Wanted to go somewhere that was fine dining but down to earth and got exactly what I was looking for.. from the soft and fresh complimentary bread to the delicious bacon wrapped dates & the pot roast which was so hefty, well balanced and flavorful, I had enough for leftovers to enjoy for later & left with a full and happy belly -- everything made me hit the food dance & I was definitely a happy camper. The owner is so humble and sweet & was holding down the place like her life depended on it. So much respect for the rebrand & standard she's maintaining. This place is great for a solo date, a date night or celebration! I hope this place grows and prospers like no other, seriously. Ambiance 10/10. This food is amazing and so is the service! Crab cakes, phenomenal. Spinach Artichoke Dip, amazing! We started with those along with spritzers. Then i had beef tenderloin kabobs substituting couscous for rice. It was DELISH! My husband had a Linguini alle Vongole, he gets it whenever he can and compares. He said this was the best. Then our little brother had Rigatoni alla Vodka for the first time ever, he wanted to try something different, and he loved it. Got suspicious the minute we parked with very few cars on a Friday night. I would really like to see a Mediterranean Rest in CR. So my hopes were high. Seated quickly and drinks came quickly and ordered the Tuscany Harvest Salad and Steak Kabobs. The waiter was very tentative and sounded new since he didn't know if the Tuscany Salad had an oil based dressing or creamy. Not a big deal. The salad came and it was just OK. The grilled vegies were soggy and not crisp, which means they were sitting and not prepared for the salad. The dressing was creamy and adequate, with lots of olives. But the vegies ruined it. The kabobs came out on a bed of rice with the same soggy vegies we had on our salad. The waiter never asked us how we wanted our kabobs cooked, they came out medium to well.. They varied due to the different sizes of the kabobs which also meant some were well done and some were medium. Some were chewy and some were tender, very inconsistent. And not very flavorful. Would not recommend. Overall a C experience and a disappointment because I really like Med Cuisine, but this was not good. read more

I came here for dinner with two coworkers while we were in town. Overall, this place was pretty good. I will say, the decor/vibe of the restaurant was odd - it definitely felt like a hodge-podge of a previous restaurant with this concept. We ended up getting the bacon wrapped dates to split, which were tasty, though I felt like maybe one more would have been good for the price (there were 5 on the plate). I ordered the Greek village meatballs as part of my meal, but it came out as an appetizer too. That ended up being fine as the tabbouleh salad I ordered was huge, so I really couldn't eat both. I was surprised by the size of the couscous in the salad as I expected the smaller grain size - this was definitely a pearl couscous. The flavor was decent, though I'd probably try something different than the meatballs and tabbouleh for a future visit. read more

I was a fan of the previous place (The Edison) and rumor has it they are the same owners so we wanted to try this place. We sat on the patio and it was nicely decorated. I was worried service on the patio would be lacking but I was wrong and we did not have any issues. The staff were pleasant and very attentive. The special was pot roast and a couple people in our party chose to give it a try. They were pleased and finished it quickly. I tried the mash potatoes that came with them and found them very flavorful. I had a shrimp linguine dish I found it good but lacking the spices I prefer. I would give this place another chance just to try other dishes, and I would recommend the same for others. read more

I went here on a date night and it was great! Although the interior was giving quiet, upscale vibes, we asked to be seated outside and really enjoyed the patio; it was covered and cozy, but felt open enough to enjoy the beautiful weather. Our server was very attentive and our drinks and courses came quickly. The food was great and we enjoyed the crab cake appetizer, the portobello sandwich, and the shrimp skewers with rice and roasted vegetables. We also ordered the tiramisu to go for dessert (not pictured) and it was also fantastic! I'll be back to try other dishes! read more

We'd come here because we'd heard it was Italian and we're hoping for some Italian options. To start, our waitress was awesome. The restaurant was dead when we were there so stuff came out really fast and our waitress was attentive. She brought us menus and I immediately was confused. There were no Italian options on the menu! If you're hoping for bolognese, lasagna, Italian pizza or anything else that comes to mind with Italian, they don't have it. They had a ton of what I'm assuming is Mediterranean and the menu was mostly kebabs and rice bowls? Neither of which scream Italian. It also had Mac and cheese and other American offerings, and that's pretty much it. We also saw they had margaritas advertised and other drinks that just didn't make any sense. A Negroni or limoncello would've made more sense if they were going for Italian. So overall, the menu just seemed really confused. For appetizers we got calamari and cheese curds. Calamari was really good and it was a nice portion size. The cheese curds were also a hit! I got the Alfredo and added chicken because plain Alfredo on a menu is strange, and the pasta was great but the chicken was horribly overcooked. My spouse ordered the linguine alle Vongole. This was awful lol. My husband took one bite of the noodles and screwed up his face saying it tasted like straight up lemon juice. I took a bite and he wasn't kidding! I actually pulled up the menu later and it made no sense why it was so lemony but it was so bad that for the first time in our lives we sent a dish back! Our waitress was so sweet and understanding and took it off of our bill. She took care of it promptly and we really can't say enough good things about her. Overall, I think the menu needs a rewrite. This place isn't remotely Italian and they seem to be confused about what they are. The apps are decent and the space is really cute, so there's potential here they just need a new menu or a rebrand! read more

