Pizza Pie Cafe serves a purpose, and I largely do enjoy going there, despite food that can be described as mediocre at best. It's a family friendly atmosphere, and it's just kind of fun to go to a pizza buffet for some reason--I'm not sure why. The pizza varieties themselves are creative, if average tasting. The salad bar is nice and probably the highlight for me. The pasta bar is gross to me, though. I love fettuccine alfredo sauce, and I've rarely met one I didn't like. But somehow they've managed to create a nasty-tasting version of it here that I just can't get past, and the other sauces aren't much better. I'm also not a huge fan of the dessert pizzas, which are kind of dry and overly sweet. But hey, something keeps bringing me back here for some reason, so it works on some level. Regarding this location specifically, it's one of the better ones but does get super busy on weekend nights at right about 5:30, so be sure to arrive before then to avoid a wait. read more

My wife would give this 3 stars, my daughter even more. Me? 2 stars. Pizza is heated by lamps and you have to reach your arm over an older pizza to steal a slice of a fresher one (which makes you feel like a jerk, btw.. "I'm too good for your 20 minute old pizza and I paid $10 to be here"). The place feels like mom and dad just ordered a big meal at home but there's only a few pieces of dark chicken meat to go around, so everyone has to stick their fork in it and get some before you're only left with vegetables. There are about 10 kids per adult running around and that's just the staff. The kids that are eating there really run the place and I wouldn't doubt it if some have been there all day long: dropped off by their parents Saturday morning to just graze and run around for hours. My wife and I still go here on occasion and its cool they have a number of gluten free pizza options! And some unique toppings as well. The pizza is okay. It's great to have a variety . . . If they bother to make pizzas. We've taken the kids and grandkids many times and it's been fine. But last Thursday (1/18/18, we arrived at 5:30 pm), there were only 2 young ladies working. They just could not keep up. One ran the cash register (they are happy to take your money) and the other the pasta bar and cleaning tables. Oh, there were several other "employees" in the building, but all they could do was sit at a corner table and talk. We were there for 45 minutes and, other than the 2 young ladies, not one of them could do anything but help THEMSELVES to pizza and drinks. It took 30 minutes just get one plain cheese pizza made!!! It's a great place for a quick cheep meal. I eat out a lot do to my work and honestly it's not the nicest place but if you have several kids and not a lot of cash this place does the job. The pizza is ok the salad bar has basically all you really need. But as my kids mostly like the pizza options me and my ex wife like the pastas. Every time I go here it's terrible. It's been a couple months so last night my husband and I said we will give it another try. Well I'm done going there now because it's crappy every time. First off every time I go in the service is terrible. It's a bunch of 16 year olds who don't greet you, or make you feel welcome in anyway. As we started looking for a table noticed a lot said reserved but no one sitting there, a lot of tables also full but a few that were empty but hadn't been cleared yet. My husband cleared our table for us because I didn't see any of the employees walking around clearing tables. The salad bar is alright. It wasn't stocked very well so some things were missing and they were almost out of lettuce. The pizza terrible. Taste like it's been sitting under the heat lamp forever. With how many people and how busy it was they should have been pushing more pizzas out. Felt like all the fresh ones gone in two second and the ones that had been sitting there for awhile no one wanted to touch. Reason I'm giving 2 stars because the pasta is actually pretty good. They warm your noodles and the sauces are actually good. Also 2 stars because what can I expect from a pizza buffet? Will I go again? No I'm done with this location. Cheap, medicore pizza in huge quantities. Pros: The food is average for a buffet, and the price is good. The variety of pizzas looks great on the surface, but the end result is really underwhelming. Cons: The atmosphere is possibly the worst I have ever seen. Parties of 12 kids stuck at an 8 topper, over flowing into other parties seating. I wish yelp had negative stars. This place is gross. Dirty dishes and food piled up on the tables all around the place. Pizza Buffett tasted like the crust you get with a frozen grocery store pizza. The salad bar was nasty. The lettuce looked like it had been sitting there since the lunch hour -- unfortunately we we're for dinner. Half the salad bar items were empty, so our voices were slim. I came before and the experience was the same. They have all teenagers working here, and that's not a bad thing, but an adult needs to be around to provide leadership and some quality control. I won't eat here again and I'll tell my neighbors and friends RUN AWAY. And it's expensive. read more

