Sunday 2/9/25 This spot was brought to my attention due to Instagram, and I made sure to plan my visit after realizing how close it was to my dad's house. I called to order pickup, and the service was nice and friendly. Also, the spot is very reliable, as it's open until midnight and roughly 16 hours of the day, serving many different options, from fast food to comfort food. I ordered the combo over rice ($13), the Philly cheesesteak combo with French fries and lemonade ($15.49), five wings with one waffle ($13.49), and a carrot cake slice ($4). - The fried chicken wings were alright for your typical fast food chicken. - Waffle was decent: it was soft & fluffy. - The combo over rice was solid, and I liked the chicken the most. - Philly cheesesteak was okay and would've been even better if it had provolone instead of the cheese whiz. - French fries were solid: they were crispy with some seasoning on them. - The house-made lemonade was alright, and I would be open to getting it again. - The carrot cake isn't anything crazy, it's alright, but I do appreciate the $4 price tag cause others would charge double or more for a slice. I ordered wings and coleslaw. They were ok. My husband ordered tenders and waffle. The waffle was light, fluffy and good. My daughter ordered Nashville chicken sandwich with fries. She enjoyed the sandwich, but not the fries. I didn't care for the fries either. It was a bit of a wait because it was busy, but service was friendly. They need to update their Uber Eats ordering app. Ordered a couple sandwiches and it requires you to pick toppings but only lets you pick one and nothing else comes with it!!! Had a gyro. Tzatziki sauce wasn't even an option and it came with nothing on it since I couldn't select more than one item. So terrible. Go elsewhere. read more

I can't believe I haven't done a review here. A very well established Chicken and Waffle spot in the Cheverly/Bladensburg area. Awesome customer service, well maintained facilities, fair prices (and they run a lot of specials). Quality food with flavor. The Chicken wings are crispy and juicy. The Waffle is huge and fluffy. Also the menu is not limited to chicken waffles, they have subs, buffalo wing, fajita platters and more. All the food here is top tier. Got back in town after a trip, and it was late and I was hungry. For some reason, this spot came to mind -- and it's convenient because I drove by it on the way from the airport. It's easy to spot from the main road, and folks were standing around waiting for their orders. When I entered, everyone was friendly, and they were focusing hard on the big soccer game. I observed the menu overhead. While they are known for chicken & waffles, they have sandwiches, desserts, and entrees like whiting. I decided to order what they're known for... a waffle with 3 pieces of chicken. It was ready in less than 10 minutes... and I decided to get a bean pie for my parents. When I got home, I was quite pleased. The waffle was big and tasty, and the chicken had a great flavor to it! I'd go back to have another round and try more things. Stopped on a whim and I'm glad I did. Ordered a cheesesteak, eggs and cheese on a croissant, wings and a bean pie. The cheesesteak was huge, well seasoned and an absolute delight. The egg sandwich was on point and the wings were delicious. My wife and I could not finish everything and we now have leftovers for later including the bean pie. This was our 1st time trying this place although we drove by it for years because we shop at the Walmart across the street. LoL! Okay, here's my take on this place. My husband and I ordered a few items to try because they had a huge menu. He ordered Chicken and Waffles and I ordered the Chicken Sandwich and French Fries. It wasn't until later that we both spotted the desserts and he had me return to the counter to get a dessert for each of us. I ordered the banana pudding for myself. He had the honey bun cake and our daughter had the oreo cake. The chicken sandwich is really good. It's crispy, the pickles are tangy, and it all goes well with the sauce and potato bun. The fries were fries. The banana pudding was surprisingly good although there wasn't a single slice of fresh banana in it. It was mainly banana cream pudding and soft vanilla wafers. My husband gave me a bite of his cake later that night. The honey bun cake has a lot of cinnamon flavor. It is overpowering. I also took a bite of the oreo cake my daughter had so that I could give an honest review. She enjoyed it because she is a child and kids love chocolate cake especially with oreo cookies. As an adult, to me that cake was nasty. The texture was chewy rather than moist and melt in your mouth. The chocolate didn't taste right either. It left a bit of an aftertaste. The establishment itself is a bit small. There are only a couple of tables to sit down to wait for your food. The older gentleman that served us was very kind. Fried Chicken It was so salty, the salt was overpowering. Like there was so much salt that it burned my tongue from the amount of salt. The chicken was cooked well, and was juicy, despite being overly salty. Spicy Fries Overly salty too. It was strange to me how extremely salty everything was. It tasted like one person put salt on and forgot they did so they added more salt. Baked Macaroni & Cheese Decent amount of cheese, was baked in a tray and the noodles were done well. The tray size as a side for the 15 piece chicken meal was too small for the price point. The Mac and cheese too was overly salted. I once ordered from here and they told us it would take 15-20 minutes. People that came before us got served and people that came after us got served, we didn't. We told the employees in the front when the food would be ready? they said very soon. We waited, and waited, and waited, we waited for half an hour. We asked them again, they said the machine was broken and they would give us 3 extra pieces of chicken. Once the food was ready we saw the food but, they didn't give us 3 extra pieces... they gave us only one piece extra and that extra food doesn't make us happy but our time is our right that should not be wasted. The chicken was also very soggy and under cooked. It was honestly the worst service they gave us so far. The hard about going to takeout places like Legends is to know what type of 4 or 5 stars to expect. When looking at the reviews online, I didn't expect it to give me takeout vibes. When I got there I was like, ohhhhh okay this place is like your "I'm hungry after church don't feel like cooking" takeout Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was good... It was seasoned well... But it would've been better if it was like carryout fried chicken. This chicken was that like super battered fried chicken. It was good but I wouldn't really go out my way to get it. Now the waffle was really good! Waffles seem simple but aren't really. These waffles were good! I would prefer to use my own syrup, not that Smucker's brand pancake syrup they give you. My parents loved the fried fish but no one really cared for the fried fish to be in a sub. We're typical like down south fish fry you eat the fish with some white bread and hot sauce. So, now we know. So, I'm going to stick with 4 stars because it was good, but not impressive. It's a good spot if it's in your neighborhood and you want a quick meal or to order a bunch of chicken for your church group dinner. I think the 4 stars would go up to 5 if the chickens was cooked differently and if they didn't use the same batter for the chicken and the fish. I don't care for places that batter all the fried food the same way. And they should have some solid Crystals hot sauce or something.
