Yikes! This Zaxby's was a disaster. I lived in Birmingham, AL for a year in 2010, remember going to Zaxby's a couple of times. I wasn't overly impressed but it was pretty good, so it was a possible option for me. We wanted to get a quick lunch, and Roanoke Rapids seemed convenient, but it ended up not being ideal. We were originally going to go to some other place, but realized it was full service and didn't want to waste a lot of time. We wasted like 20 minutes looking around figuring out something, we were desperate and pulled into Zaxby's. This is supposed to be fast food, but I think we ended up waiting a good 30 minutes for our food. We were pissed. Food was pretty good but nothing to write home about either (Bojangles is way better and seeing they are in Roanoke Rapids; we should've gone there! Or most anywhere else). My friend said he would've just gone with McDonald's or whatever he knew, which I adamantly disagreed saying McDonald's is weak, but did acknowledge we wasted too much time with lunch. And I wanted to go to a place we couldn't get in our area. Cook Out would've been quick, but I didn't discover them until 2024 in southwestern VA. Even Diary Queen would've been quick and right by here. I really screwed up with this choice. No way of knowing for sure. Also, parking was a nightmare and traffic getting out of the parking lot to get back onto 95.

The experience left me feeling STUFFED and alive, the food was Zaxbys level, not the best you ever had but not the worst, the chicken tenders were very filling and the fries were seasoned perfectly! My compliments to the chef. The chicken sandwich was average and the spicy one was a little better than the regular grilled but nothing to call the folks about. The service was great as well, workers were quick and efficient and had a great manner. Now you may be wondering "Daquan, this sounds like a great experience! Why only a 4 star review", well the only complaint I have is the restaurant was a little dirty and the floors were quite messy but that's fast food for ya! If you're ever in the area and decide to stop by Zaxbys you won't be disappointed.

I ended up waiting until 12:50 PM for it to be ready. On top of that, the women at the counter were extremely rude and unprofessional. They also forgot my pies, and when I pointed it out, they made me wait an additional 20 minutes--even though the pies were clearly sitting right there. Completely unacceptable. This location needs serious improvement in both customer service and order management. I won't be returning.

This KFC has the food we expected it to have. That's not the reason for the one star rating here. The service at this place was disappointing for two main reasons. First, an employee argued with me about sauce cups. I spent $35 on food, including two orders of popcorn chicken and a large side of fries, and he didn't want to give me more than three cups of sauce. This may sound petty to you. But. The guy then argued at me that I got ketchup and hot sauce, and I told him I didn't ask for those things. He said that fries come with ketchup. Rather than cause a scene, I just had to walk away, because he was refusing to give me one more BBQ cup. Second, my friend who ordered ahead of me had to sit around and wait for more than 15 minutes for food (I got mine before he did), because they kept getting orders and would work on the most recent orders first. His order eventually got bumped off their order monitor, and so they just forgot about it. I hate leaving reviews like this, but when nonsense compounds on more nonsense, it compels me to say something. I made sure to return the unused ketchup and hot sauce packets before we left, since they're apparently operating on a razor thin budget.

The food did come out hot but, the whole visit took more than a hour. Fast food isn't fast when you have to wait an hour to get food in an empty restaurant.
