I absolutely love going to Chuck-A-Rama in Lehi with its downhome style of comfort cooking. I go there often because I like variety that comes with a buffet, salad varieties, veggie and fruit choices as well as tasty main course meats, soups and other goodies. This chuck a rama branch is our go to branch. Before you head here make sure you check out the website and see what food they are offering for the day as each day is a different day in terms of what their main entrees are. I know there are a couple of days during the week that we do not like the food choices which we don't go. I do like that they have plenty of choices to choose from as side from the main entrees, such as ham, turkey, roast beef, two kinds of chicken such as fried and bbq, mash, green beans, corn, fries and many more. Service is good, the waiters are always pro active making sure if you're good or not. The ambiance is just like any other buffet style restaurant. Regardless, I would give this place a recommendation if you are looking at the reviews. Their dessert tables are pretty awesome too. The food was wonderful and plentiful! I started at the Salad Bar with a couple of different dressings, both the Ranch and Blue Cheese were delicious and balanced in flavor and taste. My friend filled their plate with a garden variety of veggies and fruits. There no wasted time of good conversation and connection. We laughed between the bites of delicious chicken, garden salad and yummy fruits.... Never a dull moment, except when the other patrons allowed their small children run amok in the restaurant. We came here for a graduation lunch. It was our first time. We enjoyed all the options. It was really busy so particular foods kept running out during our meal but there was so much to choose from I can't really complain because at some point I'd come back and it would be replenished. It's a buffet. You know what you're in for. This is a very family-friendly restaurant. It seemed like there were more children than adults, so be ready for some noise. I will say, compared to other buffets, this location was very clean and the food was replenished often. There was a server who would come and take our plates when we were done, and she also offered to bring us drinks. That was great, as their presence was known but not overbearing. The restaurant has different themes for the main course each day, and I went when it was Mexican food (a Thursday). It was pretty good! Im going to be honest, we were weary about coming here. We hadn't been to a buffet since COVID and we were a little nervous about the food quality but let me tell you, we were NOT disappointed. My parents came to visit us and my dad looked up top buffets in Utah and Chuck-A-Rama popped up. The food was fresh, well stocked and they had a fantastic variety! There were sneeze guards on everything and I felt like everything was kept nice and safe from too many germs. The service was friendly and attentive as well. Definitely not a high end buffet but if your looking to stuff your face full of carbs for a lot of money. Definitely visit. Maybe I am crazy and it has been a while since I have been here before my most recent visit but I could have sworn they had fresh carved meats and fresh fruits. They has a few options for fruit but not the amount they used too and there was no meat that wasn't battered and deep fried. Most of the dishes are breads, pastas, or other carbs. I mainly at the salad bar. Also they changed their rice crispy recipe and they suck now. Which was my favorite part of the whole buffet. Don't "fix" what's not broken. read more

The good: Location is clean, and the food stations are well maintained. The staff is also attentive but a bit sparse. The salad bar is still a great starting choice. The bad: The quality at this location is going down hill. I had some frog eye salad that I immediately spit out because it was absolutely terrible. My fried chicken was also quite bland and over cooked. It makes me sad because the food used to be excellent and there used to be better options. The ugly: Odd menu choices during the week. Like Chinese food. Why on earth is a chuck wagon themed restaurant serving Chinese food on a Tuesday night. There's cheaper and far better Chinese food just down the road. Seriously, why is this a thing? Consensus: Stop by on the weekend with a group. There's typically better food selections and something for everyone. But strictly avoid on weekdays. Dinner for 2 is $38 and over $40 after tip. At that price and for the experience, one might consider alternatives before choosing Chuck-A-Rama. We went here on Mothers Day around 5:30 pm and the line was inside. It didn't take them long to seat our party of 8. They do offer bibs for kids so make sure you ask. It was very busy but the staff did a good job at refilling the food that was out quickly. Our server was awesome and very kind and fast. I love the variety in options for drinks available. read more

I learned the name was a little off. More like UP CHUCK! This by far was the worst food I have ever had. They miss labeled a few things so it was a surprise when I bit into it. The meat was old as can be. Every time I went to get something it was out. 5 min later I feel sick. Food was grade F on all levels. Can't believe people actually eat here. Covid has limited the seating and has brought face masks and plastic gloves into couture. Servers will bring your silverware, you still grab a plate and napkin from the buffet area. If you're social distancing and prefer a more secluded, private dining experience, I'd suggest passing on this for now. But if you're comfortable with larger crowds in close quarters-with lots of food to go around-this is a place for you. read more

