10/10!!!! Potentially the best pizza I've ever had! Absolutely recommend this spot if you're craving a really good pizza! They loaded the toppings to the max and it was amazing. We each got a Pizzete (perfect size for one person + leftovers and you get to customize it however you like) and the Caesar salad. Hands down the BEST Caesar I have ever had! The dressing was so flavorful, love when you can taste the garlic and anchovy in there. They also pleasantly surprised us with 2 big garlic sticks on top of the salad. The pasta bread was really yummy!! The garlic butter was amaaaaazing! My boyfriend and I agreed though it should be on the side, but minor detail. We ordered the chicken parmigiana and the bbq chicken pizza. They were okay. The chicken parmigiana came with pesto pasta, which was a bit bland, but the chicken parmigiana itself had so much extra cheese and sauce, you can make the pesto pasta a regular spaghetti. The bbq chicken pizza was okay. I liked the bbq sauce, but my boyfriend wish there was more of it. Get the pasta bread! Or order an entree that comes with it, like we did with the chicken parmigiana! Now that I spend so much time in Truckee and have eaten at a variety of spots, Village Pizzeria takes the cake as a solid spot for an easy takeout meal for the kids. The pizza is solid (and good for Truckee). They do party cuts making slices small, perfect for sharing and kiddos. Highlight: I really enjoyed the Hawaiian with nice cuts of ham and pineapple and toasted macadamias on top. The bread with butter is delicious. read more

Pizza is amazing shit service though. Completely empty open until 830 it's 430 right now and they told me I can't sit down at a table because I ordered take out and changed my mind. I asked them if I could sit down to eat instead since I've been working all day and didn't feel like driving back home yet and I was told all I can do is sit at the bar. I would understand if they were busy but there is nobody in here. Manager is a dumb . This is not how you treat your customers. Stuffed pizza is amazing though. Great Caesar salad and quite good pizza -- I think I'd order a little differently next time now that I've sampled the normal and deep dish pizza. The latter had a bit too much cheese for me, but that's also a "me" thing. I sometimes order pizzas with light cheese. I'll come back and try the chicken parmesan -- I asked if it was possible to order that before the 5pm menu time, and our server confirmed that "the pasta guy" was in house and the dish could be prepared. My family and I have been coming here a couple of times every winter for just about 15 years, so maybe the nostalgia is what makes Village Pizzeria so great for me. Either way, it's nice to see that no matter what may happen out there, Village Pizzeria will always remain somewhat the same. The menu hasn't changed much in 15 years, which is partially why we love it so much. We always get pasta (for their famous pasta bread, my mom's favorite part about Village Pizzeria) and one of their salads. Everything I've tried from their menu has been delicious, and especially satisfying after a long day on the slopes. I forgot our waitress's name but she was SO kind and cheerful despite the busyness of the restaurant! She definitely made our experience a lot better, and it seemed like all their staff were very kind as well. A couple notes: They don't take reservations and are frequently very busy. However, can't recommend this place enough. Always great to support a small business, especially one with sentimental value! read more

