OK, first of all-let's set expectations. This is a buffet that caters to folks on a budget....and likely with children. This isn't the place to come to get tasty, high quality cuisine, but to feed a lot of hungry people at a low cost. Once you are aligned with that, then you'll be much happier. There are three main stations: salad bar, pizza and pasta. You can stuff your face until you can't stuff anymore, which is appealing to lots of folks, hence the idea of a buffet. And during peak times, they are pretty good about keeping the items fresh and restocked. In non-peak times, however, expect that the food is sitting under a heat warmer for a while. And I passed on the salad bar when I noticed that the lettuce mix was wilted beyond what I am willing to eat. I don't usually gravitate toward dessert pizza, but my partner coaxed me into trying the cinnamon roll one and I fell in love. It was actually really good and I found myself craving more later that night. She was super excited about the oreo one. Service is a little hit and miss...since it's a buffet, you only really see staff when they restock food or occasionally clear your plates from the table. I don't think they really go out of their way to interact with customers much. They don't offer to refill drinks or carry on conversation with you. Overall, if you're ok with bland food and a very family friendly place (read-potential for sticky fingers on every surface) you'll probably be fine. My husband and kids were really wanting pizza and remembered we used to go to Pizza Pie Cafe often when we lived on this side of town. We were pretty disappointed in almost every aspect unfortunately with our recent visit. After we paid, we found our seat. This was where it began because most available spots were dirty with crumbs and grease everywhere including the seats. We shrugged it off and went for the buffet area. We had a very tough time finding a plate that was (or at least appeared to be) clean. We found plates with many different chunks and stains of food. Again, we shrugged it off and grabbed the cleanest ones. The salad bar had a good variety to choose from. Although the two salad options were a bit welted. I am gluten free and ordered a made to order pizza which I have to say was very tasty and the best part of the experience. My husband and kids grabbed the regular pizza. They said each flavor was hit or miss depending on how long they've been sitting on the shelves. Some being pretty good while others a bit rough. I skipped the pasta because I'm not a huge fan of theirs but my husband and kids picked some up. They all said that it was just okay. What ruined the visit for us was watching, who I'm assuming was the manager, "clean". He would lift some of the food options from the buffet and use a wet rag to fling all the drippings and droppings into the whole the food containers would rest in. Not seeming to care if any of that would be flung into the surrounding food options. This instantly ruined our experience and we decided it was time to go. Dirty seats, poor food quality, mediocre service, and poor cleanliness. I know it's tough finding people who actually care and want to work but I think it would be very beneficial to hire a better manager and get that place back to a least what it once was. read more

Oh Pizza Pie Cafe. You're nothing if not consistent. When you hit up pizza pie café, it's mostly for the kids. You know you're not getting great pizza but you are getting options. The pizza is entirely hit n miss--get a fresh one, it's pretty good! All the others have been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour and you could drive in nails with it. Salad was fresh. I don't know how you mess up a buffet this badly, but Pizza Pie Cafe managed it. The pasta was chewy and undercooked, like it was rushed out before it even met boiling water. The pizza wasn't much better -- several slices were burnt on the bottom, leaving that lovely bitter, charred taste that overpowers everything else. And the final straw: the forks. Ours clearly weren't properly washed. Seeing dried-on food still stuck to silverware is disgusting and completely unacceptable for a restaurant. Got there around 5:30 pm on a Saturday night and it was packed! Thankfully our friends got us on the waitlist for a table so we didn't have to wait in line to pay. However they told us to wait for them to seat us but another group after us just walked to a table that was open so once a booth opened up our two families went to go squish into there. Although it was very busy and you had to wait in line to get pizza, the staff was quick and friendly. They restocked fresh pizzas quickly cleaning up tables. Since there were only two restrooms there was a long line at one point over 10 minutes. Our friends ended up walking to Macey's grocery store to use the bathroom there. It's all about expectations. :) Is this going to be the best pizza you've ever tasted? Not even close. BUT - my kids absolutely love it here. They eat and they eat lots. Pizza, noodles, and "meat cubes" from the salad bar. Perfect. The salad bar really is pretty solid, though! And the dessert pizzas are great. The staff, while usually very young, is helpful and kind. We'll keep coming here until my kids grow out of it. So - we'll probably keep coming back for the next 100 years or until Jesus comes back. Whatever happens first. read more

With kids, I keep going back but I'm not really a fan. The pizza is low quality. I was here yesterday and the pizza was doughy and not even cooked all the way. The pasta and sauces are gross. Summer 2023 Last time we come to this restaurant. When you pay for pizza-especially a buffet, you kind of expect to be able to eat. Maybe it's just me. We gave them one last chance this year. Three strikes, and you're out. One of my children requested this place for their birthday dinner hoping it had been long enough for things to have improved. It was just our small family, and we sat for over 30-40 minutes waiting for pizza to come out. The dessert pizza waiting time is even worse. We were seated right by the kitchen and no one seemed in any type of hurry to be getting pizzas out. There must not be enough staff because there were tables and booths piled with dishes. Two stars because the lighting and music volume was good, soda machines were working, the staff was polite, and bathrooms were clean. Hopefully they can get back on their feet. I was debating where to go on my wild Saturday night while everyone else my age is at a club somewhere. I wanted pizza and Pizza Pie Cafe seemed like the perfect spot for that! I think Pizza Pie's prices are very reasonable, especially for a buffet. This was one of the big reasons I decided to give them a go--it was ~$10 for me to go, which nowadays is the price of a single pizza. However, when you visit this restaurant, you get many more options than just a single pizza. You not only have several different pies to choose from, you also have a salad bar, a pasta area, treats and garlic knots. If you check in with the lovely Yelp app, you will also receive a free drink. Which is awesome because you can refill it as much as you want, just like the buffet. The pasta may have been my favorite part honestly. You have many different pastas to choose from and then many different sauces to choose from! The one downside to the sauces is that some of them do not look the most appetizing, I think it may be because the humidity. I was going to get the Alfredo sauce but it looked a bit rancid so I ended up sticking with marinara and carbonara. The pizzas were decent. I honestly think I liked just plain old cheese the most. I also liked their cheese sticks. They also had a bucket of ranch and I thought the ranch was very good! The dessert pizzas were also pretty amazing in my opinion!! One thing I would change about this place, don't hate me: an adult hour, an adult night...something. It was flooded with kids running around. It felt like a Chucky Cheese. I truly think it is great place for kids, but it literally felt like a daycare in there. It literally felt like a scene from Daddy Day Care the entire time I was in there. The food is tasty, and filling. The wait, service, and atmosphere are decent too. It's buffet style, so everyone can eat all they want from lots of choices. It's a mess. The store is a disaster and you can tell the management doesn't care. The tables are disgusting and so is the food. I payed a decent price to eat a cardboard box. There is food all over the floor and no one sweeps it up. I had to wait 30 minutes just to get pizza. The buffet was incredibly understocked. If you look in the back where the employees work, you can see that its FILTHY. I don't know if I trust the food that comes out of there. The person that checked us in obviously didn't want to be there. I would not reccomend. read more

