Never been to a pizza buffet at all or a pizza ranch before going here - ended up going two days in a row! I'm not sure about the other reviews I'm reading on here, but every time I've gone has been different times of day, different days of the week, and they have always had food out constantly - usually bringing it out the moment someone gets the last slice or the last fry, etc. NEVER had problems with them having "no pizza" either, there is an entire section that only has pizza, what else would be there? It sounds like most reviews about that even point out it's because big families come in and devour it all - as if that's the fault of the staff. I expected lower quality pizza and food in general but it's actually been really good every time as well. It's always hot and fresh, though I will say at times they DO have only specialized pizzas for awhile (i.e. no basic pepperoni sometimes) and that upsets me as an autistic eater who kind of needs the basics but I could also have asked staff if they'd prepare one and I didn't. The only thing that's ever been an issue is other customers. Absolutely going to keep returning and recommend it! read more

This place is everything Soup or Salad wanted to be but never was. The pizza is excellent, the fried chicken is crispy and tender... crispy and tender, it was worth saying twice. The salad bar, is stellar... you can build your very own cob salad, or simply add a little ruffage to go with your pizza. The soda machines are properly set with the right amount of bubble, never out of order... most importantly the ice cream machine is always in order. The staff clear your plates quickly, giving you the chance to get right back up and fill new ones. Oh yeah, this place is a all you can eat buffet... did I mention that? used to be the best place in town for pizza and chicken, however since the new 'manager' has taken over, we have ordered no less than 5 times and gotten half our order, items missing, or the wrong food. each time she's told us that she "does not know how to give refunds" finally we stopped down to the place and asked her if she could call someone and find out how to give refunds, she apologized for never answering the phone at the eau claire location (call +1 715 514 4143 any time day or not they wont answer) and said the 'staff turns off the ringer' so i called from my cell phone right then, the phone rang and we all heard it. we've called the HQ, called the owners, nobody can be bothered to do anything. really a shame for a christian business to get taken over by liars and thieves. read more

Kept bringing out the same specialty pizzas and cheese bread rather than having a couple simple topping pizzas. Ice cream machine broken, no other desserts and when they did bring out just one dessert pizza one table filled up and finished it off themselves before any others could. They had barely any food stocked at 12:30. I waited 30 mins for them to put potatoes out but they never did. They had no soup n the same flavors of pizza -- multiple on bar. Zero variety. Filthy floor n no one cleaning off tables. I'll never return. It's gone downhill the last few years. read more

I've never been to a Pizza Ranch before and I was pleasantly surprised. They were very good about constantly bring out pizzas and other food items when they were getting low. The food area was organized and clean. The only unpleasant thing was the unfriendly staff and lack of area for dirty plates. read more

We've been to several Pizza Ranch locations, but this was without a doubt the best of the bunch. Perhaps we were just lucky because we arrived a little after lunchtime. There was a manager running around keeping things moving, and he was literally all over the place, ranging from running the register to monitoring the buffet to clearing tables. He obviously didn't feel like he was above helping out to keep the place running smoothly. He came around twice to ask how things were, and even noticed when one of the kids was looking for something specific at the buffet, and ran back into the kitchen to accomodate, bringing it to the table when it was ready. Great service is something you often don't see at buffets, but this guy was clearly motivated, and he was making the difference between a merely good restaurant and a stellar experience. read more

This store is the WORST and DIRTIEST restaurant we have ever been to! After our visit we learned there has been multiple complaints about this restaurant and the lack of cleanliness. I'm not sure why the Eau Claire City / County Health Department hasn't closed down this business! We ate here on February 18, 2023 at 3:30 pm. The restaurant was dirty with most of the tables cluttered with dirty dishes and trash. There was no one cleaning tables, cleaning floors or cleaning the buffet area. The buffet was mostly empty and what was out had been sitting for quite some time. The food was cold and dried out, the pizza bar only had two types of pizza available and the dessert bar was empty and never was filled while we were there. The ice cream machine was broken and apparently has been broken for a long time. The men's bathroom was DISGUSTING as the toilet overflowed and no one attended to the mess other than putting a plastic wet floor sign. We have eaten at other Pizza Ranch restaurants in other cities and have always had an excellent visit. But, in this instance, we were shocked at the experience and vowed to NEVER return to patronize this restaurant! read more