We came early on a Saturday to avoid the rush. The problem is when it isn't very busy they just don't put much food one. One trip to the buffet only had 2 pizzas out (neither of which our kids would eat). Garlic knots either never came out or were always gone the second they did if so. The manager said they ran out of food because the workers were late for their shifts. The food is pretty good and we've enjoyed it in the past but if you go at 4:30 on a Saturday make sure you aren't in a hurry. read more

Per the offer extended by this restaurant I was willing to give them a second chance. But it would appear the Customer service behind the scenes is no better than at the restraunt. 2 weeks since my reply to their offer and no visible action on their part. Was the offer just a public show for the yelp community, with no true intentions of fulfilling the offer? Perhaps I have higher expectations than the average person. I work for an international corporation who's won the prestigious JD Powers award every year for over a decade for their customer service. You don't get that award for sloppy service and unfulfilled promises. And since I strive to meet the level of customer service in my daily job to win those kind of awards, I see no reason anyone else in customer service can't do the same. I have never been a picky eater, and will eat nearly anything you put in front of me......but, I was not particularly impressed with the quality of food here. Upon arrival, (Tuesday evening, 7pm), there were a "decent" number of pizzas available....but all except one or two were dry, and lacked sufficient toppings. I found myself choosing what I ate, based solely upon its appearance of freshness. Unfortunately, that left me with the spud-topped pizza (nasty), and the ham & pineapple (ok, but lacking cheese). Hoping to redeem my opinion, I moved on to the pasta bar. .....Let's just say it was nothing redeeming!! The cream sauce was decent, but the marinara sauce had the texture of chunky barf, and the taste left something to be desired. To top it off, there were so many small children roaming around, that I felt like a semi-truck dodging deer on a freeway (Don't get me wrong, children are great....Just not when you're hungry and are forced to mimic the motor skills of Indiana Jones....just to get from your table to the food bar)! Even with the discount text "coupon", it was not worth the $5.55. I had really hoped PPC would improve over the years; but, in my opinion, it has not gotten any better (maybe worse). At this point, I will not be recommending this place to anyone, except, maybe to a mother with very young children, who need a place to let their children release their wiggles. I believe that a simple soft-serve ice-cream machine would top it off nicely, and add to a much needed variety. In order to be fair, I do have three positive things to say about PPC....1). The "bus" lady was very consistent with collecting the plates we were finished with. 2). If you can stand the food, you will not leave hungry. 3). The flavor and texture of the pizza crust, I thought, was quite decent. I really hope that they will get their act together, so that they can stay in business for years to come! Just returned home from eating dinner at this Pizza Pie Cafe location. This is by far the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. Now, I realize that a person shouldn't expect a 5 star experience at Pizza Pie Cafe, but you be the judge. Here are some of the things we experienced... - It was very difficult to find a clean plate. I found myself pulling plate after plate off their stack and finding caked on food. Some plates were even sticking together. With each plate I looked at, my appetite became less and less. Gross! I finally settled by finding the cleanest plate I could and scratched a bit of food off it with my fingernail. - The lettuce at the salad bar was wilted and had rust all over it. I asked a worker if they had any fresher lettuce, and the response was "That's all we have for now," and then they turned away and walked off. - Those in our party who were brave enough to try the salad were still unable to eat it, because no silverware could be found. We ended up waiting over 20 minutes before some forks or spoons were brought out, even after requesting silverware multiple times. - All soda machines were completely out of syrup, leaving the soda without flavor, and the problem was not fixed during our time there. - The restrooms were out of paper towels and were a disgusting mess. We spoke with the manager about our concerns. After telling him about our experience his response was, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" He acted as if he were doing us a favor by trying to find some silverware or a clean plate for us. On the plus side, the pizza was decent (for Pizza Pie Cafe), but this the the last time we will visit this location. read more

