating that they make every attempt to obtain all their ingredients within 200 miles of the Troy bakery. The sourdough has a nice chewy crust and a decent sour flavor. The challah has a softer crust than the sourdough, just a bit of sweetness and a slightly lighter colored crumb. The challah is also double bagged for some reason. The loaf is placed in a plastic bag before it is placed in the outer paper bag. Maybe that was to protect the everything topping? If you visit their web page https://aniccabakery.com/ you will learn that you can order online and pickup your order at Alias Coffee Shop in Troy. You may also notice that their web page does not mention all the varieties of bread that I saw at the Co-op and shows a more limited production schedule. Maybe their web page is just not up to date. Another issue I ran into was knowing whether the bread was fresh. Glancing at the information on the label of my two choices, I saw that the sourdough was labeled as "Date Baked on10/29/25" (GREAT! That was today), while the challah was labeled as "Date Baked 10/30/25." WAIT!!! How can that be? 10/30/25 is not until TOMORROW!!! I checked several other packages and found that all the packages of challah were labeled with tomorrow's date. As an aside, does that mean I wouldn't be able to eat the challah until tomorrow? LOL Or better yet, if I eat it today does that mean the carbs don't exist yet? Still, LOL. In any event, a Co-op employee noticed my confusion and insisted on informing management while wondering if this meant the sourdough could have actually been sitting on the shelf since 10/28/25. Today or not, but probably tomorrow also, both breads were excellent. I'm looking forward to trying a whole wheat sourdough.