Just finished at Pizza Ranchs lunch buffet for $9.99. The salad bar was nicer than others in Eau Claire, and it was cleaner than others. The fried chicken was full of flavor, but slightly over cooked. My husband said the pizza wasn't his favorite. He thinks the sauce was too plain. Most were two people and a couple with three. Every single one of them left when they found out the buffet was closed. So let's do the math. 8 x 2 = 16 plus a couple extra people for the cars that had three Equals 18 Let's assume that all got drinks do that's about $11 per person. Multiply that by 18 and you get $198 they just missed out on in a 60 minute span. Keep in mind they are still paying the employees to stand around. Still paying the electric and heat bills while this is going on. Meanwhile the buffet is still full of food. Just sitting there under the hot lamps. There were several pizzas that looked dried out and who ever was in charge of the pizza loved olives and hated the stuffed crust. No stuffed crust pizza but plenty of one's with olives. If you want a native born Italian to hand toss you a wood-fired pizza, this is not for you. If you want to compare this to your favorite pizza from your favorite pizza place, move along. If you are looking for a lot of interesting flavor combos, a nice clean setting, and excellent service, come right in and enjoy. Pizza on its own, 3 stars. Pizza + Service, 4 Stars. Pizza Buffet + Service, 5 stars. My Experience: Let's start at the beginning. I walk in to the guy explaining that if the couple in front of me is going to order anything more than 1 pizza and two drinks, the buffet is a far superior deal. I come up and they ring up one buffet for 10.40 after tax. So its the lowest possible double $ possible. Reasonable considering I did not eat breakfast and I am ready to eat! Seat yourself...awesome, they have tables and chairs, they have booths, large windows, a smaller private room. Booth by the window, table can move and make room for all the pizza I plan on eating. Someone ranted on here about Pizza Ranch and how that doesn't make sense. WHO GIVES A SH..... Listen it has a western theme, its cohesive, its clean, that's what matters. You only notice this however if you take your eyes off all the food you are eating. If there was a barbecue place called BBQ Outhouse and was Outhouse themed, if the food was good, the service was good, and the place was clean people would eat there. Speaking of Outhouse, they bathroom was very clean (usually not a given at a buffet). Drink time, I fill up the enormous cup with my choice of Coke Products, Fruit Punch, PowerAde, Iced Teas, Coffees, and water. Awesome, diet coke and hi-c fruit punch. Boom. I'm already winning. Food time, they have a long salad bar with two types of lettuce, tons of toppings, a variety of dressings, and even some soup at the end. They had a fried chicken station with mashed potatoes, biscuits, wedges, all sorts of fried and barbecue chicken, and some bacon cheddar potatoes. And the Pizza station, that's right, I just got to pizza, the name of the whole restaurant. They have 7 types of pizza on the buffet. All of the pizzas have a little display tag telling you their name and what all the ingredients are. This is a buffet best practice, because Texan Stampede doesn't actually say anything to me. I get some pizza, some chicken, a little side salad, and sit down. The pizza is very good...for a pizza buffet. I repeat "for a Buffet." The key here is variety so try a little bit of everything. As I am eating, one of the employees comes up and asks me how everything is and can he get me anything, I heard they do something called "Buffet Your Way" which mean if there is a pizza that you want on the buffet that isn't out there, you tell them, they make it for you AND they bring you the first slice. They don't throw it down for the vultures to snatch away from you, they bring the WHOLE PIZZA directly to your table and serve you as many slices as you like! That is amazing! So first test, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and (beyond the regular menu) Sausage Pepperoni Onion Green Pepper Jalepeno...the response. "No Problem." Amazing. They came and asked maybe 3 times which was plenty; Not enough to be annoying, just enough so I never felt like I was waiting. So no complaining about they don't have the pizza you like. They will make it and make sure you get some. After noon rolled around, the lunch rush came and I overheard one of the managers tell one of the employees to drop what they are doing and get 2 lines of pizza in the oven, also let me stress this happened BEFORE the buffet ran out. There was never an empty buffet. Lastly, before making assumptions, they have a large mixer in the back and several ingredients so I'm fairly certain it's fresh made pizza too. I ended up leaving a 50% tip at a buffet. They did everything right. I couldn't believe it, what a terrific restaurant experience...and that is not just for a buffet, the customer service was truly exceptional. I love this place!!! I think their chicken is the absolute best fried chicken that I have ever had. I think the pizza is nothing to write home about, but the fact that you can order whatever pizza you want for the buffet and they will bring you the first slice(s) is a great! The customer service is fantastic and they give you large pop glasses. My only real complaint is that they are closed on Sundays. I cannot tell you how many times I've thought...let's go to Pizza Ranch, and it was Sunday. Highly recommend! read more

