They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and it's actually pretty spacious inside. We did have to wait a little bit to get a menu, but once we got one, we ordered our drinks and food. We got the Margherita pizza, and it was SO good! I loved how crispy the crust was. When you picked up a slice, it didn't just flop over. It stayed nice and crispy. It had so much flavor, and I was seriously so happy with it. I also got the Help Wanted drink, and it was really good too. I think I found my new favorite pizza spot! If you're ever in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by. I'm already planning to go back so I can try more of their pizzas and appetizers!

The quality of the food, and the care that used to go into preparing and presenting it, has completely fallen off a cliff. During my most recent visit this week I noticed that much of the kitchen staff seemed to be different from the team I've seen over the past few years. The pizza was genuinely disappointing. The crust lacked flavor, the toppings were sparse and it felt like something that had been rushed out of the kitchen with little attention to detail. Even the presentation was careless, which was surprising because this restaurant used to take pride in what they served. It's frustrating to see a place that I used to recommend decline this much. I really hope the upper management takes a look at what's happening to the restaurant because the Old Town Tap I used to enjoy no longer seems to exist.

Generally speaking everything I've gotten here has tasted good and I'm a big fan of the new sourdough crust pizza. However, I ordered take out for my most recent visit and they forgot the basil, which is significant at $2/topping, and more importantly - didn't cut the pizza in half according to the sides. I don't eat pork but my partner does, and yet we wound up with mixed veggies & pepperoni because it wasn't cut down the middle - a pretty basic ask when you order two different sides for the pie. I was shorted both a topping and slice of pizza because of that, before I could even consider how it tasted. When we do dine in for a meal the staff is nice and I like the interior upgrades, but again it kind of varies depending on the night. If Best Pies was always performing at the 5 star level we know it's capable of, it would no doubt be our #1 go to in town, but it's frustrating to never know or trust what you're going to get. After tonight's mishap with some basic pizza handling, it will definitely make me pause before deciding where to order from in town next time. However, Best Pies is still a place I want to see succeed and have enjoyed eating at over many years.

Most recently, I ordered a Nashville hot chicken sando, but the ingredients are actually different on the menu and the order now -- I was expecting swiss cheese and instead got about a half pound of mayo! Like literally more mayo than the amount of cream cheese I would put on a bagel (and it was on both sides like that). The sandwich itself continually fell apart when trying to eat it, too, so even though the taste wasn't terrible (after scraping off all that mayo...) it was such a horrible eating experience. There are always issues like this -- you just never know what you're really going to get. Not to mention the chicken was so thin they used two patties for the sandwich instead of a single piece of thicker and high quality chicken, like you'd expect anywhere else. We've gotten pizza undercooked and burnt and drowning in grease puddles, penne when I ordered rigatoni, and lots of other sad problem food. If the business wasn't local, we would have stopped giving them chances long ago, but we held out hope for a long time and now I'm ready to just move on from what has proven to be a guaranteed mess. You also never know when it will be ready. I have no idea why they ask for your number to text you when it's ready because that hasn't come through on time even once. Tonight I got the message my order was ready to be picked up about 45 minutes after I had already been home with my food, so there really isn't a point to the system when it's that useless. The place itself is nice and I am sure the people are lovely, so it really sucks that I just can't support this local business. I've been thinking they would finally get their act together for years and unfortunately, it gets worse over time if anything. Really a bummer because we would all love to have a restaurant in Glenshire, and because all of the issues people have pointed out wouldn't even be that difficult to solve. I genuinely hope this becomes a place I can recommend one day, but there is a reason I avoid it at all costs despite being the most convenient option by a significant margin.

Went this week because they rolled out a new pizza dough from Truckee Sourdough and it was awesome! Thin crust, good flavor, good sauce, nice and cheesy. Stoked on the new format of ordering at the bar (it was so quick, even on busy bingo night) and we got our food really quickly. I have heard back things about this place but I think they were just working the kinks out. My experience was great and the kids absolutely loved the playground and playroom while we sat outside in the sunshine and drank wine! #winning The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the menu could benefit from adding some healthy options. Our vegan friend couldn't eat anything on the slimmed down Bingo menu - the regular menu probably would have been fine. read more

I went up to the manager as we left to thank him and he wouldn't look at me or acknowledge me. What the heck?