Pleasantly surprised by the whole experience! I haven't been to a buffet like this in years and they had so many more options than I thought! They had so many drink options! My wife and I eat at Chuck-A-Rama generally once a week. The food in my opinion is top notch for a buffet. The roast beef can be kind of tough. The broccoli salad is very good, the potato salad is close to homemade and also the coleslaw. We typically don't eat a lot of their desserts, but the ice cream is always good and the chocolate chip cookies would also be really good if they would add in some more chocolate chips. The wheat rolls are very good and the homemade jam. There is a good selection of soft drinks, including caffeine free diet Pepsi. The service has always been very good at the Lehi location and everything is always clean and neat. As close to homemade food as you could ask for from a buffet. I have known to be prone to having a sensitive stomach if there is even a taint of problem with restaurant food. I have never experienced any issues with any of the food at the Lehi location. Highly recommend particularly when you compare the lunch pricing to what fast food cost these days. read more

As always, the choice of the family means that's where I'm going LOL 2 large family parties in one room at the same for brunch (I was a part of the party as well) and the staff was accommodating and polite. Food was okay today, not salty but legit had no seasoning in many of the items I got. I added salt to my mac & cheese on fries because they both were saltless. First time I've seen mini corn dogs and since I love those as a snack, I gladly ate those with ranch. Fried chicken was good per usual, all "Italian" items needed flavor/seasoning. Salad bar was full of the good stuff along with the fruit/side dish bar on the opposite side. Orange Bang, Apple Beer and Icees are at this location. Dr Pepper and Cream Soda was on tap at this location too which I was happy about. For the most part, the staff was quick to replace empty/close to empty items which is helpful on a busy day. All the kids love the icees and can throw down on fries and mac like their lives depended on carb intake ;) Place was clean (to a buffet standard obviously) and staff was quick to pick up our dirty dishes when we were done. read more

I so badly wanted to give this place a five star review but I just couldn't make it all the way there. I've always wanted to go because of the radio ads. I was happy with some things and not stoked with others. Pros - Fun atmosphere! Lots of big tables for families, old west themed decor, including a whole covered wagon at the entrance and vintage pieces! It was very cute and family oriented. Laid back - definitely an easy place to bring kids Great prices - lunch $12, dinner $15 and kids are about the cost of their age, 3 and under are free. This is for an all you can eat buffet! Lots of choices- there were so many different types of food! Each day has a different theme. We happened to go on taco night but I didn't even try them. A whole table of desserts and lots of drinks - it's fun to be able to choose what you want, try a bunch of things, and go back for seconds for what you like. The cornbread and rolls were really good. This brings me to the main con - I didn't think very much tasted very good haha!!! I wanted it to so bad because there was so much about this place I thought was awesome. There wasn't a single thing I ate that I was amazed by. It all just kinda tasted like something I could make at home - it was all fine - like a neighborhood potluck. It didn't stay warm from tray to table, which was disappointing, and just didn't have any wow factor. Oh well, it was a good experience. So I was watching Forensic Files and it was the episode about the Rajneesh clan salad bar bio-terrorist attack and it brought me back to wanting a buffet. Then I pictured Chuck a Rama but not in a bad way... this place was THE BOMB YO! It was like the homestyle, mid west, white wash food of my dreams and I wish NY had one. In fact I may open up my own version here. It was not overwhelming with choices and every day of the week featured a different theme. Although I am not sure that 'oriental' night would include coconut shrimp, nor would i label anything as oriental night... but I guess in Utah that stuff just gets by without a prob. You can't expect much with these all-you-can-eat places but Chuck-A-Rama is okay, especially if you have a big group with lots of different food preferences. I'm always uncomfortable when I come in to see a sign that says it is "Oriental night" (they REALLY need to change that "Asian night" for the food listing. But the rolls are usually good (if massively sugary), there are a good number of both cold & warm options. Their salad bar is above average. Even if most of the food tastes bland & mass produced, it's fine and like I said, for larger groups, this can be a good option in a bind. read more

Today I was shocked and horrified at the lack of humanity by the manager. There was an elderly couple and she got a migraine in the middle of dinner. They politely asked if they could get the stuff bundled up. They were told no. I got up and said if it was an extra charge I'd be happy to pay for it. I was told no. To the young kid manager, it is obvious you have no real world experience nor ever gotten a migraine. They come on fast and many of them make you want to puke. If this is the companies policy, it needs to change because stuff like this can happen. I will not be back unless I hear your policy had changed! read more

