It is a bar that serves food not a restaurant that serves drinks. On Monday we tried their takeout broasted chicken. It was good It was good but I thought it was pretty ordinary. Today I wanted to try the prime rib sandwich to see if it had more meat than Rockwoods. It did, much more, but I didn't expect the lettuce and tomato. I substituted coleslaw for fries for an extra $2. Their coleslaw is perfect! My wife had the special, a rice bowl. There seemed to be a lot of chicken and a lot of rice but not much in the way of vegetables. Personally I'd be ok with never going back, but hey, I'm getting very fussy. read more

Nice pub with good food. I really enjoyed the mexiburger. Just the right amount of spicy jalapeños, washed down with an Oktoberfest beer. We also enjoyed the broasted chicken, an entree that we get often in different restaurants. We had a group here after a bike ride and the service was great. read more

Excellent food. We had a variety of items, including the all you can eat fish, the shrimp basket and a Reuben. Everyone loved their food it was cooked to perfection. The fish and chips had large pieces of fish, crispy outside, tender and flaky inside. Very delicious. The shrimp basket was also good liked the fact that the shrimp was tail free. And the Reuben was delicious as well. The wait staff was awesome. Frequently checking on us. We sat up above in the dining room, so not as loud as the bar which was very nice, will definitely be going back. read more

Great dive bar! I had the conductor, which is a double cheeseburger with bacon and cheese curds. It was greasy and delicious, which is exactly what I was looking for. I got the Teezers as my side, which are cheesy tater tots with ranch on the side. The ranch was in a packet, and was pretty lame. Staff was very friendly, and everyone else seemed like a regular. They had 2 IPAs on tap, and I really liked both. Better ranch, better tots or cleaner tables/bathrooms would have earned 5 stars, but I will for sure be back! read more

We ordered the sampler appetizer platter and their deep dish pepperoni and onion pizza. The appetizers would have been enough to feed both of us. They were good and served with a variety of sauces. It was already packed with drunks early on a Friday afternoon. Pretty funny. This place would obviously be 1000 times better in the summer, sitting on the deck. It looks directly over a bend in the Mississippi. They have a killer location. The food was decent. I liked the "Deep Fried Pickles" with avocado/ranch dressing dip. I usually don't bitch about prices, but the portion was really small and ridiculous for the price. I should get more pickles by forking over $8.25. But the flavor was good. The "Depot Burgers" were good too. They charbroil them, which adds a nice flavor. My wife liked her Friday "Seafood Soup". At first, our server was pretty grumpy and I thought she was going to kick our asses. Then my daughter did something silly and got her to smile. After that, it was all good. Went there on 3-18-22 for the fish fry - worst I ever had. Was excited to try it when I order it- server said it was the best fish fry ever- NOT! Fish came out- yuck- it was breaded chunks that looked like it came out of a bag of frozen fish from the grocery store. Then it had been deep fried in very dirty oil making it black- it was so nasty tasting and when you bit into the fish, grease would drizzle down your chin cuz it had obviously been "double deep fried" for quicker cooking. Fries and cole slaw that came with it were just as bad- I will NEVER eat at this place again. Told the server and she just handed me the bill :( A rating of 1 star is too much! read more

this place was terrible, i ordered a cajun chicken sandwich and they put buffalo sauce all around the chicken, it was terrible. the onion rings were soggy and some kid with a mustache kept coming to our table and bothering us and told us he was the pizza maker in the back. after i ate here i was in a desperate need to get home because i felt like i was going to explode, if you want to feel like your about to die and get food poisoning i definitely recommend this place. read more

The thing we enjoy the most about The Depot is the location on the Mississippi and the small town feel of the building/decor. The staff are always friendly and the service is quick. I feel the menu is that of your average bar/restaurant. Nothing too fancy but also a bit of variety to it. We will continue to eat here as long as we live in the area. read more

We heard this place has good burgers so we decided to try it out. We are new residents of Elk River. When we walked in, the whole place stared at us. The sign says "seat yourself" and when we went on the deck outside, we pushed two tables together to accommodate our family of 6. The staff rushed outside to tell us "You can't move tables!" OKAY?! Where can we sit with 6 people? "Well you can still have these tables but you can't move them together." The weather is nice and the view is beautiful, but I'm still annoyed that our family can't sit together. You can see the distance of tables in the pic. It's just annoying. And I can't see how it would cause a fire hazard. So far- they haven't been super welcoming to us. The flies have been in abundance, however! We are seated right by the outside garbage bins. We waited 30 minutes for our food and then only half was delivered. My son's sandwich was supposed to be a Cajun chicken but it had buffalo sauce on it and vegetables, which he asked beforehand to have held off. My other son's burger was burned around the edges. I have been here many times. It's a staple in downtown Elk River. The food is average at best and the service was robotic. We're not locals...and our waitress wasn't nearly as friendly as she was with the other tables around us. Based on conversations, we were the table of unknowns. She made sure we noticed too. The best pizza in Elk River..... Hands down. Decent beer/drink selection, phenomenal service each and every time. Cozy home town feel, this place has sports photos all over the walls from decades ago. Pull tabs are always a bonus! We frequent every week or two and have never been disappointed. Food is always excellent, pizza is home made and worth the trip alone. Burgers and appetizers are great, plus they have a daily special for each day of the week. There is a patio that overlooks the river which is cute, but it is also near impossible to have a waitress remember that you are out there.