Came here for dinner on a weekday. It was around $9 for dinner and that's not that bad considering it's all you can eat pizza, salad and pasta. Drinks are separate ranging on the size (1.75-2.50) you get but if you use the yelp coupon for your first visit it's free. Staff is friendly and I always saw a attendant checking the tables and clearing out the plates. The person serving the pasta was polite and didn't rush you as you are deciding on what kind of pasta to eat. They're a lot pizza selections to choose from to cheese, pepperoni, hawaiian, meat lover's to bbq chicken. It was good and they also have bread sticks too. Pizza Pie Cafe is delicious. We were a little hesitant coming to a buffet during a pandemic, but they had you hand sanitize and wear gloves everytime you went back to get food. They kept the serving utensils clean and switched out. We felt like they were making a good effort to keep the buffet clean and safe for everyone. Absolute trash. I eat pizza at least twice a week. I know a decent pizza. Pizza pie cafe has the worst "pizza" I've ever tried (that's including Chuck-E-Cheese and Little Caesar's). I would rather eat a microwaved, off brand, expired pizza than eat here again. What's so bad about it? The crust is flavorless. The sauce is also sub par. There's cheese, sure, but somehow they even messed that up. It's not as cheesy as one would hope. Is just honestly so bad, I can't describe it. The salad there, to be fair, is salad. It's hard to mess that up, so I'll give them that one. The pasta, as well, is adequate. The pasta sauce lacks a certain depth of flavor and quality, but alas, it's saucy. So tonite I took my daughter, don and two grandkids to pizza pie cafe in highland. I'm not a fan of the place but my grandkids are. When we got their they had the entire middle of the restaurant blocked with chains for a football party. We had no where to sit. Found a table that could seat 8 it was dirty I asked them nicely if we could sit here as we had 5 people. They said yes and cleaned it up for us. But as I came back it actually took away one of the tables and left us with a table for four. I asked the weather where should we sit since we have five people and he brought us a chair and we squeezed into the table for four. My grandkids got some pizza that was really gross it was had been sitting out for a long time and I grabbed a salad. So we kind of Suther eating slowly to wait for more pizza because we could have some fresh pizza. We had a piece of fresh pizza for the grandkids and I had my salad and my daughter went up to use the bathroom and when she came back a boy and Brigham walked up to us and told us that we needed to leave. I was on the phone with my husband and I looked at the kid and said we need to leave and he said yes we have a big party coming and you've been here long enough. I was shocked and the lady next to us looked at me kind of confuse and she's like that guy was rude. I looked at her and I said yeah he's kicking us out. A really nice guy walked up to me and said what just happened and I said he's kicking us out because there's a big party coming and the guy said well I'm the one with the big party and I didn't ask him to ask you guys to leave. So I got up and asked to speak to the manager and her name was Megan she must've been 16 and I said you guys are making us leave she says yes on the manager and I have the right to make you leave. So I said since we have to leave can we have our money back and she said yes so I said OK let's go get my money and she went to the back and sat there with Brigham laughing and carrying on. so I grab my grandkids and we left. And we will never ever go back to the Pizza pie Café in Highland. Don't go to this restaurant very poorly ran!!! They also told us they could kick us out because of the sign on the door but yet that sign was not on the door when we went tonight it was posted when we left, Because I was taking two little kids eight years old and nine years old out for a little grandma date and I would've never taken the kids if I would've known there was no place to sit or they were going to be that busy. read more

Wait with no line at the counter at 4:45pm. Hard to find employees. The pizza bar only had 2 or 3 old pizzas to choose from at first so we decided to get pasta while the newer pizza came out that I assumed they were cooking (which did come out eventually). Didn't take long for kid to come out of the back to serve us the pasta the first pass (my daughter spends most her time at the pasta bar so it was disappointing to wait 5 minutes just for someone to serve us the second time around (I counted 5 employees so it's not like there wasn't anyone around to serve). They were out of 3 of the five sauce options and the self serve area looked like a complete mess. Also they were out of the Parmesan cheese and I felt like I was bugging them by asking them to refill it. Had to ask for forks as they hadn't refilled the self serve container. For the salad bar they only had pepperoni as the protein option at the salad bar and was out of cheese for the day when asked. The place in general was a mess. They began to form a line in the lobby and as people made their way in. I counted 6 tables that had not been bussed and people literally were just standing around until finally a guy came around and cleaned tables for new customers to sit at and that was about 15-20 minutes into our stay.
