It's been a minute since I've tried this place again and I wanted to give it another shot because I was craving a Sicilian pizza. And wow oh wow, did it hit the spot today! I really like how they're Italian sausage just extra extra large. You can't really go along with really big tasty sausages. I got the sausage pepperoni super slice and the number one combo. The breadsticks are absolutely soft and delicious here and it's perfectly seasoned. I really love their pizza sauce here. Rocky Rococo is one of the top pizza places in Minnesota. It tastes very similar to VIP pizza in Duluth. I absolutely really like this place again. I'm so glad I stopped back here. Everyday they have a different flavor on special. I think this is the last location in Minnesota, PLEASE they can never leave. Sometimes I'm shocked to see places I grew up going to still around. I recall how much my mom loved & talked about the sausage they put on the pizza, me and my sister have always hated sausage (still do) so she would order sausage and pepperoni and make us pick off the sausage, lol. I do miss when they used to have a salad bar, such a big part of our visits. I stopped eating pork and beef as a teen so the sausage never had a chance to grow on me, unfortunately. My mom & I stopped by over the weekend to grab a few slices while out running errands. I got cheese and she got the sausage/pepperoni super slice. My mom said the sausage wasn't the same as she remembered but it was still pretty good. The cheese pizza was just okay, I do prefer b.o.p. style these days for the thinner crust. I know it's easier to sell pizza by the slice if it's already prepared but I do wish the pizza was served a bit fresher and hot. The overall theme of Rocky's has changed as far as decor but still has a somewhat nostalgic feel (except the salad bar being gone). They have Rocky themed movie posters which was funny. I live very close to Rocky's. Usually when I want a quick slice of pizza I come here. Atmosphere is old-school with a typical pizzeria type style. Pizza as you may know is kind of Detroit style deep dish. Staff is very young. Lotta new employees when I go inside. There are some staff that's been working there for a while. I don't really expect too much from the workers. There's not much of a waiter server style. You just order your food at the counter then you get your food right away. Prices are a bit pricey, but for the quality of pizza and the sides which include breadsticks or salad I think it's worth it. I think this might be the only Rocky's locally. I haven't seen any Rocky's in any other places in the state, someone can prove me wrong :) read more

Just stopped and picked up the Tuesday special which is sausage mushroom pizza. Absolutely delicious. They have a great menu with just the right amount of items, the pizza came out perfect and still hot when I got home. Very friendly service at the drive-through. Nostalgia. Does anything really ever measure up to a fond remembrance? We used to spend a lot of time at the Bloomington location when we were kids. The sausage and mushroom pizza was always a favorite. Something exciting about receiving your boxed slice and eating it with a knife and fork. My husband had never been to Rocky Rococo. Since we were in the area I decided to treat him to a childhood memory. Unfortunately, it wasn't sausage mushroom day. A slice of sausage and a slice of pepperoni. The sausage had the same great taste but the crust was a little gooier. Not as good as a memory. Staff was helpful. Just not worth the drive for us. I was surprised to find that this place was still open. I'd assumed that they'd gone the way of the DoDo, as so many restaurants have. If you don't know, they are a Wisconsin chain, with the Brooklyn Park location being the only one in Minnesota. We got The Works pizza. It has: Italian sausage, pepperoni, fresh mushrooms, onions, green peppers, black and green olives, and diced tomatoes. We asked that there be no green olives. Green olives take over the flavors of a pizza, so we refrain. We also got the cheesy bread. We sat down after getting our fountain drinks. The bread came out not too long afterward. This was THE CHEESIEST bread I've ever seen. I know that I'd had it in the past, yet don't recall it having enough cheese to have made a pizza. It was a little salty, but otherwise ok. The pizza was well cooked and tasted great. We both took home 4 slices each from what was left. Yes, we got a large pizza. The service was friendly enough, though a bit disorganized. There doesn't seem to be a discernable line for customers to wait in to order food. Yes, we will be back. There's an Aldi next door, so it's another reason to stop in while over there. read more

We've been visiting this Rocky Rococo for years. It's become a necessary stop each time we head to the other side of the cities. The slices are large, the dough is soft, the sauce and cheese pair well, and the sausage is always flavorful. They usually take about half an hour from call to pick up and the pizzas are always piping hot (so be careful!). We usually get two single topping pizzas with their breadsticks (those come with marinara and cheese sauce). For our family, it feeds 7 hungry adults with leftovers. If you've never tried this style of pizza, this is the place to do it. read more

Gosh, I used to love this place. I was so happy to see it was still here when I moved back. But that feeling of excitement completely disappeared when I was served cold, hard breadsticks and a slice of cheese pizza that had been sitting for what tasted like hours. I asked the cashier if I could have fresh, hot food and was initially told "no, I don't think so‍". She was young, so I asked if she could ask someone if it was possible. They quoted 8 mins on a fresh cheese pizza but said nothing of the breadsticks. After 20 minutes I returned to the register to all the staff mumbling and looking at each other when I asked about the pizza. The guy working said "that's entirely my fault, I didn't put it in. I can offer you some cookies to make up for it." I told him I want the pizza I paid for. As much as I loved this place growing up, I won't be back anytime soon. I told her that I used to work at Rocky Rococo's when I was young and had great memories of it and I worked at the Uptown Minneapolis store. She wasn't interested and asked what I wanted? Just rude! I asked if there were any other Rocky Rocco's in Minnesota? She said they are the only one in MN. She didn't want to talk to me and brushed me off. I looked behind me because she was so short with me thinking maybe there were a bunch of customers that came up but, there was no one. So how do you keep the business afloat when your employees upfront are so rude and nasty? Being the last Rocky's in MN is no small distinction. How a franchise this small can only have one location in a state and somehow create the same fantastic pizza as the shops in WI is crazy to me. But they somehow do it. The pizza is fantastic, and completely unique. There is hand tossed, thin crust, deep dish, and then there is a Rocky's square pie. It's a strange combination of everything. Crunchy and soft, doughy, yet not mushy. It's hard to describe. Excellent sauce, and the fresh sausage is incredible, and lot's of cheese. Sure the inside is dated, and could probably use a refresh. But in these times, just get take out, bring it home and enjoy. I had a 30 minute drive and it was still hot and fresh when I got back. Keep them alive, get some Rocky Rococo's! read more

The medium is like a large. I also did the breadsticks, because i'm smart. Buttery, garlicky...touch of parmesan...definitely rocks. Had wings too...they were ok. As a long time resident of Brooklyn Park, this is the one few places I'd say is special to the area and is really good...and its probably neglected because of location. I was here just recently, and the pizza was just as good as the last time I was here. I really liked how they stay open just a little later compared to other places in the area. It really fills my appetite for an after dinner visit. Now from when I walked in to getting my food took like only ten minutes with a really cool employee who answered my questions, and really made sure my food really did taste fresh. So far I really liked the sausage slice with plenty of breadsticks to go around. Now the slices seem to be extra big, in that it looks to be 2 slices rolled into one.