An all you can eat place that caters to baby boomers and Gen Xers, specially those in the older range of the spectrum. Now just because they cater to older generations there is no need to skimp on flavor. Everything is just one dimensional. And, like someone already mentioned, they need to use correct terminology "Oriental night" is very cringy. I'm not talking about the fact that there is just isn't enough variety to refer to this food as belonging to such a diverse region but the term "oriental" is just not appropriate. I don't know what they should call it since the only offerings that could be termed Asian inspired are sweet and sour sauce for chicken nuggets, ham fried rice, and a noodle stir fry. Maybe add a Korean, Japanese, and/or something Southeast Asian inspired and then they can call it Asian night as it was already proposed. It's been years since I have been here. Used to go often before covid and sadly the food quality has gone down hill bad. Most of the food had no flavor and was worse than many tv dinners I have had. The biggest disappointment was that everything that was fried that day was probably fried in the same oil meaning that the fries and chicken I had tasted like the fish that was also fried that day. The only reason I'm not giving it one star for the food is because our service was excellent. Rafael was so sweet and very attentive. We stopped by this location today to celebrate Father's Day. We paid $79 for 2 adults and 2kids. The price was high for the quality of the food and quantity. My daughter found bugs in the drink. I took the veggie and fruit from the salad bar. Very disappointed and surprised to see the mud on the cherry tomatoes. I asked for the manager. She showed up and looked at it, questioned it by saying:" I didn't wear my glasses so not sure about that." I asked her to touch the tomatoes herself, she admitted that the tomatoes were muddy. I told her that I worried about the sanitation and food safety because our family ate the food that were dirty. She simply told me that "If you don't think about it, you will not get sick. It only happens when you get it into your mind." She took away the plate before I took the picture. Honestly, I was shocked!! This was not what I would like to have for today - Father's Day celebration AT ALL! Moreover, My daughter spent a while in the restaurant and had diarrhea issues. My husband and I have been here about 8 times in the last few years and we enjoyed it when it first opened but I can honestly say it gets worse every time we go. This was the Worst food I've had in a long time. We went on a Sunday night and about a hour and 15 minutes before going closing. There was literally hardly any food and what selection they had was the cheapest food and quality. There was hardly any meat ...I had chicken rings and chicken finger and a few pieces of fried chicken to choose from. I was better off saving my $17 plus tip and going to get a 4 for $4 from Wendy's. I asked if this was all the food they had because there were still a lot of ppl there and they said they ran out of a lot of things,? I asked before. Paid if they are gonna continue making food until close and they said they would. Regardless, the food was badly prepared and gross. Plus, the one thing I usually love is the rice pudding and they did not make anymore deserts. Rolls were burnt... save your money and go to Texas Roadhouse. My girlfriend is out of town for the week, which means one whole week of 1/2 off, lonely dinners! For some reason I decided to start the week with Chuck-A-Rama. Somehow this was my first time eating here, I guess my family was just a Golden Corral family growing up. Anyways, I had a hunger and decided to take it out here. I paid my $15 to get in, which included unlimited drinks as well as the food. Then I walked into the buffet. I was surprised at how small it was. I kept thinking I was missing a room full of more food. The seating is all off in other small rooms as well. It felt really crowded and closed off. I honestly don't really care what your decor looks like, as long as it's clean, but this place somehow managed to really dated, like it was made in the early 90's...which is weird for a place that is just a year or two old. It was quite an impressive feat. The important part is the food. I've found a good rule of thumb for buffets is to stick with the uncomplicated things that are rarely made wrong. Things like pizza, fries, rolls, scones, and mashed potatoes. Once you start drifting towards the "fancy" stuff you're in trouble. I tried some sort of fish, it wasn't good. The texture was really off. I tried some meatballs in mushroom sauce...not great. I tried herb baked chicken and spicy chicken and found too much muscle (or is it tendons? The hard to chew/eat stuff) in both compared to normal chicken. I tried some turkey and some of a roast and they were both pretty dry. However, the drink side of things is excellent. First off, they've got Iron Port. That's a star right there. Then they've got Horchata, Pina Colada, multiple juices, and both Coke and Pepsi products. They've got ICEE's, ice cream, and more. They advertise around 30 drinks, it's great. Desserts were okay. Cookies, puddings, brownies, ice creams, some cakes and such. Nothing earth shattering, but okay. Overall it was a decent trip. Of course like just about all $15 buffets I stuffed myself and regretted it on the way out to the car. Stick to the basic stuff and you can't go wrong...try to stay away from the "fancy" stuff. Enjoy an Iron Port. Or better yet, decide on what type of food you want and eat somewhere dedicated to that food. read more

Is there that much demand for salad that looks like it came out of a bag? Seems pretty pricy for the type of food but at least it includes a drink.
