Run for this pizza. Butternut squash, cranberries, goat cheese, roasted red peppers explosion of yummyness.

I don't know how I didn't know about this gem at the lake. What a cute place. I love taking my visitors here. The restaurant is right on the lake. A short walk to common beach. I dream of the butternut squash pizza. OMG. It's sooooo good. Everything else is lap delish. Great prices and service too. I need to go back again!!

Food was AMAZING. Great view, quick service and yummy cocktails. This place deserves better ratings. I got the fish and chips. It was so fresh, flaky and cooked perfectly.

Love the ambience of this lakefront restaurant! We ordered a Caesar Salad and a large Margarita Pizza. The service was really slow. We waited over a half an hour for our food and waited again for water refills and our check. The Caesar Salad was spot on with the taste and freshness. I honestly couldn't get enough! It was a fairly large portion enough for three of us to share along with the large pizza. The pizza was good but next time, I would definitely order a different pizza. They had a wide selection of roasted squash on pizza.... Next time!

Worth going for the view! Gorgeous to sit outside and enjoy a beautiful lunch next to the lake. They have some shade on the patio as well so it doesn't get too toasty on super sunny days. Service is decent but not over the top friendly. Food was ok - you won't find real inventive items on the menu but for classic staples it's a good fit. Caesar salad was overly dressed, and hoagie was tricky to eat as it was plated.

This place has some great pizza ('Za)! The ambiance is a perfect little cabin feel with an absolutely amazing view of the lake. The service was nice and quick even with large parties before us and the servings were generous. We will definitely return when next at this side of the lake.

The to go spaghetti we didn't see until we go to room. Those meatballs were so so dry.

Za's location of course is 5 stars, but I think tourists come in and get served absolute dumpster fire of food and pretend it's good because it's Lake Tahoe, and that's how we end up with a restaurant that has over 3.5 stars instead of 2. We sat on the patio, and our sever Hannah was great from beginning to end. It wasn't too busy. I ordered the beef wagyu ravioli and it was not good. The beef was dry and the ravioli was dumped in a wine sauce. Hannah took it off our bill. Also wtf was the bread. My friend tried it I did not because there was some kind of pepper in it. My friend said it was chewy and it was served with like a creamy thousand island dressing. Huh? My friend ordered the burger. The fries were mushy. I had the smoked chicken pasta and it was DRY. Dry chicken, dry pasta. No flavor. And the asparagus looked like brains. Congealed mozzarella covered every inch. I didn't eat it and they offered me something else. We decided on spaghetti to go. I didn't open the to go box until we got to our room. The meatballs were dry and honestly visually the food looked terrible. Meatballs were black, the pasta had little sauce and again congealed cheese. Listen, I sound like a Karen. We were lovely to Hannah and she was lovely to us. I was embarrassed to not eat food because that's my worst nightmare to draw that kind of attention. Honestly I'm probably the most upset by that. 99% of the time if I don't like something I box that shit to go and either my kids eat it or it goes in trash in the privacy of my home. Couldn't even pretend and that was horrible. Usually I also allow for great service and location to bump up ratings but I think that is what lulls people into the belief they might enjoy the food. No. That being said we did not eat pizza. That could be the draw here but I can't speak to it. Overall, the owners of this place should consider how great it would be to be the whole package. Location, service, AND food. But I guess when you run a business in a tourist town you can get away with less.

Wow! The lamb chops, bread, eggplant, tea and jerk chicken was all really good. We were seated at the bar on a Sunday night after the music concert. Everyone was friendly and the lake views were amazing. Definitely come and try the local cider from Portland and any specials.

My friends and I came a bit after sunset on a weekday and were seated indoors immediately. Service was friendly and quick! Yinzer by B.C. Pizza: This was super flavorful and packed with toppings, with the salami, pepperoncini, and herb vinaigrette standing out in the dish. The large size is huge; we were able to finish our other dishes but only a bit more than half of the pizza for our group of three. Wedge Salad: The presentation was unique, and the salad was refreshing. We loved the bacon and oven-roasted tomatoes. Pepper-Crusted Duck Breast: We appreciated the quality of the duck breast, which was paired well with the sauce and cherries, hazelnut, and goat cheese. The pepper taste was slightly too strong for our taste. The price was on the higher end, but solid food and a good dining experience.

Unfortunately a waste of money. The pizza could have stayed in the oven a bit longer. There was hardly any tomato sauce on it, but too much cheese with a rubbery consistency. Overall, the pizza was completely tasteless.

What a lovely place here in Tahoe City. We ordered the Pesto Pizza, Chicken Flatbread, and the Fish Sandwich. All were great, the Fish Sandwich and Pizza were outstanding. We'll be back. The Chef (BC) is from Pittsburgh and that made this place even more special.

Great service and food. The shrimp jalapeño poppers were excellent. As was the smoked chicken salad. I had the flatbread chicken. There was pizza for the kid and a fish sandwhich

The chowder arrived on the cool side, but the staff was very prompt about taking care of it, heating it up, and getting it back to us. I wasn't a fan of the focaccia bread that came with the chowder. It was more like eating a giant crouton. I think oyster crackers or a nice piece of soft, warm bread would have been a much better. The Hula Pie was huge and delicious. Definitely big enough to share! Despite a few misses, we enjoyed our visit. The next time we're biking in the area, we'll probably stop in again.

Impossible to add pepper, as the pepper and salt mills on the table hadn't been churned or cleaned in weeks, and I don't trust taking off the lid - if it doesn't shake out, the clumps won't add any flavor. When I say watery, there was less salad dressing (possibly less than a tablespoon of dressing) than water on the lettuce. There was no dressing on the bottom of the bowl; the advantage of a lot of watery lettuce is that there was a nice soup of shredded costco parmesan and water. 6oz of grilled chicken with no seasoning for 20.99. Ordered a plain kids hamburger, received a cheeseburger, charged for a cheeseburger. I don't understand how a cook can mess up an order for a plain, no-topping hamburger, but they did have a sign for "HIRING COOK ALL SHIFTS" out front, so I guess the kitchen is what it is right now. 6 Dino nuggies and approximately 10 French fries on each plate. Didn't even get out of the restaurant before the kids were complaining about the taste; fry oil was rancid or the frozen French fries had de-temped and soaked in thaw starch before re-feezing, air frying, and being served to my kids. When a 2 year old refuses to eat dino nuggies, you know they're dried to a crisp. This is worse than graveyard casino food from the shadiest meth cooks money can't afford, and I've been a security guard for those spots. Didn't even have an ice maker for drinks in here - this place needs to just close up and offer some better tenants the space to do something besides greaseslop. I don't understand how a cafe offering food this bland, flavorless, reheated-in-an-air fryer can stay open on main street in Tahoe City. It was hospital food being served to a number of retirees with digestive conditions.