We used to order often enough to benefit from their frequent buyer card but over time we've kind of quit ordering. Their pizza and chicken are great! The chicken in particular is yummy. Our problem was service related. Touted as a delivery joint we'd call only to hear: 1: sorry, someone called in sick. We can't deliver tonight 2: sorry we turned off the chicken fryers (6:00 pm) and don't have chicken tonight 3: sorry, we don't have enough people working and can't deliver tonight. 4: sorry, we no longer deliver 5: sorry, we deliver pizza but not chicken. On and on and on. We live about 2 miles from the place and offered to pick up and heard. 1: sorry, we already cleaned the chicken fryers 2: sorry, we're closing early tonight I can't remember the other excuses. Suffice it to say we started wondering if the business ever did business? It became a joke to say "Are you sure it's during the 15 minutes they are open" when considering a meal there My advice? Stop in for the lunch buffet. The food is good. The salad bar doesn't have a lot of choices but does the job for the most part. The pizza bar is great, as is the chicken bar. It's ok. I wasn't overly impressed but it wasn't bad by any means. I did their buffet and it was 12 dollars on Sat at open. Was expecting 9 or 10 not 12. Food quality was good but in college I worked for a similar place that served all the same items and I think I know their main supplier. I will say very fresh, and they put care into food and cleanliness. They do a good job with a small menu and better than the place I worked for. Staff was excellent and nice, but when I came at open nothing was set, no food. I do assume this is for freshness since everything trickled out of the kitchen within 20 minutes hot and never went empty. That said I feel like it falls short on variety and most certainly healthy options outside of salad. I tried to sit in a booth without torn seats and there were none. The seats are hard as heck. Other than that it was hard to taste a huge difference between the pizza varieties. The pizza just didn't have any major flavor variance I think because they loaded up on cheese and that becomes most of what you taste. If they dialed back it would help. It's ok, I'd return if they didn't close randomly for weddings without posting it online or had a better price and variety. Confused why this location doesn't do Sunday brunch hours as well. Pizza ranch is greasy, fairly bland pizza. I was warned that it is only good if you are drunk, high, or hungover, and the warning stands true. If I'm looking for good pizza I go elsewhere. Always a safe/average place to eat. Nothing special at all but always a place you can count on to grab a quick bite to eat with lots of choices. It can get very loud and busy over the lunch hour but otherwise it is very comfortable. Staff friendliness seems to be hit and miss but never anything terrible that I've experienced yet. read more

We couldn't decide what to do for dinner so we "googled" restaurants near us. Shortly after putting in the Pizza Ranch's address into our GPS we arrived. The prices were decent and include a drink (non-alcoholic) of your choice. The dining room has a cozy western feel...thus the name lol. The salad bar was not expansive but good. They offer a Minestrone soup (I tried but needs a few spices). I was surprised at the hotbar...they offer fried chicken which is quite delectable...and mashed potatoes and gravy also. They carry a pretty good variety of pizzas of which DH and I tried. Some were tastier than others. The dessert pizzas and ice cream were quite delish tho. I'm giving an overall 4 star review bc they do have a good selection and variety, the quality is there, and the service is good, and if they don't have the pizza you desire you can request it! We also love the fact that there are Christian businesses out there that aren't afraid to represent. And by the way, they do this in a very subtle way. We loved the music they played. read more

My wife and I stopped in for dinner around 6pm. It was a slow night there, and the food was good. I liked the chicken BBQ pizza. Lots of variety and even fried chicken! I was put off by the lack of upkeep. The worn carpeting had lots of food, stains, and crumbs in it. The booth was not clean, the bench had dried up sauce on the woodwork. The window was covered in greasy fingerprints. Outside, the parking lot had rubbish along the curbs and in the landscaping. The banner out front was so worn and faded it should've been thrown out long ago. You guys have a good thing going, but never sit on your laurels. Every employee should spend 5 minutes here and there to polish up the place, patrol the lot, wipe down seating, etc. If there isn't enough help, the managers need to step up big time. Making pizza isn't all that unique, you need to make a great experience to boot. We aren't planning on going back. There are many other restaurants that serve pizza and chicken, but keep their stores spotless. read more

The owner is very rude and accusatory. We went in to have lunch and I ordered a pizza NOT the lunch buffet. She accused me of wanting to take from the salad bar. When I assured her 4 times that I had no intention of having the salad bar she informed me that if I took it I would be charged. She also told me that when girls come in and ask for the gluten free pizza they try and take from the salad bar. My husband and daughter did get the buffet which for the first 20 minutes didn't even have any pizza. Multiple customers complained and she blamed it on the truck driver and refused to apologize. When I explained what happened to the manager and asked to talk to her she refused saying it wasn't going to benefit her.
