Stopped by here for dinner with daughter's cheer team while in Cedar Rapids for a cheer showcase. We got the big room in the back. Clean place and they have a little arcade in there too. They have a variety or pizzas as well as salad and chicken and other items as well. Not only that, but you can request special pizzas and they will make it for you and let you know when done. It was an expensive dinner and I feel like you could do better for the same price. I'm very surprised the aggregate score isn't higher. We had perfect food and a perfect visit! The fried chicken is the star and it is very good! They keep it coming so it is fresh and hot. Mashed potatoes and gravy were decent. And, this location has a bigger salad bar selection than the ones we've visited in other locations. I stopped at this Pizza Ranch location because it was right across the street from my hotel. I went for dinner around 5:30 pm and it was very busy with a lot of families. I didn't have to wait, and I went right to the buffet. The buffet was clean and kept full the entire time I was there. The main thing I get is the chicken. If you have never had Pizza Ranch chicken, you are really missing out. It is FANTASTIC... This location as no different, the chicken was fresh and hot. The breading on the chicken is really good. I also got some mashed potatoes and gravy along with some corn. The potatoes were good, and the gravy really hit the spot. Stopped through here on a Saturday afternoon. We were looking for a quick place to eat, so of course, Cindy came up with an All-You- Can-Eat Pizza Joint! This was my first time here at the Pizza Barn. I had heard about this spot originally through my sister's boys. They love coming to this place! Probably because of the All-You-Can-Eat Pizza! Personally, I did not find the pizza all that great! It's the thin crust kind and they tend to come up with some very different and unusual toppings. They do offer a dessert pizza! And for those who want to eat something other than pizza, they offer their very popular fried chicken, mash potatoes and gravy, and salad bar with a couple different variety of soups. It is an incredible bargain for a family of 4 or a large group of hungry students, even a great meet up place for a get together with a group of your senior friends, but not a place to do date night or not a place to go with high expectations! If you have young kids, this is definitely a place you must take the kids! I found that there really isn't a whole lot of fun places around here that you can take the kids and let them eat to their hearts content! Come on! Pizza Ranch saved us when we had a large group of family members in town, but no places to host. We essentially planned a family reunion 2 weeks in advance and the staff was so helpful and responsive. I couldn't believe how easy it was to reserve a party room on such short notice and it pleased everyone. The adults were able to sit and enjoy themselves and catch up while the kids could play in the arcade which had 99% of their games working, had a variety of games for different ages (we had age ranges from 4-14 and they were all happy). Everyone had a blast and Pizza Ranch made it so easy for me. The manager treated us like distinguished guests and gave us top notch customer service. It was such a memorable experience that we will never forget. The food as always was great as there was a variety to appeal to different tastes. I enjoy their pizza that was constantly freshly made and kept full during our time there. They even let us order a BLT pizza to have on the bar which is my favorite! However, today we went for Sunday brunch at 9:45, and even though they had been open a whole 45 minutes before we arrived, the food was all either barely warm to outright cold. This place is great! The food is expensive but well worth it. The new game room is fun but certainly geared towards kids, and not so much kids at heart. It was still nice though and is a nice addition. I also saw that there are cameras in the game room that show in the dining room so that's neat. If you want to actually get food delivered, you may want to reconsider. Their website always says "an hour" for estimated delivery. Sometimes it's there in a half an hour (I live close)... and if it's not just forget it. Has happened multiple times but never again. Tonight the example... order online at 5:48 (officially in the email), estimated delivery 6:48. I called to check at 7:05 was disconnected, called back and got the "it's in with the driver". 7:15 I called back and cancelled.. only to be called "Dear"... seriously??? you know the person on the other end isn't happy and you pull out the "Dear". My wife and I ate here tonight, big mistake! First off, I do like Pizza Ranch but this is the first time eating at this location. Food was below average for Pizza Ranch. Had to wait nearly 30 minutes for fresh chicken even though it was 7 pm on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was full. Place was dirty. Many tables needed bussing. Trash all over the floors. Plates set out that were not clean. Watched a young brat grab a ladle from the marinara sauce and stand there licking the spoon. His mother did nothing to discipline her little brat. Several patrons walking around with their pants pulled down showing off their underwear. I suppose they thought they were making some sort of fashion statement although I have no idea what that statement might be. I have no plans to return to this PR franchise. I agree with Greg J that Pizza Ranch is kind of a hit or miss type of place. I had walked in twice before, looked around, examined the buffet tables, turned around, and walked out. The third time I HAD to be there because it was the choice of the group I was with. Surprise! It actually was good (if you ignore a few unruly, and rude customers and children). The staff was very helpful in insuring that freshly made food was quickly brought out which guarenteed freshness. It did seem that they had a hard time keeping up with the demand and were tiring out fast in the attempt to keep up. They worked very hard however and should be commended. The pizza was nothing special but not as dry or as tasteless as I expected it to be based on previous visits. The staff also has the tendency of moving pizzas from the dessert pizza table to the regular pizza table. I could not tell the difference between the regular pizzas and the dessert pizzas. And it did not help that the signage that indicated the type of pizza were mixed up. The salad selection was very good and fresh as well. I did not try any of the dressings but they did have selection of prepackaged dressing for those of us cautious about using the squeezable (and offputting and dirty) salad dressing bottles. I did not try the two generic soups at all nor the soft-serve frozen dessert. The chicken was excellent. Moist and non-greasy, it was definitely the best food at Pizza Ranch. The potato and vegetable accompaniments were also good. In summary, I would return for the chicken and salad which makes the $6.00 to-go box deal very enticing. read more

