This is a hidden gem for fresh made pizza. Very nice and excellent customer service. The doors will close Dec 31st. If you want to try out a pizza, hurry up and go! It's worth it!

I'm the pizza monster! So, I decided since I was in this area that I'd try this place out. Welp it was super bowl Sunday and they weren't busy. I should have known. First, it's cash only. What business does cash only these days? Anyhow, I got my pizzas. I thought it was going to be similar to Ledos and that is why I stopped but it wasn't anything I expected. Ledos is definitely better and I'm not sure I would come back here. The staff was nice so they get a star for that. The food was okay and edible but not anything that I'd write home about. So star for that. The establishment was clean, so giving them a star for that. The area is a bit scandalous but if you're from the city it's not that creepy.

My family would frequently visit the location near Chesapeake Beach. Lots of memories and the food is just about how we remember it. Minus the pizza burgers? Not sure if this location had them in the past... The food was delivered all the way to Rockville and was still really delicious. The pizza and subs were great.

I can't believe I have never done a review of Pizza Oven. They were a staple when I was growing up. Unfortunately, the one near my house closed down so the only one that's left is the one in Riverdale. The owner is the original owner as far as I know as well. Super nice guy. I ordered a plain pizza with extra cheese when I went there even though as a kid all we ever got was pepperoni and green peppers. But man, it took me back. Some of my favorite pizza of all time. The nostalgia factor is worth the trip.

Just got a small pizza there. No taste. Cardboard machine made crust. Better off getting it from the grocery store. I expect hand tossed New York style pizza when I travel north.

Food time travel. Once upon a time, when I was a child, the best pizza was at Pizza Oven. When I married and moved into a home of my own, the local delicious pizza was at the nearby Pizza Oven. Now all those Pizza Ovens are gone and only one remains. It is as I remember, wonderful and timeless.

A step back in time, from the working rotary phone to CASH Only for your food purchase. Mr. Brian has been a Staple in the area for over 50 years. GREAT pizza with homemade crusts and hand shredded cheese. Reasonable prices throughout the menu.

Decent thin crust pizza that's topped to order and ready in like 5 minutes. While you're waiting, enjoy the tons of kitch that line the walls and ceilings of the restaurant. It's even on the tables. Interesting. I liked it. Local business, speedily prepared and well topped. Not exactly my *favorite* pizza, but it was still quite good. It's right off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. If the traffic sucks (and when doesn't it?), then make a stop here to wait it out.

We're from another area stuck at a nearby hotel because our home flooded. Checked Yelp and here we are. He's a pizza officionado, I like things clean and simple. SCORE! This pizza is sooo good. Not greasy, not soggy, not a bunch of bread dough and it stands up when cut. Not some floppy soggy mess. We also ordered a small tossed salad which was a nice collection of romaine, spinach and assorted veggies - with an excellent Bleu cheese. We ate there, only 4-6 booths, but after we ordered everything was brought to our table. Nice, quaint place with very polite and thoughtful staff. Our pizza took less than 20 minutes and we asked for crispy. The menu at this place is amazing, the website doesn't reflect this. They've got breakfast, soups, chili, gyros, chicken noodles (can't wait to return for those!) and a t-bone steak dinner for under $20. Then there are brownies and baklava on the counter to take along for dessert. Cash only, no alcohol, small but comfortable, unassuming and wonderful vibes.

Pizza Oven was my favorite pizza restaurant growing up (in the 70s-80s), and it's great that it's still around. For those who are unfamiliar with a "Maryland-style pizza," this place is a landmark original. Prices are also incredibly low, considering the size and quality of the pizza. I try to come here every time I visit the area, and I finally brought my three kids from California, who also loved it. Be sure to sign their travel book and memorialize your visit. You could also spend an hour just checking out all the memorabilia adorning the walls.

Insane amounts of kitsch.

I am not going to review the food. It is not bad, but not mind blowing. You just need to go here to experience the overall decor and ambience. There are literally hundreds of baseball caps hanging all over the place, and craploads of memorabilia lining the joint. A pulled pork sandwich for $1.58? Okay, cool, I will take four. Right now, I am eating a loaded cheese steak, a hot mess, but real tasty, with surprisingly great bread. Brian Boileau started it in 1958 and at one point he had 14 other locations. He's probably in his late 70s. I hear him now bantering with the customers and workers. His restaurant is a living, evolving work of art and love. It has been here for 57 years, and I think you should, on this account alone, give it a try. It's the last of a dying breed around here.

Sunday 2/9/25 This…read morespot was brought to my attention due to Instagram, and I made sure to plan my visit after realizing how close it was to my dad's house. I called to order pickup, and the service was nice and friendly. Also, the spot is very reliable, as it's open until midnight and roughly 16 hours of the day, serving many different options, from fast food to comfort food. I ordered the combo over rice ($13), the Philly cheesesteak combo with French fries and lemonade ($15.49), five wings with one waffle ($13.49), and a carrot cake slice ($4). - The fried chicken wings were alright for your typical fast food chicken. - Waffle was decent: it was soft & fluffy. - The combo over rice was solid, and I liked the chicken the most. - Philly cheesesteak was okay and would've been even better if it had provolone instead of the cheese whiz. - French fries were solid: they were crispy with some seasoning on them. - The house-made lemonade was alright, and I would be open to getting it again. - The carrot cake isn't anything crazy, it's alright, but I do appreciate the $4 price tag cause others would charge double or more for a slice. Overall, the spot does a good job with fair pricing, fast comfort food, and reliable hours. I'd come back and recommend.

