The Popeyes on Annapolis Rd in Lanham, Md service has gone down tremendously. I went to Popeyes on Thursday, June 11, 2026 to get food to celebrate my mom's birthday. When I arrived the line was very long and it didn't look like it was not moving. I went back to my car to place an mobile order. While I was sitting in the car. I started observing the mobile pick up window. There was a guy (unkept) talking to a young lady who was standing at the window waiting for her order. She looked like she really didn't want to be bothered however was being very nice and continued to listen to the guy. There were a couple of other people standing at the window. I asked one of the gentleman who I parked beside and he was waiting for his order. How long was he standing out there waiting. He said about 20-30 minutes. So I changed my mind and got back out of the car proceeded to inside. The line looked like it had gotten a little shorter but not by much. There were 2 lines of people waiting to have their orders taken, Then their was another line of people waiting to pick up their mobile order. There wasn't anyone on the mobile pick up side to assist with the giving the customers their mobile orders. While I was standing in the line. Proceeded to place my mobile order. I got out of the line and their was an Hispanic guy standing in the mobile line upset because he stated he had been waiting for at least 30 minutes for his order. Whenever one of the cashiers walked past he would as who was working the mobile side. The cashier went to get the manager, in the process of her going to get the manager. The mobile line started to get longer as well as the other 2 lines. The manager came out with coins in her hand for the cash register. Gave the coins to the cashier and started working. She did not put on any gloves or washed her hands. She just proceeded to process the orders for people in the mobile line. Once I say that I wanted to cancel my order. I asked her how could I cancel. She told ne I had to go to mobile support. The lines got longer and the manager was still fixing orders almost falling on the flower. So the person in front of me finally got his order after waiting almost 45 min-1 hour. She then proceeded to fix my order. The manager was making a mess with the gallon lemonade bag that I ordered. I was frustrated so I asked her to give the bag to me and I will fill it myself. Prior to me getting ready to leave another manager came out to assist. I believe she had just arrived to work or was coming off of her break. It appears that every time this one particular manager is on duty. Their is always chaos and mess in this particular Popeyes. Their is never enough cashiers during the time of rush hour. The lines are always back by the eating area. It is just the worst. I frequent that Popeyes quite often because it is close to my home. I don't think I will be patronizing that Popeyes for a good little while. This Popeye's needs to be revamped and restaffed with managers who are qualified to multitask and handle an high volume environment. read more

Even when there's a ton of workers behind the counter, the line gets to be very long. They open up four lines, then suddenly stop paying attention to two of them. Customers are left standing there confused and watching as people who came in after them get served first--all because their cashier didn't abandon them. The cashiers and kitchen staff work at a snail's pace. Unlike any other Popeye's, watching your order get packed is like watching paint dry. I went with my friend to pickup some dog food nearby on the condition that we could stop by a nearby Popeyes. PG county has many more locations than MC and sure enough there was one 2.4 mikes away from the dog food place. I was craving a spicy chicken sandwich. I never visited when the hype was high, and someone was murdered over one of these (a nearby location). They were open for carry out and they did have tables for dine-in available with certain tables marked off limits. However, no one was dining in. There was a small line, but not a long wait. My sandwich was good, but not as good as the one I had in the Mall at Prince George's. That one came fresh from the oven. Mine was also on the smaller side; not as bug and bulging as the customer photo pictured here. It was still very tasty, and for $3.99 a cheap lunch. Some hoity places near meal have a sammie that looks just like Popeyes and have the gall to charge $13! Next time I'll have to try their onion rings which I've read rave reviews about, also compared to independent restaurants. read more

What have you done to those MARVELOUS onion rings at this location? Other Popeye restaurants served the standard frozen rings fare and so we would go to this location because yours were different and we couldn't get them anywhere else. For forever and a day they have been covered with a flaky, light, crunchy coating and were absolutely delicious. We ordered our usual family meal today and got onion rings for the side and received what appeared to be previously frozen, thickly coated run-of-the-mill-could-get-this-anywhere rings. The onion inside of most of them was completely melted away. Popeyes is not "cheap eats" and the one thing that kept bringing us back to spend the additional money were those delicious onion rings. Whoever thought it was a good idea to change those out should be fired. The chicken and other items don't vary from location to location. This is the best Popeyes in this area. Their consistency rating is pretty good. I wont give five stars lest they get the big head. Hard working, for the most part, and don't make enough money in my book. We always drive from DC to buy chicken here because It's really good. Even amid the chicken sandwich fiasco, we never got mad at this Popeyes. Now don't make me eat that cheese sandwich cause I don't like it. Very yummy .. they're like mini chicken strips. I'm a Stan of the Mari Gras Mustard ... Although they do have a new Blackened Ranch dipping sauce. I just wanted to share the superior customer service I received at this location from an employee by the name of Melissa. I came to this Popeyes location and wanted to try that Beer Can Rip'n Chicken Combo deal. It comes with some beer battered chicken strips, one (1) small side order, and a drink. After I told Melissa I wanted the Beer Can Rip'n Chicken, she asked if I wanted the combo or the platter. I decided on getting the combo, but I also added on another small side order. She then informs me that I would come out cheaper if I order the platter instead. Apparently, the platter comes with two (2) small side orders instead of just one like the combo has and it also comes with a biscuit. I obliged on the platter, but I appreciate how she was looking out for my best interest at hand. She prepares the order and hands me the bag. As pleasant as ever, she thanks me for coming in and tells me to have a great day. I reconvene the same sentiments to her and when I looked inside of my bag, she had already placed strawberry jam, grape jam, hot sauce, and ketchup inside of the bag without me even asking. Finally, I meet another server who understands the importance of the customer's needs. I have nothing against someone assuming that I wanted those items because (I really did need all of those items), but I would much rather for someone to add condiments to the bag without asking me if I wanted them versus someone who doesn't automatically put condiments in someone's bag or those who don't even ask if you would like any. Other than that, the service was quick, it was very clean on the inside, and they remodeled this location very nicely. I just wanted to send Melissa a shout out because a lot of servers don't get the recognition they deserve.