This place was ok...went on a Sunday about 1 pm with extended family....we were in the separate party room. Fairly busy, got through the line pretty quickly, you pay when you walk in. VERY limited amount of choices, short buffet tables....didn't try the pizza but my hubby did and he said it was greasy. I had some fried chicken that they had just put out and that was pretty good. Salad bar was decent, but only two choices of dressing.... didn't try the soup, but they had chicken noodle and potato chowder. Soft serve ice cream, only choice of vanilla was good, I had the peach dessert pizza, which was also good. People came to take our empty plates quite often, every 10 minutes or so.....lines moved very quickly. By no means a bad experience, just meh. Blueberry is pretty awful. Curious about the clam chowder? well, you're in Iowa, so maybe don't do that. Pizza is alright, again.. get it when fresh. When we walked in Mgr. was at front register texting on cell phone, we said " 2 please" she said, the buffet closes at 8:30 but I will still sell it to you but I won't make anything else and bring it out what you see is all there will be" We take a look and say ok. She still charged us full price. Food was ok, for having say so long but I feel we should have only had to pay half price if were only getting half the advertised buffet!! If you're gonna stay open til 10 pm, then keep cooking or close up ship!! At least start charging half price at a certain time! Geez. First time customer and probably last time customer. read more

I've been to many different Pizza Ranches, and this was one of the worst ones. Most of the pizza on the buffet was old scraps of other pizzas that had been out there earlier and were stale and dried out. I did try the fried chicken though and I thought it tasted delicious. Customer service was a worse deal in this restaurant over the food, as the employees here clearly are just here for a paycheck and don't take pride in their work. Never did they ask us for requests on pizzas like other locations do and never did they ask how things were the two times they walked by and collected our plates. We came in at the tail end of the dinner rush, and they were still unable to keep up with the pizzas. Granted, they never expected the 5-top of water buffaloes sitting two tables from us who stacked pizza on their plates 3 high, but at a buffet you have to prepare for that and keep up. read more

Still...the buffet was good as before.Stood there for 5 min at the counter waiting for somebody to come up to the counter.I could hear them yelling at each other in the back of the house. The iced tea dispenser was putting out nothing but water...but there was nobody around to ask about it. The buffet...most places would have dried out crusty food-nope..was great!Just right. Their cornbread dressing-pretty darn good..almost as good as my Grandmothers! Decent food for a decent price, nice buffet with pizza, cheese bread, potatoes, chicken, salad bar and don't forget the cactus bread(it's sweet). They have drive-thru and private meeting room(s). They are very kid friendly, clean and will make any pizza you want when dining in for buffet. Would recommend you to try them any day. read more

Been a few years since I've been to a pizza ranch but was the best experience I've had at one. Pizza was good not the best but it's all you can eat pizza so that's what you expect. Chicken was really good ice cream and dessert pizza good. In March, I received an email including $5 added to our rewards. So we decided to go to dinner and take advantage of the rewards. When we approached the counter, I mentioned that I would like to use the available rewards. I told the cashier I did not have my rewards card with me and gave her my phone number like most places that redeem loyalty programs. I was told they would not redeem the points without the card.
