    Hot honey Pepperoni

If you are craving a good artisan pizza, this is a great place to go! There is a wild selection of different pizza flavors to pick from that will appease everyone. My favorite was the hot honey pepperoni. I thought the artichoke dip would be a dip but turns out it's a pizza! A great spot to stop in!

Trying a lot of local eateries as we visit town and this was a good one! We got takeaway and pizzas were hot, accurately made, and flavorful. The margherita and cheese pizza are essentially the same with/without basil. Artichoke dip pizza and flatbread were family favorites! Drizzled balsamic glaze on both and it was spectacular! Would definitely try again. :)

Having been here several times recently I continue to think that this is some of the best Neapolitan pizza in The Cities. The crusts are crispy and smokey, the toppings are interesting and both authentic and unusual, take your pick. A shout out to the salads as well. They have unusual and interesting flavor combos and are very fresh. Ask for them to be light on the dressing, sometimes they go a little crazy. Wine pours go to the top of the glass and almost require you to take a sip without lifting the glass up.

Small little spot with counter service, but some really solid pizza. I'd say what really stands out to me here is the unique variations they have on top of more traditional styles. For instance, I loved the hot honey which is a staple nowadays, but the peach pizza was completely unexpected. Never seen anything like it and it was totally enjoyable. Will return to keep trying some of their already unique menu items, but also to try some of their seasonal variations which keep it even more interesting!

Had an overall lackluster lunch at Pompeii Pizzeria. You order at the counter. Beverages and silverware are self serve at the counter. We ordered the Fresh Chard pizza, a Hot Honey pizza and a Cesar salad. I'd order the food again, though I thought the hot honey pizza could have been cooked longer. The main issue was how dirty the restaurant was. Tables weren't cleaned quickly between customers. And even then only plates were picked up. We were also given dirty plates. It's not an overly large restaurant. Any party over four I would recommend takeout.

I have read a number of good reviews about Pompeii and have been extremely excited to try it out. It, unfortunately, didn't quite live up to my expectations. Maybe I overhyped myself a little. Located in downtown Elk River, it has a quaint, nice small town feel to it. Nice little dining area in the front with the pizza oven in the back. We walked up to the counter to order and were greeted in an awkward manner and the entire ordering experience stayed that way. Awkward. The kid seemed annoyed by our business and not thrilled to be taking our order. We went with a salad and two pizzas. The salad was good. Would have been lights out if the lettuce wasn't so wilty and soggy. The vinaigrette dressing was excellent in my opinion but not for the weak hearted. Both pizzas were just okay. They both were just slightly undercooked in my opinion and a little doughy. These are cooked in a gas over, not wood fired, leaving the pizza with a weird undercarriage and a slight gas taste. I really wanted to love this place but it fell a little short. There are a ton of pizza options on the menu and they all sound excellent. Unfortunately I think they will always fall short with the gas oven.

Tonight we picked up pizza from Pompeii Pizzeria, this is open fire, brick oven (neapolitans style pizza) . We ordered a sausage, pepperoni, onion, mushroom, and cheese, and we ordered a margarita pizza also we ordered one of their seasonal dessert, pizzas the caramel apple cinnamon cheesecake. Oh yes, lastly a Greek salad, which came with a (pita like) bread. The meat pizza was pretty good, I give it a 9 out of 10. The margarita pizza was a little overdone, kind of charred, but it taste good enough regardless, so I give it a 7 out of 10. The Greek salad and pita bread was delicious 10 out of 10! However, the dessert pizza was awful!! It had horrible texture, almost like globs of soft jello cheese cake (without the gram cracker crust) hardly any caramel, (we couldn't see any apples on it either) and a sprinkle of cinnamon. This "seasonal dessert" pizza had practically no sweetness to it--in fact very little taste at all. We each tried a piece of the dessert pizza and agreed that it was garbage. Overall all, for the price you will get a pretty tasty meal, just don't order the seasonal dessert pizza!

    Francesca's Glace (1st Place Winner)

Pompeii Pizzeria has been a staple to one of my favorite pizzerias for the better of 10 plus years now. The Francesca's Glace is my all-time favorite since they released it as a seasonal pizza, but once it became a standard on the menu, I've gotten it every time. Great service, and perfect small town ambiance with outdoor seating. Must try!

Unfortunately, the food was some of the most disappointing Italian we've had, especially for the price. The "truffle fries" were basically lukewarm shoestring fries, the pesto linguine and alfredo both came with spaghetti noodles instead of the pasta advertised, and the burrata bruschetta arrived in a plastic container loaded with onions with rock hard bread on the side. The arancini was extremely mushy, the fresh house bread was hard enough to knock on a table, and overall the presentation felt more like takeout from a former fast casual spot than an Italian restaurant charging over $100 for dinner. Oddly enough, the only thing our family mildly enjoyed were the kids' butter noodles. Really wanted to like this place, but sadly we wouldn't return.

I like my lasagna to have browned cheese on top. This had a browned bottom that was burnt or close to burnt. I also like a little garlic flavor in my lasagna but to be fair I have yet to find any place who makes it to my liking. I tasted my wife's meatball and thought it was bland. for me the whole plate needed more sauce and the pasta itself needed to be cooked a bit longer.

The menu is fairly basic, but the selections did taste great. We liked the garlic bread the best, we were able to eat the whole thing with just the two of us as they are so addicting! It's a small little place that you would probably miss unless you really took the time to look at the building. There were six of us, and I loved that their menu was straight forward with about 10 main dishes to choose from. I got the cheese tortellini with steak. We also got the breadsticks as appetizers and I got a side cedar salad. The breadsticks were big and fluffy and it came with red sauce, but we also asked for Alfredo sauce to dip it in. The steak on top of my tortellini was cooked great! Was probably cooked to about medium-medium rare. The Alfredo was top tier. I loved the flavor and it was very creamy. They gave you a lot too which was nice. I liked the size of the Caesar salad, not too big, and the dressing was great. I wasn't a super huge fan of the croutons because they were a rye type of bread. We tried all three desserts and they were all very good. The lava cake was my favorite. The waitress was also the hostess. She was very nice. The only thing I would say was that it was a bit odd that she was wearing leggings and a crop top. Just felt a little unprofessional seeing her belly button piercing. She did a very good job serving us though. The food was very well priced and good portions because I walked away with extras. The place was relatively quiet for a Friday night. Please go check this place out!!
