Yikes! This Zaxby's was a disaster. I lived in Birmingham, AL for a year in 2010, remember going to Zaxby's a couple of times. I wasn't overly impressed but it was pretty good, so it was a possible option for me. We wanted to get a quick lunch, and Roanoke Rapids seemed convenient, but it ended up not being ideal. We were originally going to go to some other place, but realized it was full service and didn't want to waste a lot of time. We wasted like 20 minutes looking around figuring out something, we were desperate and pulled into Zaxby's. This is supposed to be fast food, but I think we ended up waiting a good 30 minutes for our food. We were pissed. Food was pretty good but nothing to write home about either (Bojangles is way better and seeing they are in Roanoke Rapids; we should've gone there! Or most anywhere else). My friend said he would've just gone with McDonald's or whatever he knew, which I adamantly disagreed saying McDonald's is weak, but did acknowledge we wasted too much time with lunch. And I wanted to go to a place we couldn't get in our area. Cook Out would've been quick, but I didn't discover them until 2024 in southwestern VA. Even Diary Queen would've been quick and right by here. I really screwed up with this choice. No way of knowing for sure. Also, parking was a nightmare and traffic getting out of the parking lot to get back onto 95.

This is so great! I had an issue with an order yesterday and called the store, assuming they would just credit me next time or apologize but no, they actually returned to the office with 2 new pizzas for me to add to the order that I already had. Drivers are super friendly (also rare from other Papa John's I've used) and the store manager is always friendly when I call to confirm the orders and I do this often because I have reoccuring nightmares that I will be waiting for 15 pizzas with a doctor's office and nothing shows so the Roanoke Rapids Papa John's accomodates that paranoia and I appreciate them.

This KFC has the food we expected it to have. That's not the reason for the one star rating here. The service at this place was disappointing for two main reasons. First, an employee argued with me about sauce cups. I spent $35 on food, including two orders of popcorn chicken and a large side of fries, and he didn't want to give me more than three cups of sauce. This may sound petty to you. But. The guy then argued at me that I got ketchup and hot sauce, and I told him I didn't ask for those things. He said that fries come with ketchup. Rather than cause a scene, I just had to walk away, because he was refusing to give me one more BBQ cup. Second, my friend who ordered ahead of me had to sit around and wait for more than 15 minutes for food (I got mine before he did), because they kept getting orders and would work on the most recent orders first. His order eventually got bumped off their order monitor, and so they just forgot about it. I hate leaving reviews like this, but when nonsense compounds on more nonsense, it compels me to say something. I made sure to return the unused ketchup and hot sauce packets before we left, since they're apparently operating on a razor thin budget.

1 Star - Serious Health Concern…read more While visiting Ruby Tuesday in Roanoke Rapids, my family and I witnessed a German cockroach crawling on the salad bar, which was supposed to be fresh and ready for guests. I immediately notified management. The only response I received was, "Oh my goodness." There was no attempt to remove food, clean the area, or address the issue in any way. Because of this, we chose to leave and not eat our food. A roach is disturbing on its own, but a German cockroach is commonly associated with infestations, which raises serious concerns about cleanliness and food safety. I have photo and video evidence of what we saw. Additionally, the restaurant appeared severely understaffed. We waited over 20 minutes just to be acknowledged and seated. This experience was unacceptable and concerning from a public health standpoint. I do not recommend eating at this location and will not be returning.