Our group of 9 had an early dinner here the night before Western States 100. We needed pasta and carbs! The staff got a table relatively quickly and were able to easily accommodate our large group. I had the chicken piccata which came with veggies (so buttery!) and pesto pasta. It had nice flavor but I'd prefer the breading to be a bit more toasty. It came with pizza bread coated in garlic butter. Everyone agreed we'd be happy to die in a vat of it. Hubs got the baked shells which were outstanding! Amazing pizza!!! We were recommended Village Pizzeria by some locals we met golfing that day. It is an unassuming spot in a strip mall with comfy booths and good service. We were shocked at the random service charge (which didn't count as tip) for not eating there or getting delivery. It seemed like we were being penalized for ordering more. The salads were decent, we tried house and Caesar. For pizzas, we got cheese, make your own veggie, and a couple meat items. The slices were cut on the thinner side. The flavor and texture was okay. I wish we stopped by after 4:30pm because I really wanted to try their pasta! We ordered the Numero Uno which has artichokes and the Aloha large pizzas and they were both delicious! The two pizzas fed seven of us and even had a couple of slices left over! Oh my gosh. Never have I ever been so pleasantly surprised by a pizza restaurant. I sat down and saw the menu and the wine rack and the beautiful bar and thought, this is NOT a pizza parlor. This is upscale dining. My husband and I shared the Italiana Piadine and our toddlers got the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Other family members got pizzas and other pasta dishes. All of the food was so delicious and came out quick! The service was spectacular and the wine and draft beer were delicious and complemented the food perfectly. I live in Roseville and wish we had a restaurant like this down here. Such an unassuming place in a strip mall! Got the job done. I think at this point its hard going to pizza places because im spoiled in the Bay. But Village Pizzeria definitely is a solid option if you are thinking of Pizza/Italian. I think what I liked here the most was how homey it was. I feel like if I grew up in Truckee this probably would be one of the Pizza places you grow up with. It's that old mom and pop pizza place thats been around for a minute. I loved all the cozy booths and how nice all the employees were. But the pizza is a different story. The sauce didn't really do anything to blow me away. I feel like it could of used some more herbs to bring out the flavors but again not the worst. I also wasnt too impressed by the cheese. Me and my buddy ordered a Pepperoni pizza which was fine. But I was really hoping to get a lot of cheesy flavor from our others friends' Quattro Formaggio. With all the cheese that it comes with, the quality just fell a little short in each bite. I do wanna mention however that though im not normally a crust guy when it comes to pizza, I really thought the crust on both pizzas were perfect. Its a little thick but soft in the middle. Paired with a little sauce and cheese thats left with each slice, the crust really brings everything together. On a similar note, another person at the table ordered a pasta which came with toasted bread which was divine. So again overall I think we had a decent experience. Subjectively after spending 3 1/2 days on the rubicon trail and coming off caked in trail dust and sweat walking into Village Pizzeria was like finding an oasis in the desert. One of the most delicious, fresh and loaded pizzas you will find this side of the state. Apparently a local favorite, we saw guys coming from Sacramento to eat here (almost 2 hours drive). We went on the MLK day long weekend at 2 pm but were told to wait 20 mins due to staff shortage but empty tables. Thankfully our hostess were able to get us quick service. An unsuspecting "Pizzeria" turned out to be one of the BEST dine-in pizza joints that I've been to in what feels like F-O-R-E-V-E-R! My fiancé and I were visiting Lake Tahoe to get some skiing in (and in May 2023 of all times of the year), and were jonesing for places to eat at for dinner. We decided on pizza and my fiancé mentioned he had gone to some pizzeria a while back but couldn't recall if this was the same joint. Since he put it out there in the universe, you bet it happened. This was the same pizza restaurant he has gone to many years ago and we were so lucky to experience this together! The service from start to finish was amazing and we really got to experience dinner and a show. We saw an actual bear live and direct eating from a nearby Starbucks garbage. We only came to know about that because our server, Kim pointed that out to us. Not only was she funny but she was on top of her customer service game! Very observant about water refills and knew when to check-in. This is the service I would hope to get each time I dine out which doesn't happen very often anymore or if at all. This made our experience all the more unforgettable! It's been two years since my last visit and I finally got to experience dining in! During the pandemic, we got our pizza to go and ate in the parking lot in the snow--I much prefer the experience this time around!! This is my friend's favorite pizza place and it doesn't disappoint. The pies have a generous amount of toppings and the crust is truly exceptional--a satisfying crunch on the outside with a soft and slightly chewy interior texture. And if you love the crust, you'll really love the pasta bread which is their take on garlic bread. When ordering out you get the delicious garlic butter on the side, but ordering in they pile it on as it oozes over the piping hot bread. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a mix of mountain eclecticism and modern features. They have a bar area where you can sit, but most of the seating is booths with window views. The bathroom was also immaculate, which is always appreciated. The staff were very friendly and attentive--I think we got our waters filled 4 or 5 times! If you are not in the mood for pizza, the menu is quite diverse with lots of pasta options and some creative salads. They also have some pretty affordable lunch options. This is a great place for family dining, friends, couples, and even solo diners. If you always head to Tahoe on 50, consider taking 80 and stopping over in Truckee for some truly exceptional comfort eats. read more

Grabbed a pizza here on our way back to Kings Beach and my wife surprised me with getting their Clam & Garlic pizza. It sounded good to me, I just didn't think she would actually order it. I'm glad that she did, the minute I picked it up and got in the car I was drooling from the wonderful garlic smell. They don't skimp on the toppings either, this pizza was covered to the edge with clams and garlic. The pizza was still nice and hot when we got back and it was so good. The clams weren't chewy and were cooked perfectly. Such a great combination of flavors that one wouldn't expect to work on a pizza. I would highly recommend giving it a try. 7/20/25 we are just finished hiking at Mount Rose and really wanted to have a great lunch to celebrate. We have always loved Village Pizza. Not always the pizza outstanding, but the service is always been exceptionally good. We arrived at 2:30 and waited to be seated. The place was half empty, even though it was a busy weekend and we patiently waited 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging our presence. The waitress who approached us release out out "there's a 10 minute wait for a table! "We looked at each other and decided she was having a horrible day so why would we want to sit down and be treated by such a staff member? We quietly left the restaurant. We went on a great lunch at Moodies, and will most likely try again at our favorite pizza place. However, this two did put a chink in our opinion of a place that we have always loved. read more

I came here with my family consisting of my two teenage daughters and my wife with my buddy and his family. We walked past a couple having dinner outside and notice how good their dinners smelled on our way in. Four adults and four teens were immediately seated at a very long pink booth in the middle of the restaurant. The interior is dated in my opinion. We started with a few orders of garlic bread b/c the kids were getting hangry. When it came I tried a small piece and realized that despite loving my wife that I loved what was in my mouth more. I gave her the wide eyed look of I don't care what you're going to think of my breath, I am eating $h!t til it's gone. Most of use had pizza and the two we got were darn good, but the people that ordered a pasta dish also received a "pasta bread" that was even better than the garlic bread. It was was soft from being bathed in garlicky butter Everyone liked their food but I would seriously go there again even if they only served the garlic bread and pasta bread.
