This restaurant has received wildly varying reviews, and finally I needed to judge for myself. I boldly ordered a 16 piece fried chicken family dinner, with fries, onion rings and mac and cheese as our sides. I phoned the order in, just to ask a few questions before ordering. The meal was ready in about 25 minutes, as promised. The staff who helped me and took my order was friendly, informative and kind. He was also honest. He steered me away from the mashed potatoes that I was considering, telling me, "They aren't the real thing." When I asked more, he continued to explain that they are a dehydrated, just-add-water type situation. So I quickly nixed those, and went with the mac and cheese instead. Knowing that it was my first visit, he threw in a bottle of ginger ale for free!! The meal itself was delicious and satisfying, with a few misses, as follows: Chicken - 5/5: it was so flavorful and juicy, with a substantial yet delicately crisp coating Masala Fries - 5/5. Crispy and mildly spiced . Onion Rings - 5/5. These were among the best my family and I have had. Biscuits - 2/5. Sorry to say, the biscuits were disappointing , with a cake-like, rather than flaky, crumb and bland flavor. Chicken Kitchen, please get a new biscuit provider! However, it's not worth taking off a star when the rest of the meal was on point. Chicken Kitchen, Bravo!! I'll be back,! Since he was handling both customers and food, it didn't seem hygienic and honestly made me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to mention it to him at the time, but the restaurant was very busy with many customers waiting for their orders, and I didn't want to embarrass him in front of everyone. Food hygiene should be one of the highest priorities for any restaurant. I hope the management addresses this issue and ensures that all staff maintain proper personal hygiene, including keeping their nails short and clean, for the safety and confidence of customers.

I got an estimated time to pick up my order. I casually drove over to pick up my food. This eatery is located in a plaza. I drove southbound along Morningside Avenue and did a left turn onto Kingston Road. I then did a right into the plaza and backed into a parking spot. I walked into the eatery. There's a door to enter and a door to exit. It reminded me of Salisbury House in Winnipeg. The eatery was cheerful and spacious. I was the only person here at nearly 4 pm. It should be mentioned in the same sentence. When I think of boardwalk, it's the Beaches area of Toronto. Second? The boardwalk shopping area in Kitchener. The third? The boardwalk in Atlantic City. I don't recall any Boardwalk burger joint in any of these locations. When you read the Boardwalk Canada's story, the third paragraph says Ocean City's Boardwalk. Geez, thanks for burying this detail. As Canadians, are we supposed to know where Ocean City is? Looking at the Boardwalk US site, all my questions were answered in the tagline under the title of this History page. It's Ocean City, Maryland. Why not cut to the chase on the Canadian site with this detail?! One word: Ugh! Let's get to the food. I frankly didn't think the fries were to write home about. They are apparently cooked multiple times. I didn't taste it. They tasted like once-fried fries that were lightly seasoned. I saw tater tots on the menu. I'd rather get them than fries. I hope they are yummy. I will need to get an order and find out. The burger was delicious. The brioche bun was delightful. It was soft. Yet, it held everything together. It felt fancy and it was a nice change from a bun with sesame seeds. The seasoned beef patty was juicy and flavourful. It's halal, too. I got the bacon cheeseburger - the cheddar cheese was perfectly melted with ketchup covering the top and bottom of the bun. Perfectly crunchy dill pickles and the BEST bacon I've had on a burger in months! If that wasn't enough, for the first time ever my fries were HOT AND CRISPY! They were perfectly cooked as well.