I tried the new Tuscany Grill for the first time tonight. There were three in our party. We shared the trio of hummus as a starter. I'm not positive, but I believe the three types were pesto, roasted red pepper, and traditional. All three were absolutely amazing. For my meal, I had the rigatoni ala vodka. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a relatively standard ala vodka with one exception, which was that the chicken was what I guess I would call "shredded," but it wasn't overly shredded. I think "ripped" might be a better descriptor. The rigatoni was perfectly cooked, and so was the chicken. The sauce was flavorful. I would definitely recommend it. My wife had a turkey sandwich, which she said was good. My daughter had the macaroni and cheese, which was apparently the same cheese sauce that The Edison used to make for their mac and cheese, except with cavatappi as the pasta. I'm trying to make better decisions. So, I didn't order dessert. I did try one tiny bite of each of my dining companions' desserts. The s'mores lava cake was pretty good. I'm not a big s'mores fan, though. I am a big tiramisu fan, however. Tuscany Grill's tiramisu was one of the best I've ever had. For those who miss The Edison, our waitress said that the owner was previously a cook at The Edison, and a few familiar items are still available (including the bacon wrapped dates and the spin dip). read more

My family (6 of us) is in town for a family reunion and staying in one of the nearby hotels. We grew up in CR but all live on the west coast and in Chicago now. We were looking for good healthy food and found it at the Tuscany grill. We all settled on the skewers and the roasted vegetables. Meats cooked perfectly with nice sauces. (Liked the mustard best). And wonderful large serving of perfectly cooked veggies. Yum! Cheesecake was lovely. Nice wine selection. Great service. Nice ambiance. So much nicer than standard Iowa fare! Had to try this place after seeing yet another owner take over this property. Went on a Friday for dinner - oddly was told there would be a 15-20 minute wait unless we wanted to sit in the bar? Sure - we chose the bar. Wasn't a single person actually seated at "the bar" but we grabbed a high top and ordered. I was hoping to try the Mediterranean Margarita, but when I saw it was $14, I passed. Chose the pot roast/brisket and wife had the turkey pesto sandwich. Both were ok. Service was great. Bar was not crowded. Plenty of seating. Was confused with the wait? I had high hopes and this place could still make it. Needs some signature dishes and a good happy hour special. A really good experience! We walked in and were seated immediately and our waitress was great. The absolute standouts were the Shrimp Linguone Diavlo and Spinach Artichoke Dip- YUM!! The reason for the 4 stars: the vibe. I was really hoping it would feel different than The Edison (previous restaurant in the building) but it felt the exact same. Not to mention how stoic and cold the bar area feels- not the best place to eat "comfort food" as their website suggests. The food is SO MUCH better than the last place, but I hope next time I visit it feels a little more inviting. read more

Had a pickup order today and really enjoyed it. I had the crab melt which tasted great and was filling as well.

The chicken was overdone. The sauces and accompanying sides were good, but nothing makes up for improperly cooked chicken.

A friend and I wanted someplace a little beyond the ordinary for dinner on the last day of my visit. She suggested the Tuscany Grill because of its ambiance. It is a pretty place, with some tables tucked into corners making them more private, and lighting that is adequate but not glaring. We were showed to a table close to the bar, which I was surprised was not noisy or crowded. Our attentive server Jeanette came within a few minutes with menus and a lovely smile to take our drink orders. My friend had chardonnay, and I chose the sangiovese, which I had loved when in Italy. Jeanette brought a basket of warm sliced bread with butter, ready for our decisions of Pork and Shrimp Skewers served on beds of rice with sauteed zucchini. The cooking time was quicker than I expected, and I was pleased that the zucchini was firm and not limp. Served on two skewers, the pork pieces were larger than bite-sized and required cutting. The meat was tender and flavorful, served with a delicious mustard sauce and pita bread. My friend's shrimp were large and tender, and she enjoyed them very much. Jeanette's timing was excellent: as our eating slowed, she appeared and agreed to bring boxes for leftovers. Then she tempted us with dessert: Tiramisu and Chocolate Lava Cake were just too good to pass up. Both were excellent. We complimented Jeanette on her excellent serving, and promised ourselves to come here again. This place has good food in a good setting. I imagine when most of the tables are full on special occasions such as Mother's Day it may get noisy, but the tasty food is worth it. read more
