Ordered a pizza and cheese sticks online to be picked up. When I went to pick up the pizza I waited 5-10 minutes just for someone in the back to realize I was standing at the front. Then when the host noticed I was there she was very apologetic but instead of helping me to get my pizza, she made me wait so she could help someone order over the phone. Last I checked when someone calls, you ask them to hold until you help the people actually in the store. I waited almost 15 minutes just to pick up a pizza. There's a couple tables inside with a bar but the vibe is not there. I definitely would not eat in store as there were 2 parties eating inside but they both seemed to not be having a great time. The pizza was good but the crust was falling apart. It seemed like whoever made it was their first time making a pizza. The thin cheese sticks were very good. Although I have visited before, this is my first review. With that said, this time we placed an order (pizza) to go. The gentleman who took our order was very kind and friendly. However, the wait was painful (almost 45 min). The pizzas were presented to us and they asked about plates and other condiments for the pizza. We were all very hungry and got back to the group, but the pizzas did not taste good. They weren't bad, but not great. Just "meh", disappointing for the cost and the wait time. While we waited we observed that the ventilation wasn't the best and the pizza makers didn't appear to be enjoying themselves. Anyway, took off one star due to long order to presentation time, one more star due to the pizza only being so-so (at best) and one star removed for the overall experience. I can't talk to the other food or beverages, but I did leave two stars as the gentlemen that took our order was really good and the ambiance was ok. Started with the cheese garlic bread. It was flavorful and big. The marinara sauce was what seemed like straight up tomato paste. We got a white pizza and one of the specialty pizzas. Both were good but better cold the next morning. Service was adequate. It was weird pulling up to a Mexican restaurant and Geno's in what seemed like the same store front. Ordered a side salad, Geno's Special (pizza), and Trippers Triple Play (pizza) for takeout. The salad is big and definitely could be shared with others. The pizzas were very topping heavy with a softer and thinner crust. Not my all time favorite pizza, but it was pretty good. Both of the pizzas had their signature sausage on them, which made the pizza stand out more to me and made the restaurant more unique! They were filling and we have leftovers to enjoy. I called days in advance to place an order for my wedding reception - the manager taking my order was great. Arrived on the day to pick up my order, and the order was not ready as the staff working there lost the order (later finding it on the ground). The person working the counter offered to still make the order like it was going above and beyond, out of their way service. I needed the order at the time it was scheduled to be picked up. I wasn't going to make a wedding reception late waiting for pizza. After canceling the order as politely as possible and leaving, I get a phone call asking if I still wanted the pizzas to be made, with no other form of recompense. After I had just canceled the order. I will never eat here and will actively share my experience with everyone I know to not go here, just on principle alone. How's the pizza? No clue. read more

What had been a special treat for us devolved into a significant disappointment. We ordered a deluxe "half-baked" 10 inch pizza with extra cheese and adding green olives. We got a fully cooked pizza that had not rendered the fat from the sausage so the sauce was greasy and the crust soggy. The green olives were interpreted as a replacement not an addition. The amount of cheese would have been inadequate for a regular order much less "extra", It did not cover the whole pizza (left a one inch ring around the edge untouched) The cheese layer in the center was so thin that you could tell what was underneath. We are staying at the Metropolis across the parking lot and walked over to Geno's based on the positive Yelp reviews. Enjoyed our meal. Bella and the staff were friendly and welcoming. You order at the bar and your food is brought out to you. Pizza was excellent, loaded with cheese and toppings. We got a large half-cheese, half-sausage & mushroom which was enough for 3 people. This is more of a casual restaurant. Pizza is served on plastic cafeteria trays and you have to go get your own plates and utensils. Soda is self-service. Rolls of paper towels on the tables rather than actual napkins. So maybe not exactly "date night" restaurant, but we had a good time. read more

Superb pizza made by folks who are clearly serious about making great pizza. The restaurant is no frills as is the service, and the location is hard to get to and shares a bathroom with the Mexican place next door, but that makes it all the more appealing, IMO. It's a destination (destinations require a little extra work but are worth it) for excellent pizza in a town with plenty of bad and ok pizza. Amazing pizza! Some of the best in the area! Love how the toppings go to the edge of the pizza so it is more filling without leftover crust.

We saw the reviews on this pizza joint and had to check it out. You will not be disappointed. It's a small place but the service was excellent and their thick crust pizza was very good! The owner even stopped by a couple times to introduce himself and make mention that he me makes all of his ingredients from scratch. We were worried we'd be annoying since we didn't make reservation, but they couldn't have given us a better welcome. Mary was our waitress and she was so awesome and fun to have helping us. Whenever I go somewhere new, I try a sausage and pepperoni pizza for comparison purposes-this helps me standardize things. This pizza was Heavy and Dense. I got the large 14" but I would have been fine with the 10". I met the manager on the way out and he showed me the pizza in the restaurant as a little "teaser." Grading: Cheese: A+ -massive amounts of cheese, high quality Pepperoni: A -little pepperonis great flavor Sausage: A -the good kind, large Italian sausages Sauce: A- -it's a good sauce, personally my favorite has a little more tang and a little less seasoning, but this was good in its own way Crust: A- -very good consistent on the outside, a little limp in the middle pieces, but not soggy . This place is the closest you can get to Chicago stuffed which is our favorite. There's usually a really cheerful guy who answers the phone and we've never had issues with timing or our pizza. Pepperoni double cheese deep dish is the way to go. We even received our pizza burnt one time out of the many we've ordered and they were friendly and apologetic, offering us a gift card to come back and get the same thing again.
