I've been using the Elk River Piza Ranch for years for delivery and take out and have been extremely satisfied. This was the first time we dined in. Unfortunately, I think we made a mistake by going during a time when it wasn't busy. I was mostly impressed with the variety and the quality of the food. The one exception was the chicken which had been sitting out way too long and was extremely dry. I'm sure this wouldn't have happened if it were busy but if they don't figure out how to solve this problem they are going to loose customers like me who already have a difficult time convincing my wife to go there. read more

Pizza Ranch is a solid option if you are looking for an all you can eat buffet. Their fried chicken is my favorite as it has crunchy skin on the outside and moist/juicy insides. Their thin crust pizza is also good. Most locations also have a game/party room for kids so it's family friendly. read more

The food was pretty good, my favorite was the big cookie pie they had. The workers that greeted us were nice. They were a little slow at restocking the food so we had to wait a little for what we wanted to try but it wasn't a big deal. read more

Buffet style place that you pay on arrival. Clean and frequently restocked food item "islands". Fountain drink, coffee, iced tea are available. I loved their broasted chicken: crispy outside, moist and tasty inside! Maybe they should rename it 'Chicken & Pizza Ranch' We came as part of a large bicycle group & took over one of the more private side rooms (we can get a little loud). Elk River Pizza Ranch is top notch! The staff are polite, funny and personable. Ben greets us at the register and goes above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The table bussers are service with a smile and maybe a joke or two to keep our dining experience lighthearted. DK is always making sure things are clean and well-stocked. Eating at PR now feels like a family affair! Hard to get that community feel nowadays but Pizza Ranch has done it. Kudos to the hiring manager! Your team is phenomenal!! read more

We had a 60 dollar chicken order from the Pizza Ranch here in Elk River last night. When we opened the boxes we were all shocked to find what was in there! It was almost as if the person who set up the order looked to find the smallest pieces of chicken they could find to put in the boxes! One chicken wing. 2 bites. Done! One chicken breast. Four bites. Done! All of the boxes of chicken were that way! It's almost as if the new owners are looking for ways to cut costs and sacrificing their product to do so' The dinner roll? Gimme a break! I don't know where to start. As I enter the door, we order a pizza a Hawaiian pizza. We request regular crust a few minutes later they come and ask us if we could do thin is fine (probably for cost cutting). But like why? Like we ordered that pizza. If they were to order the pizza make two pizzas one for us, and one for them. If you're not going to do that, don't let them take more than half of the pizza. I don't understand why. They bring our pizza, and someone else must of ordered the same kind of pizza. They take over 3/4 of the pizza (they came after us). Then they come over and ask us if we would like some pizza. THAT WE ORDERED. Four pieces. For a family of four. Rude. That is like having a DoorDash driver eat majority of your pizza. The potion sizes were giving elementary school pizza party slices. No more than two inches wide. Some were not even like that. There were more than a few pieces that were maybe a quarter of an inch wide. The pops were not good. Mostly water. Hardly and pop syrup. It was more of a bubbly water with a hint of Pepsi flavor. This restaurant is trying to save more money than ethical. They are doing every little thing to save money. The workers were nice. That was probably the best thing about this restaurant that is holding this review up from a one star. I would like this restaurant to stop trying to save every penny that they can (not to mention that they upped their prices. $60 for four people). I would recommend them to stop the cost cutting and focus on pleasing the guests. I have been to other Pizza Ranches less than a month ago and it was good potion sizes, pop actually tasted like pop and not flavored water and hardly and taste of pop and they actually gave us pizza without running off to a different table to give them pizza, giving pizza up to the front after we take our pizza up at the buffet. That is fine! I dont understand why they cheaped out to give us a bad experience. One star and a half stars. Only good thing was the workers and they the food. The food was actually pretty good! Just the pizza. The chicken was gross. Also the salads are amazing, but it was not the best here the eggs were very hard and gross. Won't recommend, too much cost cutting. read more