The quality of the food here is about as good as other pizza buffets that I've experienced, but they have some pretty creative combinations of toppings that are rather unique, including a buffalo wing flavored pizza. Their pasta bar was a step above their competitors', with someone cooking your pasta to order and letting you put whatever sauce you want on it. I generally like this place and I'm sure I'll be back. It's family friendly, not too hard on the wallet and pretty tasty. I agree with what someone else said that it is packed and they may need to expand. We went on a Saturday night, and there was a waiting list for at least 30 mins. While we were there they were accommodating a family gathering of probably four tables, as well as a basketball team of about the same. While in line I was glad to receive breadstick bites to snack on (especially my kids were grateful!). They layout of the place is fine, but for such a busy place I think it could be better. The pizza was yummy and I enjoyed several different kinds. My brother commented that he never thought he would like a potato pizza, but actually loved it. The dessert pizzas were delicious too. I noted later my jaw felt tired from all the chewing, and I thought it was just me, but my husband also said that he felt the pizza dough was a little too chewy. Oh and they have like a pasta bar where you can select the kind you want (then they 'freshen' it for you) and serve what sauce you like (I think there's 5 or more choices). One of the best things they have there is the Balloon Lady. She works for tips. For someone with kids it's so great to have something to distract the little ones for a while so you can finally finish your plate of food. My 3 year old still has her kitty balloon, and of course my one year old popped hers before the balloon lady had even gone from out table, but that's just how it is. I was totally fine with it. We'll be back again I'm sure. I think they send out mailer coupons to the area. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but good enough to come back again. Great atmosphere, we enjoyed it. read more

I really enjoy this location of PizzaPieCafe. I have been to the Provo store which is really good too, but the family atmosphere and fun employees make this store really nice. My favorite pizza is the buffalo wing pizza and the cookie dough dessert pizza is fantastic. I recommend eating here. read more

This was a terrible experience. First off, we brought our seven year old and when he asked the girl at the register if he could have more than one at a time, she ignored him. After she refused to smile or answer our questions and further forgot to give us our cups. Her name was Mikayla and she was FOUL. After that, we enjoyed some decent pizza. Not bad at all. An employee made a salad at the salad bar, FARTED, said oops and walked away in front of customers. One employee was mopping the floor and didn't put out a wet floor sign. However the real treat was watching the employees gather in front of the salad bar and talk about their problems and why they didn't want to be at work. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

When my colleague and I first walked into the restaurant, there was no one to greet us. We waited and bobbed our heads around, looking for someone to ring us up so that we could eat, but we only found employees on break. Minutes later, someone came from out of the back and took our money. After eating and having time to people watch, I briefly saw what looked to be managers or supervisor that disappeared without a greeting or even eye contact. Good quality is the same every time I come, the pizza is only good piping hot. Good service for the teenagers that run the joint. Please do yourself a favor and do not eat here and at least not the salad bar! My gut told me not to eat it but I did anyway but the produce was not fresh and almost even smelled. Anyways after eating it( I know DUMB) , the next day I got massively sick and had all of the symptoms of food poisoning. Another thing I found troubling was the customer service. A bunch of young kids and the one at the register looked like he was barely alert. I showed him a coupon and he stood there for about 5 minutes just staring at us and then asked if I wanted to use a coupon... uh yea. On top of all of that there was no pizza in the window when we arrived at about 5:30- just old OLD remnants so we had to wait awhile for things to slowly start coming. Took forever for us to be seated and that was with no line and hardly anyone there. Pasta was OK. I may try it again since we were there close to cut off time between lunch and dinner buffet. Look... You get what you pay for. If you are expecting amazing gourmet pizza, you are going to leave disappointed. However, if you want cheap pizza to fill up on, this place is great.