It's a fact: Mid-Atlantic Seafood can be easily overlooked for non-seafood options, ie where else in the area - or anywhere close ie New Carrolton, Landover Hills, Lanham, Seabrook, Glendale and Greenbelt - can you find at least 8 types of cake slices, 6 cheesecake flavors and 6 pies? The answer is nowhere unless you are at a grocery store or a bakery. I'll go over the types of desserts later. Any entree that comes with sides will give you 30 choices. Which of the 30 sides will you choose?! With so many dining options to choose from, do yourself a favor: flip-thru all of the menu options at the tiny menu monitor to the left of the dessert case before deciding what to eat because out of the 9 gigantic, rotating monitor menus, I didn't as easily see half of what they actually offer. Just go to the small monitor and read about all of the appetizers, salads, entrees and deserts efficiently. Alternatively, visit https://mid-atlanticseafood.com/new-carrollton/ on your phone. Seriously: aside from all of the seafood on the large monitors, you can get turkey, homemade meatloaf, barbecue chicken and ribs. As for the 30 sides to choose from, some are macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and French fries. We loved the mac-n-cheese. And the cheesy potatoes look overly rich but they are not. Really enjoyed those, too. These are classic potatoes au gratin with a bit of extra cheese and a lot of flavor. They also serve diverse varieties of other sides, including lo mein, white rice and cornbread. Not to mention the grilled vegetables, green beans, cheesy broccoli, corn and other options on the massive and never-ending steam table. On the 9 main video screens, you can get more than 7 kinds of fish and choose if you want it fried, baked or grilled. We wanted ours' baked. The waiter recommended to have it grilled because it would take less time and be more tender. We didn't listen to his advice, but he was right. Our baked fish was ok but we would love to come back and taste it grilled. The variety of fish offered is impressive, from ocean perch to salmon to tilapia to flounder to grouper to mahi mahi to whiting. You can also order crabs, snow crab legs and shrimp. Also want to try the stuffed shrimp here. When it says, "stuffed," that means with crabmeat. They have a garlic butter seafood boil here with crab legs, spiced shrimp, andouille chicken sausage, corn, etc. Meow. The chicken comes 4 ways: barbecued, fried or baked and as chicken wings. They have 3 types of pork chops: grilled, fried and smothered with gravy. Their entrees come with a choice of white bread, wheat bread, a potato roll or a slice of cornbread for an upcharge of $1.00. I didn't taste the cornbread on this visit but I'd like to, next time. One team member passionately said it was really good. We tried the mango slaw and it was good but not sweet. I heard the regular cole slaw is even better, so I would like to try that because I'm guessing it's as good as all the rest of their food we tried. I would also like to try the crab fried deviled eggs and the Cajun steamed mussels. Not to mention a lot of other dishes there! And now back to the cakes. They have so many desserts to choose from. I mean: multiple flavors of cakes, cheesecakes, pies, etc. They even have Smith Island cakes, which are a thinly-layered and stacked legendary Chesapeake Bay tradition. The current flavors are chocolate, red velvet and coconut at time of writing. We enjoyed our lemon short cake, the lemon berry marscapone cake and the mixed berry shortcake. Six different flavors of cheesecake, anyone? I'll next try the sweet potato and cinnamon cheesecake, please. They also have 6 kinds of pies including pecan, key lime and cookies and cream. The design of Mid-Atlantic Seafood is understated, clean and simple: counter service, a cold case of desserts and salads, a series of long steam table ms and a small eat-in dining area for maybe 20 people. The restrooms: clean and regularly checked. The staff are all helpful and busy. Good people serving good food! Do consider this a cafeteria, specializing in seafood with an out-of-this-world bakery.

When I arrived the line was very long and it didn't look like it was not moving. I went back to my car to place an mobile order. While I was sitting in the car. I started observing the mobile pick up window. There was a guy (unkept) talking to a young lady who was standing at the window waiting for her order. She looked like she really didn't want to be bothered however was being very nice and continued to listen to the guy. There were a couple of other people standing at the window. I asked one of the gentleman who I parked beside and he was waiting for his order. How long was he standing out there waiting. He said about 20-30 minutes. So I changed my mind and got back out of the car proceeded to inside. The line looked like it had gotten a little shorter but not by much. There were 2 lines of people waiting to have their orders taken, Then their was another line of people waiting to pick up their mobile order. There wasn't anyone on the mobile pick up side to assist with the giving the customers their mobile orders. While I was standing in the line. Proceeded to place my mobile order. I got out of the line and their was an Hispanic guy standing in the mobile line upset because he stated he had been waiting for at least 30 minutes for his order. Whenever one of the cashiers walked past he would as who was working the mobile side. The cashier went to get the manager, in the process of her going to get the manager. The mobile line started to get longer as well as the other 2 lines. The manager came out with coins in her hand for the cash register. Gave the coins to the cashier and started working. She did not put on any gloves or washed her hands. She just proceeded to process the orders for people in the mobile line. Once I say that I wanted to cancel my order. I asked her how could I cancel. She told ne I had to go to mobile support. The lines got longer and the manager was still fixing orders almost falling on the flower. So the person in front of me finally got his order after waiting almost 45 min-1 hour. She then proceeded to fix my order. The manager was making a mess with the gallon lemonade bag that I ordered. I was frustrated so I asked her to give the bag to me and I will fill it myself. Prior to me getting ready to leave another manager came out to assist. I believe she had just arrived to work or was coming off of her break. It appears that every time this one particular manager is on duty. Their is always chaos and mess in this particular Popeyes. Their is never enough cashiers during the time of rush hour. The lines are always back by the eating area. It is just the worst. I frequent that Popeyes quite often because it is close to my home. I don't think I will be patronizing that Popeyes for a good little while. This Popeye's needs to be revamped and restaffed with managers who are qualified to multitask and handle an high volume environment.