Pizza Ranch is one of our favorite restaurants in Elk River. We have made it a family favorite visiting often. The Elk River location has a great staff and the food is always fresh and hot. Being able to order exactly what we want to go with our buffet meal is an added bonus. My wife always orders her favorite pizza. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped here on Wed. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. Not sure what else to say other than it met the expectations of a pizza ranch with one exception. Chicken was NOT filled as much as other ranches I have been too. During my entire visit not once was it filled. Very uncommon. Usually the chicken is overflowing! Only reason for the 4-star! I didn't catch her name but the manager was a beam of light in this place, it's not a surprise that the staff are usually just shy teenagers but this lady was very welcoming, friendly and just all around a nice person. If you're reading this I'm sorry I didn't get your name but you had green Christmas light earrings on so you know who you are! The food was good like usual, only 4 stars because the sides such as Mashed potatoes and the chicken just need a little more love, potatoes were kinda stiff and the chicken fingers were just okay. The pizza and cheesy bread however is delicious as always, cooked perfect and great flavor. As well as always something weird like taco pizza or Mac and cheese pizza which ends up being quite good, and if nothing else will give the kids something interesting. We come here when visiting family in the area and bring our kids here. it's a good value, very kid friendly and food is decent. everytime we've been there its been really busy. on Tuesdays kids eat free- tonight it was nearly full. really, the only thing I wish they'd add would be toppings bar for the ice cream. read more

Super kid friendly!!!! I love taking my kids here because they can have a bit of fun during dinner. There are almost always other kids here so it all just blends in. Staff is always fantastic and friendly giving me yet another reason to come back. The pizza buffet food quality is above average though variety is lackluster. For me though the staff and atmosphere make up for it as well as the affordability. All that being said don't take your date here for a quiet romantic dinner because it won't be either of those. read more

my girlfriend & i went to eat dinner at the pizza ranch in champlin minnesota & th same night once we arrived home, we felt sick, we both went to the hospital and food poisioning.. i called the owner/manager once we were discharged "after a few days" and he didn't give up a refund and had a poor personality towards me "us", ton's of excuses etc.. bottom line is we got sick, were hospitalized and received no refund and or payment of our hospital bills from the store or him.. i'll never eat there again, please be cautious.. read more

Our family of 6 needed a place to eat that we could all agree on. This was perfect. Mashed potatoes and chicken for the picky eaters, pizza for others, salad for me and...the best part, they had gluten free pizza (make sure to order ahead of time, because it takes 25+ minutes, but they brought it to me in a to go box, so totally perfect)!!! This Pizza Ranch is run pretty well. You can tell when the good cooks are working and when they are not by how over done the pizzas get. The staff are always eager and enthusiastic to be of service. I really love the steak and onion pizza, the breadsticks with marinara sauce and the vanilla soft serve ice cream... very nice. The frequent diner / loyalty card requires you to register online before you can redeem your points. This pizza ranch is always a Sunday morning favorite for us. One suggestion I have for this Pizza Ranch would be to bridge the hours of availability for their buffet to be thru the entire afternoon, especially during the summer months when children are out of school and their parents want to bring them in to put the feedbag on and get them full. I think people believe the buffet is available during the middle of the afternoon since most good people don't think to check the website for those specific details. read more

My son's favorite place, clearly any eight year old would love this. That being said, salad bar is solid, fried chicken is tasty, and they have the pizzas I enjoy and I can request a fresh one with the buffet and it comes straight to my table. First off, this place is laid out very strange and the buffet area is way too small. The pizza is decent but nothing special by any means. The salad bar is pretty good but what stands out here is their fried chicken, it's absolutely fabulous. It was dirty with some kind of candy all over the floor. The ice cream machine was not working. It is way over priced for the quality of the pizza. I don't expect much from a buffet style restaurant, but you can tell they are just heating up frozen pizza. It was over $50 for our family of five with a coupon. So we ended up ordering from pizza ranch today cause we wanted to try a different pizza delivery place. Well I would like to say that the food and service was superb! The woman I spoke to on the phone was extremely patient even though they couldn't find our address right away. My boyfriend and I actually decided that we won't be ordering from another competitor in the area anymore because the pizza and cheese bread was so delicious! And the prices were great as well. Everything was delivered hot and fresh. The only downfall of the order was that we didn't get red sauce with the cheese bread but honestly I didn't even care because the food was so great. Really bad experience with Pizza Ranch. They have messed up our deliveries so many times and we order the same thing every time. Last one was the worst result ever! The manager Lisa hung up on me after arguing with me about tomatoes on our pizza. All I wanted was my pizza with no tomatoes on it. Needless to say we didn't get a new pizza and she said she would give us a credit on our account. We said we wanted our $10 back out of a typical $40 order about 4 times a month there. She told us no. And no to a new pizza. Nice way to handle customers. read more
